An uneventful weekend. TYG!

Sunday, March 11, 2012

Thanks be to God! This was a nice weekend.
My BFF brought me a treadmill, and I have enjoyed using it! I used my Wii each day. My weight is a solid 196.0. I have eaten well, even with eating out at Fatz Cafe! Portions and drinking water make a huge difference.
Changing the clocks yesterday afternoon made a difference, too. I was up to go to 8 am Mass without feeling tired, or missing the hour we lost.
I spent today chilling... read some, ate when I was hungry, and exercised. I did not need a nap.
My body hurts from the fibro, and the weather change has my joints "out of sorts". Circumstances that can be dealt with. Overall, good.
I had my solitary trip to Wally World after Mass. Very nice. Relaxing. Definitely adding this to my list of things to continue after Lent.
The week ahead looks to be busy, but well planned at this point.
I am ready to face whatever comes, and be thankful. The is no situation that I cannot handle if I will turn to God first.
This IS going to be a SPARKling week!

Decided to be on track today.

Wednesday, March 07, 2012

I woke up hurting. Mentally and physically. I had not eaten as well as I could the past two days, I did not drink as much water as I usually do(at least 9 glasses a day), and I was too tired. Did not exercise as usual. Didn't sleep well.
I felt ugly and had a disposition to match.
I knew today was going to be a long, tiring day. It was.
But I knew I could not keep sportin' the 'tude I had.
I chose to look beyond my "feelings" to what the truth actually was. I was tired. I was concerned for Aunt Margaret. I ate some foods that are not good for my inflammation. I could not change what was yesterday, but I could start anew this morning. I ate well. I drank my water. I smiled no matter what. I expected the best of myself in my work, and did my best work.
So, here I am at 9:15pm. I am tired. But I WON the race today! I finished proud of ME!
I overcame my bad mood, and I learned(again!) that I always have a choice as to how I react to the start of the day.
I partly owe my new wisdom to SP. God has used it to alter my attitude towards life when it sucks.
I am very grateful!

Tough Tuesday

Tuesday, March 06, 2012

Spent most of today at the hospital... My BFF(since we were in kindergarten) is an only child, as am I. Her Mother and Aunt are the only family she has left, and they are like my family. Aunt Margaret fell yesterday afternoon, and lay on her floor for 5 hours, until Pat found her. EMT's came and got her to ER around 6:30pm. They finally got her in a room at 2am this morning. After all the tests, it is determined she has a displaced communitated fracture of her hip... requiring surgery tomorrow. She is 86, and in pretty good health. This will keep her out of commission for about 6 weeks. Pat's Mom is going to be 93 this year. She, too, lives on her own. Her condo is across the hall from Aunt Margaret's. She can be a "pain", so we are jockey-ing things around to keep her entertained so we can get Auntie M settled. My job will be "Mother" sitting tomorrow. LOL!
I have eaten pretty much as planned. Luckily the hospital has good choices in the cafeteria!
I am truly too tired to exercise this evening. I am going to go with the flow for the next few days and make as wise a choice as I can, as they are presented to me. It is all going to be OK.
All things work to the good of those who love the Lord...

In addition to setting up a lifeline communication for each of them, this is a perfect time, and reason, to initiate a home care aide or volunteer for one if not both of them. The individuals and services vary, and while volunteers are sometimes through churches or veterans organizations, the ones that cost are also well worth the peace of mind for everyone involved. I highly suggest that y'all look into this, after a good night's rest of course! This is a wake up call for both of them. Seize the opportunity!

My prayers are added to everyone else's on the speedy recovery and future safety of our senior ladies here.

Those falls can be so damaging -wishing your Aunt Margaret a swift recovery. That is great you can help out.
Hope you could get a good sleep..
Take care of yourself too.

Looks like your life is full.. Take a little time for 10 minute walks from time to time.
Taking that time for yourself and to pray for the strength to be Gods helping hands.
You are a wonderful person....

Mundane Monday...

Monday, March 05, 2012

Not much going on today... I sort of went with the flow all day. It was nice, although I ate more calories than I normally would. I exercised less. Yet, it was a stress free day, so that counted for something. I am relaxed as I get ready for bed. I had a good day overall.
I can sleep in peace!
Sometimes it IS good to just take a day off and just BE. emoticon

So glad that you had a stress-less, relaxing day. At times we crave such a day and we don't get it and then one comes and oh, it feels so good! Just like relaxing in a warm bubble bath on a cold wintry night! We all have days when we go over a tad or a lot and then we just pick up the pieces and try better tomorrow! Have a good night, Dearie! emoticon emoticon tomorrow, the next day and the next! emoticon
