Daughter got her hair done today!

Saturday, January 02, 2010

She has been asking for about six months to dye her hair. In that time, she's wanted platinum blonde, black, blonde with a stripe, black with a stripe, and multiple stripes. LOL!

She finally decided on a dark brown with a blue/purple stripe on one side. It turned out pretty well. She is ecstatic! We took one of her friends with us and the friend is pretty jealous of the hair.

After the hair (3 hours long!), we went to Target, home for lunch then off again for the library and grocery shopping. Finally home at 5:30 and finally sitting down to relax...a little after 7:00. Ready for bed, but gotta get some laundry done.

Later all!

I think those stripes are soo cute on young girls. Makes me wish I was young enought to pull it off. I would look like an aging Elvira. lol

I hurt my arm :(

Saturday, January 02, 2010

Okay, more like my arm is really sore! We got the kids a Wii for Christmas and last night the boy and I played every game. We played for almost an hour and a half. We played every game and he whooped up on me, but good!

My arm was sore by the time we were done and it's getting worse! LOL! Who'd a thunk that a video game could kick my butt! Oh well. I'll keep playing and get better and maybe the pain will go away! LOL!

Gotta be careful with toys, they can really hurt you. hehehe Maybe you should take some time to let it heal. Just tell your kids that they are so good you are afraid to play against them anymore. They will make them feel good and will give you a break. Two birds with one stone.

Sometimes sore is good? But I hate to hurt, so what am I talking about? Did you get snow? We got a bunch last night - it's gorgeous over here. One of those winter days you wish would last all winter.

The boxing can really kill you, LOL! I bought the kids Mario Kart for Christmas and my finger is killing me from pressing the gas!

Marshall and I are thinking about getting one. I don't know though...I'm an old lady and frail at best. LOL! Not sure I could keep up with it especially if you're sore! Oh well, I'll have to give it more thought. Thank you for my Spark Goodie. You're right about it being cold. My house feels like the North Pole and we got a lot of snow yesterday and rain all day today! More coming tomorrow and Sunday I guess too. Well, we'll survive! Hope you're staying toasty warm, I know how you hate the cold. Take care of yourself. (I was surprised I didn't hear about you taking the plunge today?! LOL!!!)

But Mommy, it burns!

Monday, December 28, 2009

The money in my pocket it's burning a hole! I have to spend it! LOL!

So, today I took the kids to spend their Christmas money. They behaved very well (after I told them I was willing to turn around and go home whether they had spent any money or not). We went to four stores plus the mall. They each bought a pair of pants and at least one shirt. The rest was just spent! He's broke and she has $5 left. Silly babies!

It was fun, but I'm glad we don't have to do that every day!

I hate to be a naysayer (ok, no I don't). But I never spent the $5 from grandma in my valentine or that check from my birthday...for years. And my husband took the money intended from his grandmother to pay for his college education, worked through school as an RA, and we had enough to pay down payment on a house when we got married and both have cars that we don't owe on. Everyone has their own style, but it sure is nice to not regret any trendy jeans or a toy that wasn't as fun as it looked!
Maybe one of them will have an "A-Ha" one day.

Aw. You're so sweet. But wait til they are teenagers. Oh, that's the best part. We'll see what you're gonna be blogging THEN, my friend.

My granddaughters are the same way, too. They just have to spend it, don't care what they spend it on, just gotta spend it.

DH went to the gym with me today!!!

Sunday, December 27, 2009

DH decided that he wanted to go to the gym today! I've been inviting him to join me for months, but he has not taken me up on my offer...until today! He even ate better today, more fruits and veggies, more water, and less Dirt Pepsi. I just hope he can practice moderation and not burn out too quickly.

We're going again early tomorrow! Yippee!

Thats great, my husband use to never come and then started coming along with me a couple of months ago, he became my motivation on days when I felt like not going! Now he is working out of state, so time to dig deep and make myself go!

Home again

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Just spent three days traveling and visiting...translate that to three days of eating poorly. I did get at least some exercise in every day! I'll be back in my ranges tomorrow by gum and by golly!!

On a side note, I need 155 exercise minutes to meet my fitness goal for the year! I should make it...I hope!

Of course you will make it. Take a long, long walk. Two hours of walking in the woods or somewhere pretty is NOT long at all.
