I have to be proud of myself!!!

I was holding out on taking a new photo until I reached 80lbs lost, but since I had been at a plateau for a few months, I decided to take a new photo anyway! I'm down 77lbs as of now and I'm feeling great! I just broke through my 5 month plateau, which I'm not really sure I can call it a plateau - I wasn't losing any weight, but I was dropping inches...see I started lifting heavier weights and started working on toning...so, though there was no weight lost, I still got smaller.... The difference from when I started to where I am now is amazing! I never thought I could do it, but I did! I stuck with it and I'm very proud of myself. Sure I cheated some days, but that's okay, I still worked out and pushed myself! If I can do you then you can do it! So jump on the train and get moving!!!

    Wow....you look terrific! Your hard work has really paid off. My daughter is also down about 77 pounds now and we looked at her before and current pics the other day and it is amazing. She has worked really hard for the loss but it is SO worth it.

Courtney Lehn Eakright! I have a bone to pick with you and you had better not interrupt me!

You better get your butt in gear! You have lost 75lbs and I am very proud of you for that - you have definitely proven that you are capable - but you're starting to get lazy with your eating. I'm afraid you might be out of control! Ah, be quiet, I'm not finished yet!

You reached the 75lb goal over 2 months ago...why haven't you lost another pound since then? It's surely not your workouts because you are still kicking butt in those and being consistent, I wouldn't be surprised if your workouts are what's keeping you from gaining weight!

It has to be your eating! Have you noticed that you've been eating way too much? Well, of course you have, as you track your food intake everyday.

You've got to get your eating back under control. You need to start drinking more water, too! You've been too lenient with the cheat foods. It's perfectly all right to eat something that is 'restricted' once in awhile, but you can't do it all the time! If eating those foods all the time is the direct result of being lenient one time, then I'm afraid you're not going to be able to cheat at all :( However, not giving in once in awhile often leads to binge eating and I don't want to see you do that either, so how about we compromise and if you want to have a 'restricted food' go ahead, but only buy enough for that one time. DO NOT BUY AN ENTIRE BOX....EVEN IF IT'S LOW CARB - You don't need the temptations! Maybe you should reserve those 'restricted foods' allowances for when you're dining out, since you don't do that often?

So, what do you have to say for yourself? What are you going to do? What's your plan of action?

Well, everything I can come up with is just an excuse, so I will spare you...But I'm going to fix this starting today!

Today I will begin restricting my carb intake once more, to no more than 30 carbs for 2 weeks to get rid of the cravings. I will stick to my cardio/strength plan, as always, but I will push myself a little harder, by possibly adding heavier weights and/or 5-10 minutes more to my workout!

After the 2 weeks I promise you that I will continue to count every carb I put in my mouth. I will make sure I track all my food (even on the weekends). I will not keep foods in the house that will tempt me to cheat! I will try to stay at or under my carb threshold of about 55 carbs per day. I will also ask my husband to look over my food list each night and question my choice of food if it deviates from what I should be eating without giving him grief!

I promise to drink more water and absolutely no soda! Not even diet soda. I gave soda up over 2 years ago for almost a year and a half and just recently let myself start having one here and there and that has turned into one a day. Well, no more!

I will make sure that the carbs I am eating are healthier. More fruits and veggies, less processed lunch meat! I need to cut my sodium down, as well, so I promise to work on that, too.

Oh, and I'll get back to weighing myself 2 times a week. I think that had a big part to play, also. I stopped weighing in consistently and would let a week or two go before I did it....so I didn't know if I was on track or not...which is not good!

OKay, so I think that will do it! I know this will get the scale moving down again! I can do it! I know I can. I am strong and can do anything I put my mind to. I can't wait to lose the next 25lbs!

    Wow, that was a really good letter to yourself! You've done a fantastic job and look wonderful.. I don't get the amount of carbs SP put me on, but I don't think I could ever do less then 50, I'm usually around 150ish. You can have my sodium and sugar ;).

Fighting with 4lbs!

I'm fighting with 4lbs right now! I think I lose them, then all of a sudden they creep back on me!

I know it's not my workout routine b/c I switch it up all the time - and I've stepped it up a little bit.

