List your reasons/excuses on why your diets and exercise plans have not been well executed in the past. Give 3 or 4 reasons and for each write a strategy that will keep you on track fro 8 weeks. Letís learn from our past behaviors and make this our best Challenger ever!

Diet Reasons/Excuses:
For me it has been eating to few calories. The main thing I have learned to lose weight (for me) is I have to eat the proper foods every 3 to 4 hours a day.
I the past I have tried:
Low Carbs
Low Calories
and many other Diets over the past 5 or 6 years and they worked for a while and then I would gain weight again.

Diet Strategy:
1) Eat with in 30 minutes when I get up.
2) Drink half my weight in ounces of water everyday.
3) Eat the proper foods in each Phase of The Fast Metabolism Diet every 3/4 hours a day.
4) Get at least 7 hours of sleep.
I cook or chop and slice everyday or so, so I can have my Homemade Fast Foods and stay on Phase 1 for 2 days, Phase 2 for 2 days and Phase 3 for 3 days. This has worked for me since July 1, 2013, When I stay full on the proper foods, I donít want junk foods and I feel great physically and about myself. I have finally found my Way of Life when it come to food.

Exercise Reasons/Excuses:
I have a problem staying on track with exercise. Itís all or nothing with me. I get started on a plan and life happens and I get off track. Then itís really hard to get started again.

Exercise Strategy:
On Monday, Oct. 8, 2013 I started 3 new 6 week challenges. Since I have lost weight over the past 3 months I have noticed my muscles need help. So, my challenge is to tone up with Callenatics and
1) The hundred push ups Training Program
2) The two hundred squats training program.
3) The one fifty dips training program.
I need to increase my strength training and I thought this might help. Wish me luck in sticking with it!

    Ignore me if you like your exercise strategy (because if you enjoy that one, changing it won't be a benefit to you!), but if you want to avoid time consuming workouts, here's some relevant info:
1. Instead of doing hundreds of repetitions (which builds endurance, not really strength -- after a certain point), try doing everything VERY SLOWLY (as in, 3 seconds to lower, 3 seconds still, then 3 seconds to raise in a pushup/squat) with up to 20 reps. Once that's too easy, you can move on to varieties (

2. For squats, starting with nothing is great, but if you then add weight, you'll see much better definition in your legs than unweighted squats. Because I don't have access to a squat rack (you can use a Smith's machine, but I need functional strength, so constrained weightlifting isn't for me), I use dumbbells: downside, my squat isn't high, because I have to be able to lift the dumbbells!
3. Be VERY CAREFUL training tricep dips. If your hands aren't far enough apart, you can harm your elbows; if they're too close, you won't get the same result. I find tricep kickbacks (with weights: start low, but then increase weight rather than repetitions) and chair dips much less damaging.

The last 3 days of this last week. I have gone off The FMD at night. I have had cookies and ice cream bars and on the 28th day I splurged and had my favorite Mexican foods or I would have done better. I am not proud of myself.

If you read my 7/28/13 Blog ~ 14 you know that I said,

Why I Love Our 5% Challenge Teams and especially the team I am on this time, The Casual Travelers

emoticon We have a close net group of women who encourage and support each other everyday. No other teams I have been a part of, (even the ones I am a leader of) have constantly posted and have been so active. We have the greatest leaders on all the 5% Challenge Private Teams.

emoticon We are all working together to lose 5% of our individual weight within a 8 week span in all four seasons, (Spring, Summer, Fall, & Winter).

My hat is off to the wonderful leader who started these 5% Challenge Teams KALISWALKER and her great team leaders on each of the 12 teams. emoticon

2013~Blog~15 ~ 1st week of 2nd 28 days DONE & lost more!

I started my 2nd 28 day cycle of the Fast Metabolism Diet on July 29th

It is getting easier to get it right. I finished my 1st 7 days yesterday and I was down 2 more pounds. On Mon. (Day 1) I was at 168.4 lbs and Sun. (Day 7) I was at 166.4 lbs.

There are 3 Phases I do in One Week.
Phase 1 is 2 days of - Unwinding Stress and Calming the Adrenals.
Phase 2 is 2 days of - Unlocking Stored Fat and Building Muscle.
Phase 3 is 3 days of - Unleashing the Burn - Hormones, Heart, and Heat.
My favorite is Phase 3.

