Another pound bites the dust! Can't believe there is only 7 weeks left until the end of the year. This year has gone by so fast. At least it has to me. Of course these last weeks are HOLIDAY ONES. With days full of decorating, crafting, baking, shopping, wrapping, and... EATING. The eating part at this time of the year seems to be more of a challenge for us Sparkies than anything else. I ran across a blog the other day which suggested circling the days on a calendar that you have a party, function or celebration to plan or attend and let them be your "FREE DAYS". This sure beats winging the entire holiday season in my book so I plan to try it. Anything to prevent an all-out assault on every Christmas cookie or bowl of stuffing in sight is a GOOD THING!
As for today, DH and I plan to take the grandson to Toys R Us after school to check out what's new and make his Christmas List. I hope I bring enough paper. Perhaps I should go the way of a LEGAL PAD just in case? Anyway it should be FUN! Who knows I might find something I would like. After all age is just a number, right?
Have an awesome week everyone!

I have been notified by email that I have been nominated a Sparkpeople Motivator. OMG! WOW!! I am not only shocked but very pleasantly so. I still can't believe it! In fact I think I have bruises from pinching myself. I want to say thank you to those responsible for this honor. And it is truly an honor! It means a great deal to me.
I have never considered myself a motivator, of anything. I am just a regular person. A person who has fought, and sometimes lost the battle with obesity. It has been a long road to get to the point where I am currently at, a road I am still very much traveling on. I have good days and not so good ones. I have succeeded at times and failed miserably at others. I have highs and lows just like everyone else. I may continue to experience bumps along the way but that is okay. I will deal. I am not at goal yet but for the first time in my life I have no doubt I will make it.
Sparkpeople and the friends I have made here have helped me in more ways than I can ever say. I am grateful for each and every one of them and for the advice, support and sometimes shoulders they lend me. I am moving forward, changing what I can and learning, sometimes rather slowly to accept what I can't. I am once and for all taking the steps necessary to tackle my issues with food and my weight. I am glad that I am on this journey, and I am glad, very glad I found Sparkpeople to share it with!
