Too many = too much!

Too many Christmas cookies left over from baking for the neighbors... = too many lunches of cookies and milk. (!!!!) (sigh) Felt yucky for a few days from too many sweets... Time to tone it down. Don't do new years resolutions... just need to remind myself of my goals. Wrote down in a new monthly calendar book, the weight I want to be at the beginning of each week. One pound less, then one pound less, then one pound less.

Sweet tooth won... now it's my turn!

    Freeze the rest and then only take one out when you want one, that way if the rest is still frozen you will not want another one after you get done with the one you took out. The key is to only take one out and enjoy it.

Break It Down

I need to break this down... I'm mean really break this down... I see a larger picture and it's too daunting.

I need to consider medical issues. (I keep bumping into them... Or they keep bumping into me!) One doc said, "Get under 200. That's good enough for now." Such a different approach! I want to lose 12 pounds in 5 months... Even that seems like a lot for me! Yikes!

Read an article re: food addiction. Sugar... Oh brother!!! If I substituted veggies for sugar, I'd be golden!

Where's my will power?? I thought I had it... now I'm not so sure...

Break it down... One meal at a time...

    Broken down even further, that's about 2.5 pounds a month. YOU CAN DO IT! If you set up your goal in Sparkpeople and follow the nutrition tracker and Fitness tracker, it'll pretty much do the work for you.

As for sugar addiction, one BITE of candy it too much for me, and a million is never enough. I GET that. I'm right now on day 29 (but who's counting) of being candy free. It's not easy, but it's getting easier as the days go by. Every day I feel a bit healthier, stronger, detoxing that sugar out of my system.

If you need to talk to someone about Sugar addiction, I'm right here for you.

    I break it down one meal, one exercise session, one article at a town. It took the whole Spark package for me to begin to make changes. Using the Spark points system really helped me work on a lot of things at once. It reminds you to enter food, water and exercise and to stay in touch with your support group. It also helps you stay motivated to read and I learned tons from the Spark articles. You can do this but it really does take one step at a time. Look for small steps that you know you can do and track your success and gradually add to them. You can do this and your health is depending on you. emoticon

    Breaking it dowm should make it simpler and more reasonable. Substituting veggies for sugar- now that sounds like an unbeatable weight loss strategy (LOL)!

I'll take it... Rheumy says to lose 10% of body weight - 21 pounds. He doesn't rant or rave (sitting on his skinny little stool in his skinny little self!). He doesn't say that I should be Twiggy thin. He doesn't say I'm squishy yucky.

He is nice and matter-of-fact. Try losing weight to see if the inflammation goes down. Lord knows not much else is helping at the moment.

OK. I'll take it... The advice, the attitude, the gentleness, the care. And I'll do what I can between now and my next check up in 6 months.

Please, God. Help me remember this!!!

    You can do this! It sounds like more than it is. Just take it a pound at a time. I highly recommend using the food entry and trying to meet all of the nutrients. it really helped me! Also, if you aren't exercising try the 10 minutes at a time...it works! Good luck! You can show the skinny little man just what the rest of us can do!

    YOU CAN DO THIS...one pound at a time. Listen to Dorothy about the processed foods and sugars. Set small goals and don't try to do it all at once. 4-5 pounds a month is plenty to try to lose.
Start by cutting out processed foods first...it's so worth it!If you can do some organic foods too that's even better. Even if you only lose 10-15 pounds in 6 months...you've still gotten a long ways to your goal! Don't give up...we're here for you!

    Have you tried removing sugars and all processed foods? That is what I did and found that my lupus does not act as bad when I stay away from them.

Had yet another wonderful day today. Physically just fine... Minimal pain... I mean minimal. Joyful heart and clear head. Lots of smiling.

Had announting with oil 3 Sundays ago after a rib dislocated while singing hymns in church. Asked for prayers for the fear and anxiety re: spontaneous-ness of such. Received hands-on healing. Powerful!!!

Long, beautiful story short... Took 3 steps before I realized no pain... NO PAIN... first time in years!! Oh wonderful me!!! Oh glorious God!!

And it's been three weeks now of a changed way of living. I am delighting in it over and over and over... Thank you Abba!
