Slipped a little but getting back on track!

The day before my migraine I wasn't feeling very good, and the day of was a wash, so I've slipped a little bit in my daily ab and squat challenge. Today I am getting back on track! I have gotten in 3 walks each week so far and 10 days of strength training/toning, so that is something!

I'm 8 days into my July challenge, so far, so good! I've walked 4 times and done my ab and squat daily challenges.

    I can already feel things getting a little bit easier! I'm by no means in shape, but I'm finding that I can do more of each exercise before it really starts to hurt.

July Goals

Inspired by a friend here (Anne emoticon) I thought I'd post some goals for myself for July. I haven't posted anything to this blog in about10 months!

I downloaded two free 30-day challenge apps today: 30-day ab challenge and a 30-day squat challenge. Each day there are exercises to do, which get progressively more intense, and there are ways to check off that you've done them. I definitely need some of this kind of exercise, so I'm going to give them a try.

This all was inspired by something I saw on Facebook:

My other goal is to get out for at least a 30-minute walk at least 3 times a week. Now that summer is here I should be able to get back to the beach for my walks.

I'll use my apps to track my workouts but report back here too, particularly to report on my walks. Last summer I had worked up to some running and would like to get there again.

July 1-7: 7 for 7 as of 7/7 for ab and squats challenges, and 3 walks done!
July 8-14: 10 for 13 as of 7/13 for ab and squats challenges, and 6 walks done!

September Goals

My main goal is to maintain healthy habits now that the craziness of my work schedule is back, and my daughter's too. We're out of the house by 7:15 each morning. At least 2-3 times a month I either need to stay at work until 6:30pm, or go back for an evening event. There are usually 3-4 Saturdays that I have events, too. She is in junior high, and has ballet now six days a week, so she's got her fair share of commitments as well. My husband's job goes through periods of calm and stress, but mostly he doesn't care too much for his boss which makes things challenging. He and I both like to volunteer for the youth ballet company that our daughter dances with, so that adds on to our busy-ness.

All that being said, getting decent sleep, drinking enough water (and watching the coffee intake), exercising at least 3 times a week and eating healthfully are all important goals to me.

Stayed in range on calories 6 days

9/8 - 9/14:
Exercised 3 times
Stayed in range on calories 6 days

9/15 - 9/21:
Exercised 5 times
Stayed in range on calories 7 days

    Great goals, Cassie! It's so hard to juggle everything and make time for taking care of ourselves at time, but you have a good plan in place.

August 26th goals update

Monday, August 26, 2013

1. Exercise for at least 30 minutes at least 3 times per week.
Done 14 times so far this month.

2. Drink 8+ glasses of water daily.
Done 21 times so far.

3. Stay within 150 calories over what Fitbit says I burn daily.
Done about 20-21 times, I think. Might be more, but some days are harder to track.

4. Continue checking in daily on the Buddy Challenge thread.
Done daily.

5. Snack on fruits and vegetables more often that crackers, chips, etc.
Done 13 times so far this month. Lost focus on this one!