I'm wondering if I'm possibly gaining some muscle - I'm seeing myself toning up and losing inches, but the weight isn't going down much. I've really kicked up my strength training over the last 3 weeks - I used to only combine weights with my cardio two times a week, now I'm combining them 4 times a week and only doing straight cardio once a week...so it's definitely a possibility. I've been working out 5 days a week consistently since Sept of 2010, so this is definitely not that old excuse of "I'm building muscle, but really I just haven't exercised much and I'm not sticking to my healthy eating habits, but I don't want to admit that to myself or to you..." LOL

But, I've also been a little lenient on my carb intake :/ So I think I better start journaling my food & snacks again! I've found that I'm just one of those body types that can't handle carbs very well, so to lose weight I have to keep my carbs under 50 a day. I switched up some foods that I've been eating 2 weeks ago when I was grocery shopping and I think I'll be going back to the 'old' foods! I've also allowed myself to eat a little more cereal (Honeynut Cheerios or Cinnamon Life) than I should be eating, too, and I'm sure that's a factor in this battle! So I need to cut that out again, but I love cereal so much - you can have my bread and my pasta, but please don't take my milk or cereal! I'm still eating healthy, I think I've just let myself eat too many carbs. (Note - I do take a multi-vitamin to supplement the vitamin intake a low(er) carb lifestyle tends to lessen...do not eat low carb without taking a low iron containing multi-vitamin!)

Anyway, I know what I need to do, but just thought I'd hash my thoughts out on my blog...I'm going grocery shopping Saturday morning, so I can start fresh that day! I think I'm going to cut my carbs down to 20/day for two weeks and start over to find my carb thresh-hold. After the two weeks I'll raise my carb intake by 5 carbs/day - That should definitely help me win this battle with these 4lbs!!! Sometimes you just have to start from scratch!!

    Yes, I agree with you! Thanks for your comment! I know I will eventually get past it...I just want so badly to get into the 220s and I'm fighting with 230-234! I shouldn't complain, though, b/c last June I was at 298 and my highest weight last year was 304! So it's not like I haven't made progress...I just want more! LOL! I'm going to weigh myself on Saturday morning and then NOT weigh in again for two more weeks...that will probably help me from getting discouraged!

I'm gonna lose 38lbs by June 1, 2011! That will be my 1 year anniversary of my new healthy lifestyle and will see me down 98lbs! I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen!! I'm already down 8lbs so far this year, which puts me at 68lbs exactly, so I only have 30lbs more to go!! And I'm gonna PAR-TAY if I happen to take off an extra 2lbs with that - 100lbs down in one yearwould be fabulous!!!

So I just wanted to comment on what a big difference a support team makes! I started my weight loss journey / new eating lifestyle 5 weeks ago by myself. I didn't start out by exercising - just watching my carbs (I had been eating between 300-400 carbs a day without even knowing it....I started by eating only 20 a day for 2 weeks - I'm up to about 30-35 now and I'm loving the new eating habits). At the same time I began my journey there were some women in my church starting to exercise every night at the church to The Biggest Loser Dvds (I didn't know about this yet) and my pastor's wife privately began inviting women who had 50 or more pounds to lose to her house for water aerobics on Thursday evenings (they were blessed with a free in-ground pool! They had to pay for the cement and digging, but the pool and installation was free!) I was doing great with my eating my own, but I didn't want to work out. Who wants to work out by themselves anyway? Well I decided to go to workout with the girls at the church one night and it was pretty fun. Then I decided to take my pastor's wife up on her offer and that was really fun (oh and we named our group "The Fluffy Girl Club"). I started going as often as I could and found a great support/accountability team. My sister-in-law also goes and when we can't make it to the church (b/c they change the hours throughout the week) we workout together on the wii playing Just Dance at her house (just around the corner and down the street from me). I have to say that having a support team is so awesome! Knowing that somebody is expecting me to come over and work out has really helped me stick to it. My sister-in-law feels the same way...she didn't really want to work out yesterday, but since we had already made plans to do so, she knew she had to...It's so great having people in your life that are willing to take the journey with you, instead of just stand on the side-lines and watch :) And 5 weeks in and I'm down 16.5 lbs (I'm down 20 lbs from my heaviest weight, though). I'm so blessed to have these people in my life.
