Monday Morning

Monday, December 15, 2014

I am ecstatic this morning that my body is screaming for a glass of juice. I baked a sweet potato pie Friday with the lame excuse that sweet potatoes are full of nutrients and vitamins, which happens to be true, if I hadn't added the butter, cream and sugar. Anyway, I did enjoy it and it's all gone.

I'm ecstatic because in the past I would have used the holidays as an excuse to keep eating non-nutritious food until the New Year. I walked over 3 miles yesterday and I've walked a mile this morning and have done my strength training. My goal is to maintain a pain-free body and weight until I begin my next juice cleanse in January. If I lose weight this December that's even better. I am committing to do some kind of exercise every day until the New Year.

I am so thankful!

Making this a lifestyle

Saturday, December 13, 2014

I've eaten and drank so many green vegetables I feel like a veg. I need a change so I've been getting veg and vegan recipes to prepare for the new year. I will continue to juice and juice cleanse regularly. The benefits are too invaluable to stop.

I have not arrived at juicing perfection, but I'm thankful that I've made tremendous improvement, noticeable in reduced inflammation and joint pain and wearing clothing I haven't worn in over a year. For 2015, I plan to spend time making these changes a permanent lifestyle as I cintinue to learn and improve. I will be patient and enjoy the process as I celebrate life.

Juice cleansing specifies 100% juicing, whereas juicing may be modified several ways, possibly a total cleanse or eating alongside juicing.

What's the difference between juicing and juice cleansing because I thought it was one in the same?

Great job on your progress. emoticon emoticon

Sunday, day 7

Sunday, December 07, 2014

I only juiced one meal today. My first meal was my veg soup prior to a 3.5 mile walk. Then I drank wicked doodle coffee, which I love. Next I had my juice and my last meal was chocolate tea (0 calories!) with 1/2 cup almond milk and a wonderful salad. These are my fruit and veg ingred for the day:

Soup: green beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, cabbage, onions, celery, carrots, red & green pepper, squash

Juice: kale, cucumber, ginger, Apple, pear, spinach, celery, carrots

Salad: spring mix, red leaf, spinach, carrot, celery, part of Apple and pear from juice, walnuts, tomato, ginger dressing.

This has been a yummy, healthy day. Thanks folks for your support.

Stressed Out Momentarily

Friday, December 05, 2014

Today is day 5 of juicing and I ate some food because of stress. I will begin my juice for the next meal. It was not worth it.

I woke up to dripping water coming from my ceiling. I have paid different repairmen to fix this. First they said it was the bricks around the fireplace, next the roof, then the furnace, and then the bathroom above it. I'm tired of paying money and not getting the service.

Next, I made a green juice and added veg pepper, cayenne pepper and spirulina to it and wanted to upchuck. I couldn't do anything but throw it away.

Then my husband goes to get a tune up and oil change and comes home saying it cost $588. The car had additional problems. Don't they always?

So, what do I do? Go and eat an italian sausage my husband had cooked and a dry piece of cake from Thanksgiving. I threw the cake away after a few bites. It really wasn't worth it.

So I am now better. I walked on the tmill and I blogged. Now it's time to return to my juice.

You could have done a lot more damage. So glad you didn't. Wishing you a better day tomorrow. I didn't make it through my fast day either. I ate at lunch. But.... the rest of the day I have done better. I hope to continue tomorrow. Best wishes for a good day.

You felt stressed, you saw it, you ate it, you realized it wasn't worth it, you're returning to your juice, and now you are better. THAT shows that you are on the right path. If you are like me, there were days in the past where I felt stressed, I saw it, I ate it, and I just kept on eating it. When I finally come to accept that 'it really wasn't worth it,' I knew I was on the right path. THAT is an accomplishment! Congratulations!
