Challenge for the Month

My challenge for this month for myself is to exercise at least 5 days a week and record my minutes on the Spark America page for my city. I set my home page to the Spark America page so I won't forget.

Last night I got 8 hours sleep. I still feel tired but considering the last 5 days I've stayed up til midnight or beyond, I have some catching up to do.

Didn't make it to the grocery store but I did make a list and am sending dh to the store today since he is not working.

"I gotta feelin'. Today's going to be a good, good dayyyyyy!"

Tough Day #2

Well, last week I did awesome with food and working out. Then came the weekend downward spiral. DOH. Weekends are my worst. I also got into a really good book this weekend so I stayed up way too late every night reading the darn thing. It caught up with me today at my workout class. I usually have a banana about an hour before I go but I need to go grocery shopping so I had a plum instead. It didn't fill me up. So I was dragging bad through the class. Of course eating out last night and having 2 desserts (yes I was bad) didn't help. I haven't been to Country Buffet in a long time. Now I know why. :0

Goals for today:
Workout-check

eat healthy-Since we are out of groceries, I ate out at Garbanzos but I got the kids meal (1/2 pita no rice) with apples instead of chips. For dinner will be a Cooking Light recipe chicken salad sandwich with lettuce and avocado. Perhaps a side of beets I cooked up over the weekend.

Goals for the week:
Eat Healthy.
Get on target with my weekend eating!
Get to bed on time!

    Sounds like you got right back to it! I try to avoid buffet's for the same reason! Too many temptations....

  Don't be too hard on yourself. Life is about living and you SHOULD eat healthy but you should also enjoy a treat once in a while. As long as it doesn't become a habit, enjoy your treats.

Dancing your A** Off

I was flipping through the channels tonight and saw the show Dancing your A** Off was on. From what I could figure out, it is a show where people who have weight to lose compete in various dance styles with a fit dance partner/choreographer. They work out and practice up until the event and then 3 judges watch their performance and rate them on technicality and entertainment of the dance. While I was sitting there watching it, I thought to myself, I shouldn't be sitting here watching people try to lose weight on tv, but rather out hitting the pavement myself. So, I called the dog, put on her leash and we went for a long walk in the cool evening air. Felt great!

I also tried Wahoo's Fish Tacos for the first time tonight. Interesting flavor and a nice change from the usual places we eat out.

    Moments like that are priceless - if we could all keep that "I should go do something active" in our minds more often, being healthy wouldn't be such a struggle. Good for you!

Tough Day

I didn't get a very good night's sleep last night due to Jake's night terrors. I get to meet with the auditors this morning at work. But after the auditors will be my fav yoga class so that is what is spurring me on. I'm a bit flaky at the moment so hopefully I can pull it together to make it through the rest of the day.

Thinking about the big weekend. Jake and I decided to take dad fishing on sunday. We'll probably go to green mtn reservoir his fav spot to fish. But first, hopefully, on Saturday I can get in a nice hike with Molly. I also need to hang posters for an upcoming concert. Practice ice skating with Jake. Busy, busy.

Couch to 5k

Well, haven't been tracking my food lately, but have been exercising. Due to being sick for awhile, I fell off the C25k track. Did other exercises instead until I felt better. Now I've been repeating W5D1 to get back on track again. Today I did W5D2. Probably will repeat this one a couple more times before I try the infamous W5D3 (20 min solid running). But, I have noticed my body fat percentage going down and my weight slowly inching lower. I just need to stay away from the chips! LOL

At work, they offer something called Farm Fresh 2 Go. For companies who offer Kaiser health coverage, people can sign up for the Farm Fresh group to deliver fresh produce to you weekly at your workplace. I signed up for it thinking I'd get out of my produce rut. So far so good. I've now tried Fava beans. haha I'm sure there will be others. It forces me to get creative each week using what was delivered that week.
