Fit Tests Start Again!

Hey Hey Spark Peeps!

So much has been going on in my life (all pretty good things) and I feel like I've really slacked on my sparking, BUT I'm back at it yet again with my INSANE workouts! My AM workout buddy (who I would be lost without) had a skiing injury and was down and out for the month of January, which really took a tool on my workouts because having that accountability partner REALLY helps me to be committed to my workouts! We are now doing an Insanity/T25 workout challenge to get our butts back in gear!

I want to enter my fitness test results for the first time because I feel like I'm starting a new will be interesting to see where I end up this time compared to last time:

Switch Kicks-107

Power Jacks-32

Power Knees-70

Power Jumps-11

Rotations (Globe Jumps)-6

Suicide Jumps-4 (OUCH!)

Push Up Jacks-7

Oblique Twists-21

INSANITY is such an intense and GREAT workout that really kicks my butt but helps me to feel great mentally and physically!!

I'll keep you updated on my fitness test results and overall progress!

Happy Summer Vacation everyone!!

I went back and reviewed my fitness tracker and found that I've done approximately 55 Insanity workouts! That's a lot of Insanity and I am very proud of accomplishing that because Insanity is no joke and is an amazing workout for me!!

As last week was our last week of school and my after school workout buddies and I will be taking a bit of a hiatus from Insanity, I talked them into doing another round of Fit Tests.

Here are the latest results:

Switch Kicks-70--94--105--121--121 (+51 from start)

Power Jacks-27--37--39--47--44 (+17 from start)

Power Knees-66--70--70--78--82 (+16 from start)

Power Jumps-10--13--17--17--17 (+7 from start)

Rotations (Globe Jumps)-5--5--8--9--9 (+4 from start)

Suicide Jumps-7--7--8--9--9 (+2 from start)

Push Up Jacks-2--8--11--13--15 (+13 from start)

Oblique Twists-23--33--31--38--34 (+11 from start)

I have increased everything from when I started this Insanity Challenge. I really felt like I pushed myself to get these results, so even though some went down a bit from the last fit test, I refuse to get down on myself because I put forth my best effort and definitely "DUG DEEPER!"

I have joined some friends at work and have started doing INSANITY twice on some days....WHAT??!! Nuts, I know.

Also, my morning workout buddy decided that we would go back a couple weeks in the INSANITY program and start fresh with the MAX workouts...again...WHAT??!! So, I'm not really sure what day we are on now with our 60+++ day Insanity Challenge, but I know that I am doing A LOT of Insanity and I feel really great!!

60 Day Insanity Challenge-Fitness Test...Take 3!!

We are on week 45ish of Insanity and were overdue for a Fit today was the day. Here are my results (comparison of each of the three fitness tests we've done). I haven't even compared my results yet, so as I'm writing this, I'm filled with nervous anticipation to see the results!

Switch Kicks-70--94--105

Power Jacks-72--37 (What the heck happened here??)--39 (Now I'm wondering if I switched my numbers around the first time?? LOL)

Power Knees-66--70--70

Power Jumps-10--13--17

Rotations (Globe Jumps)-5--5--8

Push Up Jacks-2--8--11

Oblique Twists-23--33--31

Interesting results. I'm happy to see improvements overall and I see some areas to work on! It's all about progress!

I'm really getting into Insanity now, even though it is pretty much torture every day because it is so hard. I just feel myself getting more and more fit and I want that feeling to continue. I'm not seeing results on the scale, but I am seeing results in how my clothes fit and my body is becoming more tone. My eating habits leave room for improvement (SHOCKER...NOT!).

We have about two more weeks of the challenge, so I'll update again then.

Runnin' Runnin'...

I decided it was time to get back into doing I signed up for the St. Patty's Day 5k in the county I teach in. emoticon
I didn't want to do it by my lonesome, so I asked a friend of mine to do it with me. It was a game time decision, but she agreed! She is just getting into improving her health by doing the Body by Vi Challenge and doing some exercising. She told me from the get go that she wouldn't be able to go fast and I think she was pretty nervous, but I told her, "No worries...we're in this together." emoticon I hadn't done a 5k for 2 years. In fact, it was exactly two years as the last 5k I did was the St. Patty's Day 5k when I was in my early stages of pregnancy with my little girl. So...we did our thing and as I promised, I stuck with her. It was challenging because I'm a little competitive by nature and I wanted to see how well I could do, but a made a promise to her that I would stick with her. We finished the 5k in 45:35...about 9 minutes slower than my slowest time when I was previously into 5ks. Here's the funny part...WE PLACED & MEDALED!! I WAS NOT EXPECTING THAT!! I came in 1st for my age group and she came in second...who knew?? emoticon

Fast forward two weeks, and I got suckered into a 10K...WHAT??!! My AM workout buddy asked me to do it with her and after looking at the race site, I decided it looked like a good time. The race was called BunnypaloozA. emoticon So...I asked my friend who did the St. Patty's Day 5k with me if she was down and she said that she wanted to do the 5k version. My goal for this race was to finish in an hour and a half. It was harder than I thought! I had some arm band malfunctions, knee issues & stones in my shoes, but alas, I finished in 1:15:56...ahead of my goal! Woop! My friend finished her 5k in 40:23...what an improvement!! She said, "I just kept thinking of you saying, "Just a little further!" emoticon We both felt an awesome sense of accomplishment and we're ready for what's next!!
