I'm moving into Week 5! Holy cow!!! (yes, it has a halo!)

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Okay, only in my imagination is there a holy cow complete with halo. But it makes me laugh so it's all good! emoticon

Anyway, Week 5 begins Friday! I finished Day 3 of Week 4 of the Hundred Pushup Challenge. I've never made it this far before !!! Obviously, starting in Week 3 makes it a WHOLE LOT easier to make it to Week 4. But i did it this time and am ready to move on. Tomorrow is the progress test...pushups until exhaustion.

While I was doing my sets, to get my mind off the "why are you doing this" train, I started thinking about how many pushups I did during my progress test two weeks ago. 28..or 25...anyway, less than 30! Each set today was almost 30!!! I did 160 pushups in 5 sets! emoticon See?!?! Holy Cow!!! emoticon

The rest of the goals I've set for myself are going pretty well...except the sleep one. No matter what I do and how I plan, I can't seem to get in bed before 10:30...and it's usually closer to 11:00. And tonight? It'll be closer to 11:30. Ugh!

Good news though...taking Friday off from work...just because! Nothing planned! Might try to have lunch with a friend. There...plans made. emoticon

HOLY COW! GREAT JOB! The cow with halo image is now burned into my mind...and you're beside it doing pushups. Not exactly the image I wanted to spike in my head before bedtime, but you take what you can get, I guess...

I despise pushups. I've started and restarted that challenge a few times...and never make it past week 5.
Good for you for sticking to it!!

I'm curious about the push-ups. Are you doing proper form push-ups or a modified version? Either way, you're still doing well to stick with it. I'm still doing wall push-ups, although I can see and feel the benefit from them (although I am much, MUCH heavier than you are). Keep up the great work.

Wtg on the pushups. I can't get my upper body off the floor because of something going on in one shoulder.

Did someone cancel Spring and not tell me?

Wednesday, May 12, 2010

Here in Southern Idaho, we have had a fairly mild winter. Since I live in a valley (and other meteorological things I don't pay attention to), we generally have very mild weather. But, we do have all four seasons. At least we DID...until this year.

I swear that I am sitting in my house with jeans, a long sleeve tee and a sweatshirt and I'm still cold! (Of course, the heat is turned off, but don't get into the details!) Every softball game I've gone to for DD, I've worn at least two layers (usually 3 or 4), taken at least one blanket and still been cold! High today, 51. I should be complaining about the heat by now!!! LOL!!

This weekend, highs in the 80's. I am not complaining about that. I am complaining that it is going to jump from 60-something to 80-something in three days. Why can't it jump in one day instead? I want to be warm!!!!

Okay, I'm done whining...well done whining about the weather....for now! emoticon emoticon

We had snow yesterday. It didn't last, but I can't ever remember it snowing in May during my lifetime. I blame Iceland, personally. Frickin' volcano!

I whine about the weather MOST of the time - this year winter seems to have gone on forever, from our first big dump of snow in early October, to this gray, wet spring. I'll whine with you any ol' time!

Weather is MAJORLY screwy everywhere this year. Volcanos in Iceland, earthquakes, tornadoes, fifties in Idaho.

Love ya, doll....

we started with a really warm spring...and those temps have dipped back down into the 30's overnight. It's been frosty in the mornings.
But at least we havent gotton the kind of rain we did at this point last year...was thinking I should turn my house into an ark, haha!

We've got exactly the same weather here in Orygun. I'm going to enjoy the warm weather while it lasts, 'cause it may not be here for long.

I'm in North Carolina and for us it feels like the first time in a long time that we are actually having a Spring. Too often we go from winter to blazing hot with no lovely in between...I keep looking at the our outside thermometer and I can't believe how low the temperature is...but..When my son played baseball I remember we froze..I had worried about bleachers and hot sun and it was just the opposite..Freezing.

I'm in with you on this one. I too want it warm, but we are going from 40 to 80 now for two months! I'm ok with spring, but I would rather have summer. It is mid May for crying out load.

Not my project, my project, soon to be my project?

Tuesday, May 11, 2010

Today, I was "invited" to a meeting in my boss' boss' boss' office. Of course I was there to explain why things were not perfect and to receive all of the action items. emoticon

The part that bugs me is that one of my action items was to develop a timeline for Project A. The only problem is that Project A, which I thought should have been mine from the outset, was given to someone else a few months ago. Now, I am being asked for that timeline. emoticon

So...I asked the "owner" of Project A for a timeline. And yes, I put his boss on the e-mail! Okay, so his boss and my boss are the same guy and I really don't expect to get a timeline from him. BUT, this is a subtle (or maybe not so subtle?) "told ya so!" to remind folks that this technically isn't my project! I expressed my displeasure of having this project taken away from me at the beginning. The reasons for assigning it to "him" were given and that was that. Good thing I've been "helping" all along, huh?

The best man for the job is a woman! emoticon emoticon

A really good Mother's Day

Sunday, May 09, 2010

Started the day by sleeping in. Any day that starts by sleeping in is a good day! DH made breakfast and I ate it! LOL! After breakfast and reading the Sunday paper, I headed out to the stores. Bought me some socks, DD a new makeup bag, DS a binder for his Pokemon cards and food for everyone! The best part was I got to go by myself! emoticon

When I got home, had lunch and then started cooking up a storm. Made sweet pototo fries, buffalo chicken and potato soup. As soon as I'm done with my pushups (two more sets!), I will start the steaks with mushrooms and onions. After dinner, I will be heading to the gym for my cardio. Then a shower and some plain old couch potato time before heading to bed.

Hope all you mothers out there had a great day as well! And, if you're not a mother, hope you called yours and also had a great day!

I had a great Muther's Day too. Glad you got to sleep in a bit, with your hectic schedule, you should have been still asleep, LOL.

Also enjoyed your chuckle about your DH fixing breakfast and you eating it! I planned on making my DW breakfast but she would rather have a p_ssing match so what fun was it to make breakfast for her? Hope she enjoyed what I planned on making, that she did not eat. I found a recipe for proscuitto-mozzarella fritatta, guess I'll have to have it one day this week WITHOUT HER! LOL

Have a wonderful week! You deserve it!!!!!

Cheat Day, and man did I do it justice!

Saturday, May 08, 2010

I decided that during this one-month challenge/goal/whatever that I set for myself, I would allow myself one cheat day a week. That one day would be the day that I could eat as much as I wanted of whatever I wanted. Today is the first cheat day. And did I ever cheat!

Breakfast was pizza and Sun Chips. Then I had a Fiber One bar with peanut butter on top. Then a bagel with more peanut butter. Then chips (Ruffles) and onion dip. Then DH took me out to dinner. Mexican. Chips and salsa, beans and rice plus my entrée. AND, on the way home, we got candy...Reese's Pieces for me! Oh, did I mention the margarita and the Hornsby's I drank too?

Did I also mention that I feel really sick right now? Too much food. Too much work. Not enough sleep. I will totally remember this feeling as I work through week two so I am not *too* tempted during the week. I also need to remember this feeling on my next cheat day so that I don't cheat quite so much. BTW, I enjoyed EVERY bite!

On a slightly different note, I did get my water in (12 cups so far and about to drink more) and I exercised! AND, I get to sleep in tomorrow! Before I go grocery myself. Happy Mother's Day to me! emoticon
