So my scale dropped a full pound this morning, and its not dehydration, as I had plenty of water yesterday. I've been consistent with my exercise, but this week I've been especially diligent about calories. And my attitude is shifting too, which I think is a huge portion of this whole journey.
Biked this morning. Wickedly windy out, and now it's just starting to rain. Like my buddy Maddy says: Aunty Em weather!

Ate at the lower range of my calories yesterday, and ran 4 miles this morning. This plateau has lasted since mid-February, where I go between 156 and 159. I am REALLY thankful that the plateau doesn't see me going back into the 160's. Something about those milestones!!!
But really want to focus now on moving into the next stage of my weight loss. My body has rested enough (according to my head), and can tackle the next steps that need to be done. Again, re-enter everything - every morsel, each taste. Switch up the cardio and do what I'm doing each morning (biking and running), but also add something in the evenings (working in my garden, or walking around town). I was reading an article this morning about how much easier weight loss is in the initial stages, especially when there is lots to lose. Now that my body is used to the activity I have been doing and the calories I have been eating, it has plateaued. WELL IT'S TIME TO SHAKE THINGS UP AND GET THAT TICKER MOVING AGAIN. Wake up and smell the coffee - a new day is coming...

So this morning my resting heart rate was up (64 when it's usually around 54-57). Then when I went to the scale and weighed myself, that was also up over a pound. So looking back in my journal, I see that I ran two days in a row, that were 4.5 and 4 miles long. Those (for me) are considered pretty long runs, and back to back like that is probably making my body revolt! Just wanted to try and get my totals as close to my goal for April as possible.
Looking back at what my goal was in January (25 miles) and February (30 miles) and March (40 miles) and April (60 miles), last month I completed over 55.5 miles. I have really come a long ways, in a very short time. I believe I need to bonk myself over the head now, as I think I am the queen of telling everyone else "no more than 10% increase per week to prevent injuries".
I'm pretty good at giving everyone else advise, but sometimes I should probably take it myself too. Good thing I didn't injure myself in my rush to increase mileage.

So this morning I woke up feeling like I'd been run over by a truck. All that raking yesterday sure worked some muscles that aren't used to being worked! And I thought that whatever strength training I've been doing is working a good range of muscles! Hahahaha
Feeling better now though, and just read through the RR posts, so I'm pretty motivated to go and run. Just thought I would pop in here first (you know, to procrastinate just a tiny bit longer).
I am starting another Economics class this week, on Wednesday. The last one was interesting enough, so I'm hoping to carry on where it left off. Thank goodness the instructor is the same, as I found his lectures very easy to listen to, and the material interesting.
Went to church this morning, and it was a very strange sermon. Left me a little bit angry, so I have to try and meditate on that. Seems that Luke called men's work "Ministery", and woman's work "Good Deeds" (from the book of Acts). I don't have any probem with it, but our female pastor sure did. I figure, as long as work is being done in God's name, why does it matter the label it gets. Why does she feel the need to be *recognized* the same way a man does? I didn't stay for coffee or fellowship after church, as I was stewing inside, trying to figure that one out. Hoping I can work on that one during the run.

So yesterday I got flowers for professional assistant day, and two very nice compliments. It was a very nice day!
There is more and more green coming to the grass every day now. With the warmer temps and the recent rains, it will soon be green indeed! Still waiting (impatiently) for hubby to til the garden. He knows me too well. As soon as it's tilled, I'll be in there scratching around and throwing in the beginnings of my garden.
