November Sunday Lunch

Sunday, November 21, 2010

It was Nuneaton on a cold Sunday lunchtime, the venue was set and the dozen were intent on doing what they do best...................
no!, socializing with others of a like mind (and fitting in lunch too!)

First there were only 3 (I am behind the camera!)

But then slowly,

a few at a time,

they came

We talked and we laughed (Oh how we laughed) we even ate quite healthily, except for someone who had the Biggest Burger in the world..............

But then the 'puddings' list came around and we all broke down one after another and gave ourselves up to the relentless draw of the sugary sweets

Even Mandy 'Goody Two Shoes' SlimJim joined in

And don't think for a minute that Mr ShrekWard abstained from eating the sweet stuff, just because I couldn't get a photo of him doesn't mean that he didn't eat it..............

All in all a great way to pass an afternoon with friends. So here is looking forward to the next lunch. It was great to see everyone, thanks you guys for making it a fun get together.

A mere morsel for a pudding had to be done!
I was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food bearing in mind how cheap it was.
The surroundings were also nice as was the fact that we weren't hurried to leave, which mad it even better!
The company was exceptional and the two young adults (Daniel and Paige) where an absolute pleasure to have with us.

I propose a UK Midlands team award for "Who can eat the Burger?"
with a trophy to those who can do it!
Current record holder......................DANIEL!

Thanks to all who went along and made it so pleasurable!

I really enjoyed it Pete, and laugh, I think we all burned a fair few calories doing just that!

The photos are great, and I can vouch for Chris having a pretty decent pudding.

The afternoonwent far tooquickly though, looking forward to the next one.

Spark meet 2010

Sunday, July 25, 2010

Meanwhile back in Coomb Abbey park Sparkpeople appeared from all over the country, there may have been just 14 of us (+3 dogs so thats 17) but we had a great day out.

We put faces to names and chatted, we laughed and jocked, pulled each others legs a little and put the world to rights.

Everyone seemed to enjoy their own picnic lunches, all very healthy food of course (except for the mini Pork Pies, and they all thought team leaders were supposed to set an example!) Some of us got to take a walk around the park and work off some of the calories from lunch. I was amazed just how much there is to wander around and to see.

The weather was really kind, a little chilly when the sun went behind the clouds but no rain until the last few of us were just packing up to leave, both Jude and myself have got quite a good suntan now.

I for one had a great time and am looking forward to the next one.

Who's for the same time next year?
