Mole update

Thursday, December 17, 2009

No, not the spy kind of mole. The plain old ugly brown spot on my arm that got removed kind. I got a card in the mail today telling me that the biopsy showed negative/benign results. Yippee!!!

After telling DH, I asked him if he would remove the stitches for me when it was time. That way, I wouldn't need to go back to the doc and pay another $10. Really, all ya gotta do is cut some string and pull it out of my arm. I'd do it, but it is on the back of my right arm. I can't cut left-handed in the best of circumstances and these ain't!

DH said he'd rather not. He's not good at that "doctor" stuff. emoticon Sissy! LOL! I can say that because eight years ago, on December 23rd!, he fell from a ladder and crushed his left ankle (the height of ladder is growing over the years...I think it was about 10 ft). In the course of getting him healthy, he had five surgeries. After one, he had a hole in his leg that needed packed with sponges daily and a stint (sp?) in his chest so he could get intravenous antibiotics. I'm the one who shot the antibiotics into that little tube! Oh yeah, and he needed shots for awhile (in his stomach) so his blood wouldn't clot. Yep, I gave him those! And he can't cut some string? Oh well! Maybe I'll take his $10 and get someone at work to remove the stitches. LOL! emoticon

YES! I love it when those reports come back Negative. Sometimes negative news is good news! Too bad about your computer virus - the thing in life I get most frustrated about is when my computer stops working. Anxiety central.

Hmmm, if you have some one you trust at work, i'd take the money and run myself, lol.
This from a woman who lets her bald headed (shaved) husband trim her hair to avoid paying for a haircut, lol.

YEAH - so glad the mole is nothing more than a mole!!!!!

I'd tell him that you need $10 for the doctor, then take a co-worker to coffee with the $10 as a thank you for yanking out those darn stitches. Heck I'd do it for you!

Great news on the mole! I fainted when I saw the stitches running through my chin when I was about 8 so I am not a good person to ask! Good luck in finding someone to take them out for you.

Gluttony is not my friend

Wednesday, December 16, 2009

We had our company Christmas potluck/party. Started out pretty good in that I helped carve the ham and turkeys and didn't pick at it like I might at home. But, then one of my co-workers brought in a cookie tray and I helped myself. Then it was time to eat the potluck and I took a little bit...from practically every plate! All of it was delicious. Then, I had to go get cheese cake...and peanut butter balls...and pumpkin cake...and I'm sure there are more things I ate that I forgot about! LOL!

There are some good things about today. One, I did take very small portions of everything I ate. Two, I remember now why I don't eat like this every day. Three, I am not at all tempted to eat like this again for the rest of the week. Four, I went to the gym tonight.

So, all in all, not a bad day. Tomorrow will back to the healthy lifestyle I'm learning to love!

So your wagon is lost too? No worries, I don't think anyone really eats perfectly every day whether they need to loose weight or not. What fun would that be to never actually enjoy food again. So today work it off and move on. Glad you had a good time!

Heehee, I usually miss my department potluck...they always have it on the 24th and since that's when I do dinner with my kids I'm never there.
But this year they decided to move it to the I might be in biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggg trouble.
Fortunately the baker extaordinaire retired last year, so the desserts won't be as good, lol.

It must have been the day - I did absolutely great yesterday until about 8 pm when DH had the idea of mulled wine and chocolate coated gingerbread (100 cal a piece! I had 6 of them). Needless to say, I won't mention the scale number this morning.

So, I'll denounce gingerbread for the rest of the season (including the wine which I don't like particularly well but it feels nice to hold the hot cup after taking a walk with Charlie! - silly me, I could have had sugarless tea instead! The effect would be the same.

Anyway - it's the elliptical today and the rest of the exercizes. So I hope to work that off my tummy area.

Isn't it amazing how awful it feels to be gluttonous? Tomorrow, you'll waken with an empty tummy and it will feel So good.

I sparked at lunch today

Monday, December 14, 2009

So...I got my phone yesterday and I carried it with me EVERYWHERE today. I didn't need to, I just did cos I could. Plus, I could pull it out and check the weather, just cos! LOL! I even slept poorly last night because EVERY dream involved my I-Phone! How sad is that?!?! emoticon

Anyway, at lunch, I decided to log in my food as soon as I was done eating it. It took me longer on the phone than it would have on a regular computer, partly cos I kept hitting the wrong buttons. But, it was fun. I liked being able to check my mail and look at Spark and everything else I could do. I know, I know, lots of people have one and it's no big deal. To them!! To me it's my coolest newest toy ever! And I'm going to enjoy it until it's old hat. emoticon

Thanks for listening to me ramble on about the phone. I'll try to have something new to say tomorrow. No promises tho! LOL!

