THE TIME IS COMING NEAR

Monday, November 29, 2010

November 29, 2010 Monday

This month is all most gone and then we get to the most very active month of the year. I stay out of the stores as much as possible, because I don't like the crowds. I don't have to buy that much and this year it is nothing sorry to say. Money is too tight and has to be saved for bills. I think a lot of people are going to do the same thing as my children have said they are not going to do too much either. I think a lot of people are getting back to dinners, time together and the true meaning of Christmas. I feel bad but I have to be realistic and look at what I have to do to maintain my home.

My foot is better and I hope it stays that way so I can bowl. I have all the pies and turkey dinner packed and frozen. I will have about 6 other meals to eat during the winter months. I put a piece of pumpkin and pecan pie in a pack which will be 4 servings ,each piece of pie with make 2 servings. I will finish the liver tomorrow and then I will have to start new meals. I have lunch meat and chicken nuggets too so have to finish those in the next couple of days. Too much food at once and all the salad foods too. Like I said I will never starve. I said that in my blog yesterday and one of the post said in a world disaster they will visit me. If anyone lives near Delaware come on over anytime.

Life is great but there are times I get really lonely and wish I had more people around me because I am a people person. I need companionship and I am not talking about sex but friends closeness. Sorry didn't mean to be so blunt but I want what I say clear. When you are 1 of 8 and then you worked in jobs that there was a lot of people, you have always had people around you and find yourself alone. Then when all that leaves and the home front support also is gone it can get really lonely. I have to make calls and find some clubs to join this week. I wish I was around some of you but you live on the other side of the country. We could be really good friends but we can be that here too.

Don't work too hard, shop too long, bake too much and get some rest. Love you all. God bless you. Love the Spark people and learn.

Catch you tomorrow.

Joyce

I like the idea of making a coupon book and giving it as a gift. You can give a lunch, a dinner, running errands, a night of watching a grandchild - lots of good ideas! It's the thought that counts.

Take care Joyce!

AND WHAT WAS SAID

Saturday, November 27, 2010

November 27. 2010 Saturday

I was up a little early and straighten the kitchen and ate breakfast before little one came. I was starting the salad for my daughter's dinner when they came in. I made the salad with turkey, also put a banana, and 3 homemade cookies with her lunch. Try to make it healthy. She didn't stay for lunch so when she left I made little one and I a sandwich. We had a banana and juice too. Cleaned the dishes, put a load of wash in and started to color a poster board size Christmas tree for my daughters classroom. Did that till the should started to hurt, then put the clothes in the dryer and another in the washer. Started my Spark point page for awhile and after went and got the mail, brought the trash barrel back to the garage. The wind blow it over and broke the top and they are to take it back this week. It wasn't broke when I put it out there and if they didn't set it down right and it fell I can't be responsible. It is terribly cold today so there wasn't much time outside.

Played with little one for awhile and then it was time to get dinner. Now, I had it planned to eat what I had for Thanksgiving and I let her know what I had. She didn't like cranberry sauce or sweet potatoes so I made mashed potatoes and some string beans. Fixed her plate with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and string beans. Well she started to eat and I was told the dressing was no good. I let her know it was good she just didn't like it so I took it off her plate. I finally got to sit down with my food and when she saw the cranberry sauce she wanted that. So what was said to like was not and what was said to not like she liked. Can you keep it straight. All the time I am getting up to fix hers my food is getting cold. She is all done and I am just starting and she wants ice cream but i was going to finish eating. She got her ice cream and I cleaned up the dishes and took the clothes out of the drier and put the others in. After I started to color the tree again and I was going to stop but I said the heck with it and finished. Then I had little one put on thenew clothes so I can sew them for her.

She wanted me to draw a Christmas tree for her to color so I did. She colored and I worked on the Spark page. Then it was time to get all the things she pulled out back where they belonged She loves to draw and spends a lot of time doing it. I have to keep her in paper. She has all the pictures hangin on all my doors. I use old medical bills things that come in the mail that have a clean side because she goes through 10, 15 pieces of paper a day. She is getting good at drawling for her age and I am showing her some ways to change things a little.

She wanted some grapes and to play a game so I stopped this blog and got her the grapes. I walked back in the kitchen and she is spitting the skins out from the grapes. She never did that and now she is. Can't keep up with what is now and what was then.

We are going to play a game so I am going to close. All have a wonderful Sunday. Praise the Lord and spend time with family and friends. Love the Spark people and visit your friends. Catch you tomorrow with a smile.

TURKEY FLEW AWAY TODAY

Friday, November 26, 2010

November26, 2010 Friday

Today I slept in a little because I did so much yesterday and didn't get to bed till late about 2 am but that is nothing new. I just needed the extra rest for the body.
After I ate I started cleaning what was left in the kitchen from last night and it didn't take too long. I don't like to leave things but I was exhausted. As usual I don't know when to stop but I am doing better.

Did some walking and step, ski machines and a few other exercises today. We have to get back to our routine after the holiday.

My daughter came by so I could help her do the grant for college on the computer. Little one was with her and in a much better mood. My daughter has to go back to college and finish getting her BA and now she has 9 more classes but when she stopped she only had 4. They can't go for pre K they have to take courses from pre-K to 4th grade. So that means more courses. She has to do this to keep her job although she has her Associate's and that would keep her job but she might be bumped down to assisant teacher instead of teacher. I hope the home front helps her when she starts with the housework and gives her time to study.

They hit the glazed donuts and little one and her will be here tomorrow so they will finish them. On the way out they hit the cookies and each took 3 to 5 but that is what I made them for. I will make her a salad for work tomorrow with some of the turkey.

