Thankfully, I have been able to get my exercise back on once I completed this last semester at University of Memphis. For me it was difficult putting everything in order of priorities and school got second choice after spending time with my heavenly Father, and exercise and eating healthy got the crumbs, which led to me gaining all of the weight back that I had lost over the last two years.

But again, thankfully, I am getting back on track and have already begun to lose it. I hate this yo-yoing, but I'm not giving in to an unhealthy lifestyle either. It leaves me miserable and depressed. I love eating clean and I love working out so it's not difficult for me to get back on track. Consistency is my issue.

I am now a happy camper again.

What will I Make the Time to Do?

Friday, March 08, 2013

I have been getting back into a consistent routine and as always it feels good. For the life of me I can't understand why we stop or make excuses for something that is so good for us. It's easy to come up with excuses, but I do understand that we usually make the time to do what we really want to do.

I pray that working out will again be habit forming for me.

Checking In

Monday, October 25, 2010

In Sept., I stated that I would lose 2 sizes by the end of the year. One size is down and I'm working on the next size.

I am still working on the weight I gained since I left the gym and stopped taking classes towards my degree (that I've been working on since 1972), last Dec. I had lost 47 lbs and gained all of it back. I still had a lot more weight to lose, even with the 47 gone.

When I had lost the weight, I gave ALL of my heavier clothes to Dress for Success and a family member, and bought new clothes. When I gained again, I was left with NO clothes in a larger size, so of course I had to purchase more big clothes so that I wouldn't have to walk around in squeezed in clothing. You know how awful that looks. Plus, I stayed in the house during those days.

I started Weight Watchers in August, for accountability and I make sure that I track points and calories daily. So far I have lost 15 lbs. emoticon

Posting on SP and reading various articles and books on health and fitness have helped me tremendously on this journey. But most of all, my faith has picked me up and held me when I have slipped, tripped and even fallen.

How Much Do I Love Me, Let Me Count The Minutes!

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

Do we really love ourselvesf? First we must pass a test to answer this. God said that if we love Him that we would obey Him. There is a condition to proving our love. So our is how much time do we spend on us: mentally, spiritually, physically and emotionally.

Well, there happens to be 1440 minutes in a day. How about we love ourselves enough to commit to a minimum of 60 of them, just 60 of them on ourselves.

What's so neat about it is that we don't have to spend a dime to prove our love to ourselves, only time.

You know we all are allowed the same amount of time each day- its what & how we live it that adds up. Often we're too busy watching whats in front of us to notice what we were headed for at the end of it. emoticon

Roasted Veggies

Monday, October 18, 2010

After first hearing about it I never thought that roasted vegetables were good. Now I state they are delicious! I can eat loads of them.

I just roasted some snap beans for the first time and I love them. This summer I have roasted zuchinni, broccoli, kale, jalapeno peppers, okra, tomatoes, asparagus and brussel sprouts.
It's amazing how flavorful they are and so healthy.

What am I going to do this fall?
