Spending too much time on SP?Friday, January 28, 2011
I joined SP to learn how best to reach my goal to a healthier me. I've spent a lot of time here joining teams, reading blogs, making friends, laughing out loud. and finally today making a commitment to exercise . I did 10 minutes earlier today and was tempted to do another 10 minutes tonight. But I stopped myself knowing that I would pay for it with pain. ![]()

I think at times we all find we are spending a lot of time on Spark. To me it was good to involve myself completely in the process. I have had to scale back some, for I still work, and I workout about 3 to 4 hours a day. I figured the time was better spent exercising than sitting at the computer. Sometimes at first I felt guilty, letting my Spark friends wait while I attended to other things. But since this is my journey I have to travel the best way I know how. And right now it's look after myself.I am number "1". Top priority, So sometimes I find myself late at night, (late for me) getting on line to Spark some more. My first husband sounds like yours. We did not last long. I hope you continue to enjoy Spark and it continues to motivate you in good ways. Try to increase those 10 minutes. I know you can. Be positive, stay strong and Spark on. Sometimes I actually feel I am also spending too much time on Spark but I learn so much and it motivates me to read the blogs, etc. It is me time!! SP does work--and I actually feel happier since I discovered SP. I have a lot of weight to lose and this site is really motivating and helping me--also love the friends I've made here. Thanks for your blog. I've always felt guilty about the time I spend on Spark, but you have a good point. This is for us! It's a way to be affirmed, valued, and sometimes a way to vent. If we don't take care of ourselves, who will. Way to go, Sista!

I hear you! One thing I learned here is that "keeping busy" can help keep me from constant munching -- but not if I get bored with what I'm doing. Coming here is a way to keep busy and have fun. If I need to stop, I can simply stop. It's not like it's something that I am required to do. But that's like a lot of other things. If you "have to" do something, it's not as fun as if you choose to do it on your own. (Required reading vs. reading for fun) Good luck on reaching your goals -- and without all the stress of needing to "keep busy" on everything! Report Inappropriate Comment |
