Let me start by saying, I like Diet Pepsi. I like the caffeine, I like the taste, I like the fizz. DP is my friend! LOL! I have ignored my friend for four days and it almost killed me! The cravings were strong (still are!), but I'm going to make it. No way am I going to have a DP now and ruin an entire day of no DP. Tomorrow, on the other hand, is a different story! LOL! I plan to have my soda, but not as much as I had five days ago. We'll see how that goes.

One of the teams I am on is having a weekly challenge. The challenge is to avoid white potatoes, white bread, white rice, etc. for two of the seven days. No problem there. The other is to avoid alcohol and soda for four out of the seven days. Since I'm not much of an imbiber, the alcohol portion is no big deal either. However, Diet Pepsi is my caffeine source of choice. I don't drink coffee and tea only has a small portion of the caffeine that soda and coffee do. PLUS, I like Diet Pepsi! It tastes good!
Well, I decided to take the challenge...mostly on days that I don't work. I started yesterday (Saturday) and will continue through Tuesday. As I only have to get up early one of those days (Monday), I think I can do this. Plus, I'm heading to bed early tonight...I hope. It hasn't been too bad yet, going without. Definitely want one...right NOW! But, can handle not having one.

something chocolate! My kids each have a friend over and they all went trick-or-treating together. They went to EVERY house in our subdivision plus the one next to us (only if the light was on, of course!). They made a HAUL!!!
DH and I sorted the candy and threw out anything that looked questionable. My son is doing the extra sort to get rid of any candy that has gluten in it. All of them are now sorting, trading and basically be little barterers! LOL!! The girls will only trade for chocolate! Good girls!! LOL!
As for me, I have done very well. Two challenges from Spark Teams had me forgoing both Diet Pepsi (UGH!) and refined sugar. The no-Diet Pepsi is for four days total, the no refined sugar is just today (can you say cruel?). LOL! I am taking my Halloween tax from the kids so I can overdose on refined sugar tomorrow! LOL!!

I know, I know...wahhh, wahhh, whine, whine! But that's the way I feel! LOL!
I had an appointment to get my hair cut and colored (first time in 8 months!) this afternoon. I generally work out after work. For those of you who don't color, it's generally not a good idea to wash your hair right after you get it done. For those of you who don't work out, your hair generally needs washed after a work out! LOL!! Anyway...to make sure I still got in my workout AND got my hair done, I decided to work out this morning.
For me, that means getting up at 4:20 in order to have time to workout and make it to work on time. As I laid down to sleep, I visualized myself getting up, getting dressed and getting to the gym. Amazingly, it worked! Or something did! LOL!! I actually got up and went to the gym at oh-dark-thirty! I got on the elliptical, set my normal settings, my normal time, my normal machine. When I finished, I had burned more than 100 calories less than what the machine normally says AND gone almost a full mile less!
I will admit, the elliptical did seem harder to get moving today than normal. And now I know why. They reset the rubber bands in the elliptical every night, so they're wound tighter in the morning. By the time I get there in the evening, the rubber bands have stretched back out! LOL! Either that, or I am not a morning person....Nahhh, can't be that! LOL!