Tonight I decided no turkey because when I put my food in the nutrition section I was really surprised about the lack of vitamin's in the food. They had some but where no where near the mg that I needed. I did the calorie, carbs, fat, and protein but iron, calcium and the other vitamins I have on it way low. I had a different dinner tonight. I made liver and onions, stewed tomatoes with bread and thicken, potato salad from the potatoes I grew. I took real small ones about as big as a large marble we use to shot marbles with. Cooked them with three eggs and when they where done I ran hot water over them and peeled them by just rubbing them in my fingers. I cut them in half or quarter used 2 of the eggs, miracle whip, mustard, vinegar, onion, celery seed, and a little relish. I ate a spoonful of each thing and a 2 by 3 piece of thin liver and onion gravy. glass of Gatorade with it. Hope this meal will bring up the vitamins. I try and maintain all the sections of vitamins and I make what goes with the calorie everyday all the time on mark but low side. I ate a couple of oatmeal cookies so no pie and more fruit.

Time to call it quits and do a few more things around here. It is to get cold and I have to make sure my plants stay safe in the garage.

Everyone take care and get a good nights sleep. Thank God for all of the good things that happen to me and the Spark people site that gives me so much to do.
Catch you tomorrow with bells on.

THANKSGIVING

Thursday, November 25, 2010

November 25, 2010 Thursday

Today I slept in because it was a late night. My daughter didn't get off work and to my house till after 1 am and then I had things to do and lock up, you know the routine at night. I got up several times during the night and as tired as I was had a hard time going to sleep.

As soon as I got up I put the turkey breast in and it was a 6 + pound so 3 to4 hours. I have a clay roaster that it fit into nicely and it bake's meats really nice. I ate a bacon, egg biscuit, orange juice, and tea later. Since they showed that tea depletes iron from foods I don't drink it with meals anymore. Then I made the dressing and when I got it done I worked on my Spark points. Then I made the sweet potato casserole from the Spark recipes. After each recipe I rested and worked on Spark. I made a pumpkin pie and by that time the casserole was done so I put that in. A pecan pie came next and it also came off the Spark recipe page.
Then I made oatmeal butterscotch, oatmeal raisin cookies. I thought I had a peanut butter cookie mix and it was chocolate chip so I just made that. The last thing was cressant rolls and my back was done. I cleaned up part way and I may finish tonight but I may leave it till tomorrow and let my back rest.

I sat down before I made the cookies and ate dinner. I had 1 spoonful of dressing, sweet potato casserole, corn, cranberry sauce, 1 piece of turkey and it was on a dessert plate and it was not piled high just small portions. I also had a 4 oz glass of white wine. For dessert I cut a 1 inch wide slice of the pecan and pumpkin pie about an hour after I ate. It was really good and I wish I had, had time when my children where young to cook. I cooked all our meals but it was always rushed except on weekends when I had time. Then I would cook 2 to 3 meats along with a cassarole for the week. This way when I arrived home after 5 I could still get dinner on the table at a decent time.

We always think of what we wish we could have done differently to make life nice for our families but we do the best we can with what we have to work with at that time. It is not always the way we wish to do it but that is life.

I have alot of good food here so if anyone comes by they can eat. I love the Spark recipes and have a lot in my cookbook. The ones that I want to use right aways I copy then and I have a lot written down. I just have to get them organized so I can find them without going through everything. That can be a good winter job.

I hope everyone had enough to eat but not too much and had fun with family and friends. I will see if I can get some more work done. I will catch you tomorrow on our Spark peoples site and I am glad we have it so we can visit.

I love to cook big meals for holidays. I have leftovers but not so many that I can't deal with them and it will be nice to be able to relax today and reheat some of the food that is left. I tried taking small portions of everything and did not feel deprived.

WILD DAY

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

November 24, 2010 Wednesday

Today started out crazy to say the least. When i got up instead of showing and getting dressed i went and made the lunch for my daughter, ham, cheese, lettuce, tomato sandwich, banana, 2 cookies. Then I made the breakfast biscuits with scrapple and egg. Daughter left for work and i gave little one her breakfast with chocolate milk and went and finished getting dressed. I put my makeup on and then little one got her shower and dressed. Problem was she decided today was going to go at her speed and not mine with a sour face. We finally got out the door in time and by the way I woke up with gout in my right wrist and palm. Definitely what you wanted to bowl with. Took 800 mg of ibriprobin and prayed.

Bowl was disastrous to say the least. I picked up the ball and well lucky I didn't drop it. Didn't bowl my average at all in either game but we ended up winning 3. It wasn't all my hand because by the 2rd game i hardly felt the pain, out of mind. The lanes hadn't been cleaned and there was no oil. My ball no matter where I throw it went left. My team mate which bowls strikes got splits. His ball would get right to the pocket and move. It is a what the heck kind of day and we just laughed. What else can you do but take what you can get.

After I bowled I let little one bowl a game and tried to show her how to throw and where to stand. She did okay , if I could get her to throw straight all the time she would be good but that will come. After we went shopping for some clothes for her and you can't find a turtleneck top any where. Did the forget it is winter and we layer clothes.

Came home, ate lunch, clean the kitchen and sat down to get my back settled. She fell asleep and I was going to cook but every time I started to get something start she was there. So I gave up and will cook tomorrow. We played some games, drew picture and then had dinner. After dinner she had another shower to wash her hair and we played some more.

She has settled down know and Mom should be here soon so i am going to close because I have a few more things to do before she comes.

I wish you all a lovely Thanksgiving and with all the blessings God can give for and and next year.

Love the Spark people and learn.

Catch you tomorrow.

    Gout? Sounds painful.

Be Blessed today, my friend. Hope you are feeling better.

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends.
