Fitness test results BLC 25

So part of the weekend challenge is a fitness test. Plus bonus points if I blog about it so here goes.

Honestly I surprised myself with my results.

I got 25 crunches done in a minute.
I got 25 modified push-ups done. I usually do wall push-ups but I did them on the floor modified today and I shocked myself with finishing 25. I thought the timer was never going to beep. Lol!!!!
The step up test had my calves burning!! So I hope to have improvement in my heart rate as I go along.
The 1 mile walk was 20 minutes. I've slowed down since I've slacked some on my walking. But I'm hoping to improve on this as well. The weather is getting really nice so I'm planning to do more walking/running.

Some goals have been set and now I have a starting point.

SMART Goals for BLC

BLC 24 has begun and we were given the weekend challenge of making goals and a plan to accomplish them.

My Smart goals are:
1. Lose 10 lbs in 12 weeks. How? By tracking everything!!! By eating no more than 1600 calories a day.
2. Drink a minimum of 64 oz of water a day.
3. Stay focused on the weekend. How? By focusing on my goals and not on the short term
4. Eat a minimum of 3 servings of fruit and veggies a day. How? By being prepared and having them ready and available at all times.
5. Exercise at least 20 minutes 5 days a week. (This will help goal 1)
6. Add strength training to my routine

    You sure did put a list of goals out there for all to see, and now, you'll be held accountable, by God, you, and everybody that follows you on SP! However, I have confidence in you that emoticon !!! If I have to be right by your side cheering emoticon I will be! If you need to hear my booming voice emoticon to get you going, or give words of encouragement, I'm your buddy! I be with you, to goal and beyond! Yes, I said beyond, as this is a lifestyle change. Exercise

I know that these 2 workouts are 2 very different forms of exercise but as I've done Zumba alot I wanted to try out my 30 Day Shred DVD's that I've had for months. My personal preference after exercising this morning (Yes I won that battle) is that I prefer the Zumba type exercise. I like to dance and feel the music rather than do "static" exercises like lunges, squats and jumping jacks for 20 minutes. Don't get me wrong Jillian had me huffing and puffing and I had to take more than 1 breath break but it's not an exercise DVD that I would wake up and love to do like Zumba or another type of DVD.

I was very happy with myself this morning for dragging myself out of bed at 5:45 to exercise and measure. I haven't done either in a pretty good while. I won the battle and didn't regret it (as I knew I wouldn't) but boy do hate getting out of the bed in the morning!! I sometimes think about all of you my dear spark friends and what you all are doing for your health and realize that I have to work for this. It's obviously not going to be handed to me so I have to make conscious decisions to make my health and my journey better. Thank you for the encouragement that you give me each and everyday!!

    You're on the right track, and you'll get an A HA moment when it really clicks in, and you'll realize that you could have had all of this before. Why did it take me so long, to get here? I actually love dancing, also, and I do got to Curves and do their ZUMBA every Saturday. It's a great place to kill off some of those fat cells, and get back to the basics. Keep moving forward!!!

    I have that 30 day shred video too! I just traded my daughter my pilates dvd's for a while. I am going to start it on Monday.

    I love dancing too so I really get you. I actually love sports. I used to play tennis and any other ball game going back in the day. Had to stop after my knee op from a slip on the tennis court (cheap tackies) Another thing I L.O.V.E doing is rowing. Its physically challenging and therapeutic at the same time.

Today was a busy day! Started out very busy at work then left work a little early and went with my DH's family to the aquarium and toured that and did the IMAX theater. It was a beautiful day today! Sad to see the cold weather moving in tomorrow. Needless to say I made my step goal for the day plus some. Woohoo!!

Just catching up on spark then gonna do some crocheting and reading!! Sweet dreams all!

    It's cold by me too! We actually had some snow on the ground during the week. Too early, right?

Well today was much better than yesterday. I did better food wise and activity wise. Always room for improvement but its better than yesterday. I've had a wild and crazy day (week rather). We've had all sorts of computer issues at work, my friend ( whom I consider my 2nd mom) lost her mother so we had funeral today, busy busy busy with patients today which is a good thing and more to come tomorrow and the weekend Just thinking about all of it makes me tired. Lol!!

Just a little catch up and I'll be on my way to sweet dreams!!
