We are our own worst enemy.. the battle begins in the mind.

Thursday, July 15, 2010

I have a tendency to over think things.. to be all or nothing (perfectionist).. and if I just do a little bit every day.. I'm so much better off in the end.

I just need to stop being my own worst enemy!

Sometimes less is more!

I hear ya on this one!!! It's so easy to get impatient and frustrated by slow progress... but moderation is always the key-- you'll be able to stick with your new habits and stay healthy for life! It takes 6 weeks of doing something CONSISTENTLY everyday before it becomes a habit-- be patient with yourself and know that your small steps add up to a whole journey! emoticon

We are more than a number on a scale, a size, a height...

Wednesday, July 14, 2010

We need to learn to value ourselves and not judging ourselves by what the number reads on the scale, what size clothes we wear, how tall we wear.. the color of our hair.. etc.

We are not defined by these things.. it's time to realize who we are is precious and become our own best friends and learn to LOVE ourselves.

Frump Butt

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

My kids said that I needed smaller jeans that mine were too big that I have a 'frump butt' .. they explained it's when someone's pants are saggy like when a baby has a load in their pants.. I laughed and laughed and then kissed their cheeks and thanked them.. and skipped away thinking.. ahh.. I might not have lost weight this week but I am FIRMING UP!

When I get all the ones I want .. (after I book mark them) I'll start typing them in and share some with you!

Here's one:
Low GI Protein Bar

Hereís the ingredients:

Whey Protein Isolate (chocolate flavor works best I think)
Rolled oats
Ground Flax Seed
Blue Agave Nectar
The total Glycemic Load for this bar is just 5.
Blue Agave Nectar is your choice of syrup here owing to itís low glycemic load i.e. GL 2 for a 20g/1 tablespoon serving.
Making it is simple:
Mix all your dry ingredients thoroughly in a bowl i.e. protein, oats, and flax seed
Now add your nectar, but donít mix in yet
Add a tablespoon of water
Now mix it all together. Get your hands in there and really mix it well
Spoon it out of the bowl and shape it into a bar. Let it set for a while in the fridge or chew it down straight away (it will be very gooey if you donít let it set).
If you want to go completely natural make sure you use a protein powder without any sweeteners.
