I got on the scale this morning to find that I lost 3.8 lbs "this week ." I put quotes around "this week" because I don't believe I actually lost the weight this week. I believe it was a mix of the passed two weeks. If you remember, I had a slight weight loss last week even though I did very well lat week with the exception of the weekend. So I believe this total was for both weeks.
I am glad to see the number go down. My goal is to be at 246 lbs by March 4th, just before I go to Vegas for my birthday. Originally I wanted to be at 242, but looking at the numbers, I don't believe that is attainable. That would mean I have to lose more then 10 lbs in 3 weeks. Not going to happen. By 7 lbs in 3 weeks I possible so I going to do it!
Because of being in training at work all week, I skipped the gym. However, I did manage to walk a mile two nights this week and also did strength training on my own at home 1 of those nights as well. I am going to the gym tonight because it's time to get back on track. The last few weeks have been all messed up. But no more. It's time to get back on track of going to the gym 4 days a week: Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
My eating has been really good even though my gym time hasn't. I've only gone above 2000 calories in a day once or twice a week and even when I do, it's not by much. In my opinion, that is still success. But this week, I am going to try to push myself to stay below 2000 all week long. Of course my ultimate goal is to remain under 1800 each day, but I'll take 1999 once or twice a week with the rest of the days being below 1800.
Also on a good note, I tried on a pair of pants that I have had since I was a senior in high school. They are a size 22 jeans from Lane Bryant, from back before the clothing stores changed the sizes. Even when I got them back then, I could not fit in them. I have kept them for the past 8 years hoping one day I would fit in them again. I tried them on in November and couldn't even zip them up. Literally, the zippers couldn't even touch...they were a good 2-3 inches apart. I could barely get them up over my hips and butt. Then I tried them again at the end of December or beginning of January and I could actually zip them up. They were still too tight, but I could zip them up. I tried them on a couple mornings ago and I could actually wear them if I wanted to. They are tight to begin with, but as jeans do, I know they would loosen up throughout the day and be even more comfortable. I am not going to wear them. I hung them up on my wall and my plan is to wear them in Vegas in three weeks. Hopefully I will lose another inch or so to make them more comfortable before Vegas but either way, I am wearing them on my birthday! Why? Because I can!

So I got on the scale this morning to find that I lost 0.4 lbs. I really don't know why other then I binged yesterday and it's still in my body. But the rest of the week I did really well, especially in eating. So hopefully I will show a 3 lbs loss next week to make up for this. If not, oh well. I will still continue on.
I am not going to make it to the gym much this week because I am in training all week at work and I hate to go to the gym before 10pm. It's so freaking busy and my blood pressure rises when I do. I don't like to be around a lot of people like that. But I am thinking about cancelling my training sessions with my trainer so I can just skip all together. I am really not in the mood to put any added pressure on me. So I am going to the gym tonight and will likely not make it back until next Friday. But I will walk around my apartments and do exercises here at home that are exactly the same ones I do with my trainer. So I won't be taking any kind of break or anything like that. I will just not be doing them in the gym.

Just as I love Sundays because it's a new week to start over, I love the 1st of each month because I get to set new goals for myself. Or at least slightly change goals I wanted to change mid-month to better suit me. So that is what I did.
First let me tell you how I did with my goals for January. My first goal was to walk 10,000 steps every day. I unfortunately did not do that. Some days I missed the steps by only about 500 steps because I didn't wear my pedometer and didn't upload my bodybugg to see how many steps it said I took. I learned the hard way. I upload before the night is over to help make my numbers. Anyway, I met this goal about 58% of the time time. That is actually down from December. Not good. I am suppose to be making progress.
My second goal was to burn more then 3000 calories per my body bugg. I met this goal 67% of the time. I can do much better then that. I just need to get up and move more. Unfortunately I will likely not be meeting this goal today see as how I slept a lot. Oh well. Tomorrow is a new day.
My third goal was to eat less then 1800 calories a day. I met this 65% of the time. That is up from 42% of the time in December so that is definitely progress.
And finally my fourth goal was to be in bed in time to get 6.75 hours of sleep. I did really well with this, though I feel like I am cheating the numbers due to the weekend because I get to sleep in, but I met this goal 96% of the time. So on the nights I had to work the next day, I had to be in bed by 12:45am. I am a night owl, so that is difficult for me, but I did it.
Overall, I met my goals 72% of the time. I think that is fantastic. Remember, I am not looking for perfection, just progress. To give you an idea, 72% is up from 63% in December and 55% in November. Those months I started losing my way slightly and while not quite giving up, I also wasn't giving it my all. So I was 72% this month. My goal for February is to be at 75% or higher.
Now on to my February goals. I tweaked them a little bit. My first goal is still to walk 10,000 steps. Since I really haven't been doing well on reaching that goal daily, I am not ready to up the number. So 10,000 it is. I also quit wearing my pedometer and will only rely on my bodybugg to count my steps. This is different and not really a welcomed change, but there is no reason to wear both when they both do the same thing. Plus my bodybugg appears to be more accurate strangely enough.
My second goal for February is the same as January, to burn 3000+ calories a day per my bodybugg. I think that is a good number so I am going to stick with it.
My third goal is instead of eating below XXXX amount of calories a day, instead I want to make sure I have at least a 1200 calorie deficit. So if according to my bodybugg I burned 3000 calories, that means I gotta each under 1800 calories that day. If my bodybugg says I burned 3200 calories, that means I gotta eat below 2000 calories. This is not to give myself leeway in eating more on the days I am more active, but instead if I burn 3600 calories but eat 1900, I think that is still pretty damn good. I am still going to try to remain under 1800 calories because that is my personal goal forever. That will keep my in check, but I know I am not perfect and will occasionally have higher calorie days. I shouldn't "punish" myself for it.
And at last, I bumped up my sleeping goal to 7 hours. So now on the nights before I work, I have to be in bed by 12:30am. Just to give you some ideas on how this is definitely progress for me. When I first started tracking my sleep back in August, I started out at 7 hours of sleep. I only met that goal 29% of the month. I could not do it. Now here in January, I met my goal of 6.75 hours 96% of the time which means I only missed one night. I expect to do well this month on sleeping. It's all about progress.
Here is to a new month and reaching short term goals. We need to practice reaching short term goals so that we are better prepared to work towards and reach our long term goals!

I lost so much last week from having the stomach flu that I expected this week to either maintain or gain weight. I am happy to report that I maintained. I weighed in at the exact same weight as I did last week, down to the ounce.
Other then that, I don't have much to report. Except maybe that I am officially a size 20. I had to buy some workout pants and went with the 22/24. I also bought some pajama pants and did the same thing. When I tried them on, they were too big. So I went down to a size 18/20 and they fit perfectly! Woo hoo! One step closer to single digits.
