Still in the game

I lost a pound over the Turkey Day holiday. I was visiting friends and we were pretty active chasing kids all day long.
I did pull my back or twisted the wrong way throwing my three year old in the air and catching her. I must have moved the wrong way or something.
I can walk though, I was wanting to keep up my running though. Oh well, I guess walking is still good.

    Yay! And OUCH! I hate back issues. Hopefully yours won't be too bad on you - take it a little easy....I think walking is a good remedy. No running for a while!

A little confused!!

Just some questions.. does everyone use the food plan that is laid out for you?
Does everyone do the fitness plan that is also for you?

The sparkteams... confusing.. can anyone elaborate?

    I feel so much better!!! I was starting to get overwhelmed. Having a meal plan is great but my taste buds change daily, which is half the problem. BUT I do try to eat right and healthy with what ever I chose.

    No and no.

I use my own foods and my own fitness plans since day one.

The teams are too numerous and if you join too many you will be overwhelmed by them.
It is too easy to join too many sparkteams. Try to choose wisely and leave any team that doesn't assist you in your journey (there is a 'leave this team' button on every teams main page).

We don't all fit into the same molds - so you need to make your program your own. You can start with the "suggestions" if you will, but they are not recommendations, only suggestions.

This is what SP is all about, helping one another to reach previously thought impossible dreams! The Spark Program works! Start with Stage One and do the steps no matter how silly they seem. I only missed the collage but I might just make one this year for getting me to follow through with exercising!

Hang clothes on the closet door so you can try them on whenever you start to get discouraged! That really works!! Even if they still don't fit, you will know if you are getting closer!

Eat the calories SP tells you to eat! Do not be afraid! Concentrate on your Cardio and you will be burning calories!

Call on me if you need me! That is why I am still here. We all need each other to make this happen!

  I use the Sparks strength training plan they laid out. but i make my own food and cardio plan. i had a personal trainer and most of the strength training they laid out are what i would do at the gym just home friendly and i got great results then. Hope this helps. Good luck.

    I use my own food and fitness plans. If I did use the Spark ones, I would probably make faster progress, but I am disabled and just do the best that I can. The Spark Teams are there for your support. You don't have to join any of them. However, if you can find ones that are good matches to your own lifestyle and interests you increase your chances of success while making some great friends along the way.

Hi all!! I am still here just out of commission for the rest of the week, I think. Having a little girl issue.. nothing big but can't move around exessively for another day or two.

So I am still here... just on the sidelines!!! But as your cheerleader... I say

Why is it that when you say, Im gonna do this today and that today and this today and that today....... then something hits and throws a monkey wrench in your plans... What is that!!!! But good thing that I didn't throw in the towel and say oh well and not be active today....

I did this exercise video.. a crunch video.. it was a dance one.. it was fun.. my little 3 year old was doing it too and then was trying to HI FIVE me in the middle saying "Your doing it, mommy... Your doing it... Go mommy go mommy!! "

So when I was ready to just say forget it... GOD sent my little cheerleader in to me to tell me to not give up!!! I love that little rascal....

Also I was wondering if anyone has ever had Polenta.. I was reading a cooking light magazine and it had this fabulous looking recipe but it had some polenta medallions with some flank steak.... how do you cook it, where is it located in the grocery store and what is it made of? Weird!

Another question- has anyone ever done a cleanse? I was thinking of doing that Mastercleanse for 10 days just to get my body clean of toxins. Some people do it for 40 days, I can't imagine why.. I think 10 days is enough to cleanse.. Any opinions or suggestions.. emoticon

Polenta is a cornmeal type food - I've not had it, but on the cooking shows they always seem to cook it in these little patty type things. Looks like it would be kind of like corn bread. Try it and let us know!

The cleanse...well, I just read something not that long ago about Salma Hayek doing this cleanse type juice stuff - it was recommended to only do it for three days, even though she does it much longer. I think three days should be good - otherwise, you take the chance of feeling deprived and then binging when you are back to food! Yikes!

    Sorry - have no ideas on Polenta - I thought it was a grain or pasta, but what do I know? I have not done a cleanse either - but hope you get some feedback from other sparkers. If not, just research it thoroughly....make sure it's right for you.