I started Phase 1 this morning and this is what I have on Mon. and Tue.
Breakfast: Grain and Fruit
Snack: Fruit
Lunch: Grain, Protein, Fruit, and Veggie
Snack: Fruit
Dinner: Grain, Protein, and Veggie
Exercise: At least one day of vigorous cardio. Cardio is perfectly suited for high-carb Phase 1.
There is a specific list of food to choose from on each Phase.

On Phase 2, Wed. and Thur.
Breakfast: Protein and Veggie
Snack: Protein
Lunch: Protein and Veggie
Snack: Protein
Dinner: Protein and Veggie
Exercise: Strength Training at least one day.
There is a specific list of food to choose from on each Phase.

On Phase 3, Fri., Sat., and Sun.
Breakfast: Fruit, Fat/Protein, Grain, and Veggie
Snack: Veggie Fat/Protein
Lunch: Fat/Protein, Fruit, and Veggie
Snack: Veggie Fat/Protein
Dinner: Veggie Fat/Protein Optional Grain
Exercise: At least one day of stress-reducing activity like yoga, or deep breathing, or enjoy a massage. A massage increases blood flow to fatty areas of your body, reduces cortical, and does the work you want for your body during Phase 3.

I love this Fast Metabolism Diet. I have lost a total of 9 lbs in 35 days. 7 lbs in the first 28 days and 2 this last week and this morning I was down another 0.60 of a pound. I have never been able to do that on any other diet!

2013~Blog~14 ~ Iím So Excited I can hardly contain myself!!!

My monthly goal started out to be lose 5lbs a month. I lost 7 lbs. in 28 days.
And a goal to Read The Fast Metabolism Diet book ď by Haylie Pomroy. I read it!

July 1st I started on my 1st 28 day Fast Metabolism Diet, (I think of it as My Fast Metabolism Life Style now).

The first thing I did was give up my 2 cups of coffee in the morning. It was not as hard as I thought it would be and now I donít even miss it.

I donít think I have ever eaten so much food in a day in my life and I did not think I could do that. But, I ate 3 meals, 2 snacks and drank 80 to 90 ounces of water every day for 28 days. I was Never Hungry.

The reason I went on the Fast Metabolism Diet was to repair my metabolism. Last year I started doing a lot of research on why it is so hard for women over fifty to lose weight and our metabolism and hormones is the answer I kelp finding.

After years of yo-yo dieting, having a hysterectomy when I was 28 (no ovaries so no estrogen) and going through chemo treatment at age 42, I thought it made a lot of sense after reading the book for me to try it. I think it is the best decision I have ever made when it comes to dieting.

In these 28 days a lot has changed with my body. My skin looks smoother and tighter, hair is thicker, nails are stronger, I sleep much better, I have a lot more energy and I have lost more weight and inches in the last 28 days than I have any month in the last 5 or more years and I have documented my weight and inches (losses and gains) almost every month of 2012 & 2013 and the 1st of every year since 2007 on my SP page so I could learn from my diets.

But, my metabolism was so screwed up that I was very happy to lose what I have this first time through. I have gained so much more than just losing weight, Iím gaining my health. I no longer have to take blood pressure medicine.

I plan on doing another 28 days and another until I reach my goal weight (GW 125 lbs). Then, I will make this way of life My Life Style for the rest of my days on this earth.

I am starting my second 28 day cycle on July 29, 2013.

  I am starting my 4th week of the Fast Metabolism Diet I have lost 8 lbs so far and never hungry on this plan. I also am going to continue this way of eating. I have 75lbs to loose so will need to continue the 28 day cycle for several months and then will continue to stay at goal. I encourage anyone to check out the book.

I just want you to know that you can buy it online cheaper but, I have both and I find it easier to be able to refer to the hard copy. Also, if you have and iphone you can get an app which would be great to have. I have an android and the app is not available for it yet. Please, let me know how you like the book.

    Wow, I am going to look into your eating plan. I was a chubby kid and was a good weight in my 20's but had a hysterectomy at 29. Been a yo-yo dieter myself for most of my life. Have a big birthday in January and want to be 25 pounds lighter than I am now, preferable 30. Have been losing weight slowly and steady this go-around but enough is enough!
