Finally vacation pictures

Wednesday, May 18, 2011

Well I've done it. Finally got SOME of my vaction pictures downloaded for anybody who would like to take a look. Not enough room to put all of them on but I picked out the best or the ones I thought were good enough for people to look at. Oh and I did add the pictures of hubby climbing out the door window after one of our storms here(someone did ask to see that).

Here we go again

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Well Mother Nature certainly has a pick on the Maritimes it seems this winter. I swear we are getting a storm every 2 days. All these storms are playing havoc with my fitness. Haven't been to Zumba for over 1 1/2 weeks, classes keep getting cancelled. Can't get out to walk, treadmill isn't working and some nights I just don't have the energy to work out for 30 minutes. When I can, I sneak in some movements while standing at the sink or in the bedroom infront of the mirror or sometimes infront of the T.V. The lack of exercise is what's holding me back with my weight lost I'm sure.
As I sit here typing all of this( on a Saturday night) it's snowing again. Calling for another 10 cm. Let it come,it's a long weekend here on PEI and I have Monday off emoticon. Enough ranting about the weather,in six weeks I'm heading to a warmer and sunnier place.
That's my life this week in a nutshell.
Spark On.

A break from the storms

Wednesday, February 09, 2011

It's Wednesday February 9. Just got through another storm,in fact it was two storms back to back according to the Weather Network. Well the morning really didn't start out so great. With all the ground drifting, all schools here on PEI were on a system wide shutdown. But by 8:30 it was beautiful outside. The sun was shining, with cold temperatures and windy. Just perfect for a walk. So for a walk I did go. Enjoyed every minute of it. Felt real good but now as I write this I'm feeling very sleepy for some reason. Got to shake it off. Supper is waiting to be made and no time for a quick nap.

That's my life in a nut shell!!

I didn't get out for a walk like I wanted to, I had a fall at a Mcdonalds in Moncton two days ago and so I've been taking care of all the bumps and bruises and haven't felt like moving much...tomorrow is another day though so back to walking again. Have a great week. emoticon

Can't get a waether break

Sunday, February 06, 2011

Here we are once again, another stormy weekend in the Maritimes. The sun was out for a while yesterday but that's the calm before the storm. Now today is a whole different story. Woke to freezing rain and then rain hitting the bedroom window. At some point during the night about 5 cm of snow fell. About an hour after getting up the freezing rain changed to snow and has not stopped. The wind is picking up as the day goes on and things are drifting in. I look out the upstairs window and I can barely see the trailer sitting on the lot next door. I can make out the drift across the middle of our road. I know our back door is drifted in cause the daughter tried to get out to her car and had a hard time getting the screen door pushed open. I'm kind of hoping for a snow day tomorrow from work. It will take us a good part of the day to dig out and then we will have to wait for the plows to come through and open our road.
We'll just get dug out and another storm is in the forecast for Tuesday night and I'm suppose to work that evening emoticon. Glad this month is short but it sames long now and we are only into it not even a week yet.
That's my life in a nut shell for this week. emoticon

We had a foot of snow last night and dh was out snow blowing for hours...he cut through some extra trails in the yard for Dave so he could get to the treeline to do his business...otherwise he won't go where we can see it in the yard. I can barely see out my bedroom window the snow coming off the roofs has gotten up over the window and there's only one corner that light can get through now. Dave and I went on a great walk tonight, did almost 3.5 kms then when we got home he made snow angels and I chased him all over the yard. Looks like we'll be getting more snow this week too. Don't know how much higher we can pile it! Have a great week!

Another storm

Thursday, January 27, 2011

Another storm has arrived here in the Maritimes. Getting nasty outside. Hubby left for work and called shortly after from the truck telling me to stay home as it was getting bad out. He's not back yet, waiting for him to get home.
Weather Network is also looking at another storm for Saturday and Sunday. God,please give us a break.
Not sure what came over me yesterday but I gave into some craving and I know I will not have a lost in pounds this week for sure( unless it shows up next week), Either way I will pick myself up and dust myself off and get back on track. I will not let one day ruin what I have achieved in 3 weeks. emoticon
My shoulder is getting better and will try some cardio today. There will be no Zumba tonight because of the storm, wasn't going, wanted to let my shoulder rest and heal.
January is quickly passing and soon it will be February. The hunt for clothes for my planned trip is not panning out. Having a hard time finding clothes I will feel comfortable in or in my price range. Just have to keep looking, not many stores to shop at and I don't travel to Moncton to shop. Last time I was to Moncton was 8 maybe 9 years ago. I don't travel much here or off island.
My life in a nut shell.

I shop at Penningtons, they are at least getting more updated styles in. Thank god they don't make blouses with those fake sailer bibs or like maternity wear anymore. I also had a pretty lousy weigh in but I'm not letting it get to me. I was out shoveling snow and playing with Dave for over a hour today. Finally the girl across the road came over with her plow and took pity on me. My shoulder is sore too but I think it's cause I woke up last week with a sore neck and it's aggravated by anything I do. Dave is bored, my dh is in PEI for the cadet Biathlon this weekend and he is really missing him. He got up on the couch and looked out the window with his head on the back of the couch and just stared out the window and moped for a hour! He's pouting right now cause I'm not playing with him, we've been playing for a couple of hours already. We got enough snow that it's up to his chin now...lots of fun playing in it. Hope you can find something on line, I don't know how easy it is to return stuff when it doesn't fit but it's worth a try. emoticon

Winter storms in the Maritimes, there is nothing quite like them. The are unpredictable and awesome to watch. As long as you are safe at home, just enjoy the show.

As for you search for clothes, I agree with others, check on-line.

I understand the budget thing, completely & totally. It's also why I don't go to Addition-Elle or Pennington's with a credit card that has credit left on it. :-P You said you're looking for clothes that you'll feel comfortable in -- what styles are you looking for, as opposed to what you're finding? I'm going to slide over to Zellers later today, and this store has a poor selection, but they always have the Above Average section. If you can give me an idea of what you're looking for, I could at least check out Zellers to see if it's even an option for you to stop in.

Spark on, because you're not shovelling today! :-D

I am in Nova Scotia but I am from the Island and most of my family are there. I'm on the south shore so most of the time the Island gets snow, we get rain. Hopefully the storms won't be too bad.

I have watched all those storms hit the east coast...I sure do not envy you. It is hard to be stuck at home.

Try looking on the internet for clothes
