Today, I woke with a sore throat!!! I hope it's just allergies after working in the storage units.
My organizing projects (storage units 1,2, & 3) are coming along. It will be many weeks before I really see any progress, BUT the first 2 days, I did make three trips (loaded my van) to donate stuff and one trip to a document shredder. And they took my cardboard boxes!! I am having fun going through all the stuff, but just can't believe how much we've accumulated over the years. I have moved most of my Dad's stuff to unit #3, and have prepared unit #2 for the arrival of 5 small sailboats. (Oh, that's the main reason why I'm doing this. My women's sailing group was told to move them for the summer from the main Sailing Center. They have a very big Junior Sailing Program during the summer and our boats are in the way. These particular boats are many years old and made of wood, so we want to make sure we take care of them.)
No more shed work until next Monday. I decided I don't want to wear out a good thing and just clean once a week.
Today was sailing day. We completed 4 races and it was a wonderful, beautiful day. Nice breeze and not too hot this morning.
The diet is going well, so far. No major carb cravings, yet. Tonight we're having leftover prime rib (made it on Sunday), and a big salad. I guess I must not feel well, because it doesn't sound too good yet. Maybe a cocktail will help.

It's been quite a while since I blogged last, so I'll just drop by and start again.
My husband and I started a lo-carb diet yesterday (I prefer a lo-fat), but just to get him to think about losing weight, I'll do anything to help. We both definitely NEED to drop some weight; his goal 50 lbs and mine is 30 lbs.
Last night we started with a wonderful marinated chicken breast and salad, tonight some broiled Tiliapia.
As for exercise, my goal is to get 10,000+ steps in everyday. Yesterday, I also was able to get some "strength" exercise in, too. My major project for the next month is to eliminate 2 of 3 storage units full of STUFF. Over the years of family deaths (Grandmother, Mother, Mother-in-law, Brother and moving my Dad from a house to a Skilled Nursing Home, and of course our needless collection of things), we have THREE large units full of furniture and what-nots. Yesterday, I made two trips to donate small furniture, etc. Today, another trip and then some to the trash. There are many, many more boxes to be gone through (Why do we keep these things!!)
I do work from home, I'm an Accountant, and am still working on tax extensions for my clients. So I'll have to work them into my cleaning schedule. Since our daily temperatures have reached the high 80's now, I can only "shed" clean for about 3 hours. Planning on that same schedule today.
As for my diet, today, I feel good today. No carb withdrawals, yet!!
We also have band practice tonight, another item on my plate. I do like being busy.
I hope to blog regularly, with my accomplishments and no-so accomplishments. At least I will be able to see my progress.

I'm so excited!! Last January, bought a pair of jeans so I could be comfortable (size 16). Since we live in Florida shorts are what I wear most of the time, so I needed a pair to go out some place, at the time. My husband told me to just go buy some jeans that fit and be done with it. So I did. And I put my other jeans on the top shelf of my closet with another pair from the year before (same problem.)
Last night I tried on my jeans and they were way too big!! I pulled down last year's fat-jeans and they, too, were too big. So I dug out my other jeans (size 12), and they fit just right.
I know you're supposed to see your clothes change, and I have noticed a little here and there with my shorts, etc., but this was a wonderful difference!!
Thanks to all my Spark Friends for their support and challenges, that has kept me going.

I want to thank all of my different teams that have asked, "Where am I???". Well, it's been a very crazy week!
As most of my Spark Friends know, I'm a member of a sailing group. Well, last week I was elected Co-Captain. It is a great honor to be in this position. BUT it will keep me very busy!! Along with my own business (Accountant), and being my Dad's caregiver, and being a wife, I think I may have taken on a bit too much.
I have already decided, that each day, no matter the schedule is, I WILL do some kind of exercise. Whether it be a walk outside, WII exercise, or sailing, I am planning on doing something for myself. (I have to, or else I'll go nuts!!!)
SO, my wonderful TEAMS, if I disappear from posting for a couple of days, I promise I will catch up every other day. Please be patient with me, I AM working out!!!
I love my life, but it is really kind of crazy.
PS. Today my printer died about 7:30 AM, so I had to add a trip to Office Depot to get another! What a pain!!!
