More miles...

Wednesday, June 26, 2013

06/25 - 4:50 pm
Overcast and muggy
3.1 mi in 44
Down Sacramento to Sandy and back
That includes several hills - much more fun going down them on the way out than up them on the way back LOL but oh-so-good for my endurance.
No extra walk breaks.

Excellent!

    Yay you!

(whispers) - how did you convince your body to start releasing weight again? Mine isn't getting with the program!

Great job. I like the way you think positively. I also relish difficult runs because I know I'm building endurance then.

For the Ahh Bra and I can't give them up!
emoticon emoticon

Seriously, have you tried the Ahh bra? No, Bruce, I don't mean you (if you're reading this, I apologize for the lady-centric post!)
www.ahhbra.com

It's comfortable. It's non-binding. It's like wearing a sports bra only better. It has removable pads tha don't so much pad or boost you as they provide a bit of.. cover? Blockage? LOL

They're just.. fabulous! No underwires. No strap marks. No back-boobs or bulges. And no searching through racks and racks of overpriced bras in the stores, finding only ONE bra in your size.

If you haven't tried an Ahh bra, I'd suggest it.
~*~*~

On an unrelated note.. it's only taken me 25 weeks to lose 10 lbs.
emoticon
I shouldn't complain. I'm releasing again .. ... sssshhhhhh! Don't let my body hear me say that too loudly or it will rebel and stop again.

I'm still getting my mileage in each day for the summer challenge. I'm running this evening after work. I'm actually looking forward to it. That's a nice change!

I like the claim: 'Fits perfectly even if you gain or lose weight'

OK, you sold me - I saw some on the sale rack at Michaels (local arts/crafts store); that's a good excuse to swing back by!

Is this the one that Walmart is now selling??? I read about it but was skeptical! Thanks for sharing, I will definitely be getting one for horseback riding and the gym! I have such a hard time finding good bras I've been doubling up!

......and WTG on the weight loss! Slow loss is sometimes more permanent?!?!?! (or at least that's how I overcome the slow moving scale blues) lol

Summer Mileage Challenge..

Friday, June 21, 2013

Welcome to the first official day of Summer!
emoticon

I've started a Summer Mileage Challenge on the Spark Portland team, and I figured why not spread the joy to all y'all! Let's log our miles for the whole summer - from June 21 through September 22 - to see how many miles we can accomplish over the coming months. Feel free to share this with your teams and friends and get as many people involved as you can.
emoticon

The miles can be foot powered or wheel powered.
emoticon
What??
Walking, jogging, wogging, slogging, running - all foot powered miles.
emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Biking, skate-boarding, and roller-blading/-skating - all wheel powered miles.
emoticon emoticon

I admit, this is TOTALLY selfish on my part because I need a push to get back into the good habit of running three times a week. I don't even walk enough during the week, so I'm hoping for help and accountability, and some FUN with my friends here to do this.

**NOTE**
I have a Fitbit and it counts my steps all day long, and logs how many miles I walk. This is not walking with a purpose, much, it's just steps during the day. For ~ME~ I'm only going to count mileage that I walk/run on purpose. It's up to you to decide if you're going to count every single step you take every day, or just the ones that you do intentionally as fitness.

Hey, Every Single Step helps, so there's no problem counting them! I'm just letting you know how I'm going to do my logging.
**

Take this template and turn it into a blog if you want, or post it on your main Spark Page and log your miles that way. Whatever works best for you.

What do you win/gain by doing this? The satisfaction of a job well done!
I admit, I'm bribing the Spark Portland team with Spark Goodies going to the top mileage earner each month, but it's harder to do that with all y'all.

Ready? Set? Go!