After my boss got an I-Phone you couldn't pay me to get one. He has the worst cell coverage EVER and the thing sounds crappy. But he loves it and it does make it nice that he can be on the web and doing e-mail all the time.

Hope you love yours! Enjoy.

I wanted an IPhone, but went the cheaper route. My oldest daughter got a Blackberry & checks her 16-yr-old's grades all the time on it! He really hates that. She can tell if he did or did not turn in a paper he was missing. I have geek friends who use their IPhone's internet connection to run their laptops at our geek conferences. They get their phone logged on, hool up their computer, and run through all the cool things they want to show us fellow geeks. I'm jealous of all the applications.

iPhone? Wow. You're really pleased with yourself, aren't you? Yeah, my daughter has the iPod that looks like the iPhone. She looks pretty cool until her cell phone rings and she has to pull out the $19.99 Samsung. She definitely would kill for your iPhone. Can you imagine the shame that girl must endure when she talks on it? I'm sure she gets pitiful glances, snide remarks and looks of disgust from her peers. But, you, YOU, have the coolest phone in the WORLD!!!!! BWAH-HA-HA!!!

Shame on you. Kids are talking on Samsungs....have you no shame?

New toys KILL productivity!

Monday, December 14, 2009

If you've read my blogs the last couple of days, I was talking about how much I wanted to get done today. Started okay today. Took my truck to get the heater fixed (YIPPEE) and went to breakfast with DH (even ordered well!). Went to Shopko and got the kids done for Christmas.

But, then, the trouble started. DH took me to get my Christmas present early. An I-Phone! Yippee!!! Do you know how hard it is to be a productive, responsible adult when there are new toys to play with? Man, I love my new phone! I was somewhat restrained and loaded to (free) apps and played online only a little while. Then, I went back to my to-do list.

Here's the run down:
Gym - Did it!
Laundry - Finished it!
Make 3 to 4 batches of Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Balls (Office Christmas party on Tuesday and that is what I bring) - Made all I need to!!
Make lasagna for the freezer - lunches when there are no other leftovers - done
Make Southwest Sausage Bake - dinner - done
Library - done (sorta)
Sort and deliver Pampered Chef - sorted and most of deliveries will be in truck for tomorrow's delivery
Finish the last few Chrismas cards - done
Clean and organize the bathroom drawers and under the sink -
Clean under kitchen sink - again, no
Read - some, never enough
Start all auction items for DH - most of them started!

So, for a two-day weekend, I'd say I kicked some pretty serious arse. Now...all I need is a day of rest. Maybe around Christmas?

So glad you got the heater in your truck fixed - I've been worried about you in the cold!!

Half of the weekend gone. Half of the to-do list too?

Sunday, December 13, 2009

Here is what I put together to get done this weekend.

Make 3 to 4 batches of Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Balls (Office Christmas party on Tuesday and that is what I bring)
Make lasagna for the freezer - lunches when there are no other leftovers
Make Southwest Sausage Bake - dinner
Sort and deliver Pampered Chef
Finish the last few Chrismas cards
Clean and organize the bathroom drawers and under the sink
Clean under kitchen sink
Start all auction items for DH

I didn't go to the gym, but I did do a DVD with Jillian Michaels, so done! (Going tomorrow too!
Laundry - only three loads left. Practically done!
Made two batches of peanut butter balls. Two more tomorrow.
Made lasagna and froze it. Made potato soup too!
Didn't make SW Sausage Bake cos DH took us all out to dinner. Will make it tomorrow!
Renewed books online
Sorted Pampered Chef and delivered two. Will deliver two more tomorrow and a WHOLE bunch on Monday.
Finished Christmas cards and sent!
Didn't clean, not yet.
Read a little, but never enough! LOL!
Didn't start auctions...yet.

Not a bad day. Oh, and I shoveled the walk and driveway after it snowed for five hours. That wasn't on the list, but it got done anyway!

Time to put away the chocolates and watch Saturday Night Live until I fall asleep (gimme about 2 minutes!)
