So Friday I receive a call from my grandson asking if I would pick him up another pumpkin on the way over to his house because the one he carved at our house last weekend has rotted. So a little while later DH and I brought him the pumpkin he requested than the three of us left to go to his school to paint a ceiling tile. Our creation turned out to be a mix mash of colors, animals, a rainbow, sun and more. Not exactly sure what the theme was with its flying animals, standing lizard and Olympic climbing squirrel but we had fun nevertheless. After we were through my grandson asked if he could do another one with us next year so I think our efforts were successful.
Saturday, the grandson and his soccer team, The Eagles WON their final game of the season 5-1. They finished UNDEFEATED! DH and I were happy we could be there to see it! After the game families took pictures of the team mates. There are 3 little girls on the same team as my grandson who appear to like him… A LOT! His mom, dad and I convinced the little guy to stand next to two of them for a photo op. He folded his arms shyly, grinned and did as we asked but just as we got him to stand a bit closer, the 3rd little girl happily popped up on the other side of him. My grandson quickly covered his face with his hands as if to say, “Oh No, I’m surrounded!” It was so cute but unfortunately no one got a picture of it. Next up for the grandson sport-wise, BASKETBALL!
Afterwards DH and I headed back to where we live for our town’s annual Halloween Festival. Our daughter, grandson and Dan (daughter’s long time boyfriend) followed. At the festival we met up with a good friend, JB who joined my grandson in costume. Festival goers loved it. I'm not sure who was more thrilled to see them, the kids, or the adults.
The festival itself was great! It was packed full of games, prizes, costumes, a parade, music, food, fun, and more. We had a splendid day together and the grandson came away with wonderful memories and a pumpkin full of candy and other treats. I am pleased my grandson had an awesome time and that everything went well. Could not have asked for more!
As for today, I relaxed. I did A LOT of walking yesterday (very proud of that), up and down hilly streets and my legs and knees are letting me know I got in a good workout. Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend too!
