Back again...

Well, the good news is I've lost some pounds, bad news is my body fat % is up. Darn it.

Yesterday, I drug 5 yo on a easy hike. I figure if I keep him going on hiking, he'll like it eventually, plus he will build up his stamina as well. He whined about the idea but when we got there was all gungho. No complaining! Yay! We are going to start geocaching too so that should get him even more excited about it. DH is away on alot of fishing tournaments so trying to find alternate ways of finding exercise but not killing my 5 yo in the process. :)

This weekend we are doing a work/play weekend at our church camp. It is in the mountains and there are cabins there. We will be working to help get the camp ready for summer activities (cleaning cabins, fixing up boats, clearing walkways) and the play is hiking, rock climbing, etc. Can't wait. Hubby will be fishing again so we'll be doing our own adventure rather than sitting at home.

Need to work on eating. I'm bored with my recipes/recipe books so have been falling back on eating out alot. Need to knock that off. Not healthy physically or budgetwise. Need to work out more too. Have been skipping it and working straight through. Has affected me mentally alot so I've been more grouchy. Need a change of scenery during the day. Got to get back to my Just Do It mentality.

    Good for you on figuring out ways to engage your little one in exercise! I know they whine and complain (at least, MINE did!) but usually after they're out having an adventure they have a great time!

    You are going to LOVE geocaching!!! And so will your 5 year old! It's a great way to get him excited about hiking. My hubby and I have been caching for probably 4 years. It has gotten us to a lot of places we never knew existed. The caches are everywhere. We live in the mountains and don't do a lot of city caches, but my sister in law does. Plus it's a great way to break up road trips too - because they are everywhere!!
We have been taking my great nieces for a few years and they are always excited about it. I can't wait till my granddaughters are old enough (they are only 2 and 8 months right now). A lot of the little trinkets in the caches are kid oriented.

Crazy Week

Haven't been tracking much or exercising much for that matter. Work just got very busy and everyone wants something yesterday. Love those days. Son is acting up at home so that hasn't helped either. But baby steps. I could have gone and bought a chocolate bar but I opted for the 1/2 cup trail mix instead. So far so good.

Need to work on son and his pokiness in the morning. Keeps making me late for work. This morning was the worst. I finally had to yell at him to get him out of the car. Grrrr. Pretty much everything went down hill after that. *sigh*

  


Broke Even!

With the Super Bowl party and all I still broke even this weekend. No gain. Yippee!

Today I switched up my workout routine and went ice skating. What fun! I need to learn to ice skate well so I can practice with my son who is doing Learn to Skate hockey at DU. Of course, he is fearless and way faster than I am, but I figure if I go to the public skate sessions during lunch, I'll get better. His dad won't go near the ice.

Blew my diet out of the water yesterday by going to Qdoba and getting the BBQ burrito-chicken. So good though. But...

Next time, when I know I'm going to Qdoba, I'll calculate everything before I go using this:

I figured out what I needed to do to make my favorite burrito more diet friendly. I printed it and will keep it in my purse for that just in case moment. haha

Super cold week. Hubby and son were out of school for the past 2 days due to the weather. I only got 1 snow day. Grumble. haha Oh well. Got my work out on at least.

Made it to the body blitz class yesterday. OMG. I was sucking wind big time. My glutes are a little sore today. And my upper back from all the weight lifting and pushups. The hopping mountain climbers kill me. She added hops to the sides too. Ouch. After awhile I couldn't due the rolling situps to a step up exercise anymore so I just laid on the ground and did an ab work instead. BRUTAL. But I did it! Yeah!

Stayed within my calories but my carbs have gotten a bit out of control lately. Fiber is finally where it should be. Added an Active bar to my meal plan. One a day helps me meet my fiber minimum. I'm having problems getting enough protein though. And now my iron levels are too high. Can't win. If I don't take the One a Day, then my iron is too low but if I do then it is too high. DOH. Gotta find the balance I guess.

Got my organic veggie delivery at work yesterday. Mixed Greens, apples, oranges, baby potatoes, rainbow carrots (yes they are red, orange, yellow, purple colored), and kale.

I looked at the kale and thought what the heck do I make with this? I looked it up online and low and behold...Kale Chips! haha I should make them and bring them to the Superbowl party at my sister's house. LOL
