First, our boxer's welts are gone. She is her feisty little (or not so little) self again. DH took her to the dog park today and she was not very well behaved. A small poodle was apparently being too "poodle-y" so our little girl decided to teach her a lesson. Abby (boxer) grabbed the poodle by the neck (not hard enough to hurt, but playing pretty rough) and put that poodle on the ground. (Say Uncle!). The owner of the poodle was understandably upset and DH made Abby behave. After she was allowed to play again, DH started to pet a giant Mastiff (yes, I know that seems to be redundant, but this dog was HUGE). Abby decided that DH needed to be protected and came after that Mastiff! Dumb girl. That's when DH and Abby left the park. Dh lectured her at the park. On the way from the park to the truck. And again when they got in the truck. Guess who pouted all the way home! No, not DH...Abby! LOL!

I took my workout gear to work again today. Plenty of time to work out between my 3:00 mtg and my 5:30 mtg...or so I thought. Nope! Had to go explain to the next group (50th or 51st today) what we had going, why we weren't doing this and were doing that and who was going to do it. By the time that was all clear, it was 5:00. So, no workout for me today. That's all right. I'll get some in on Saturday. That makes five days this week. Very doable!

Back in on calories today. No cookies, but I did have some Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream. Held myself to 1/2 cup. Maybe I'll even be in range for carbs! Yeah, you're right...probably not. LOL!

That's all I got for now. I probably have some other thoughts in my head, but I'm not going to go look for them. I'm afraid I'd get lost and not find my way out! LOL! Besides, if I found some and shared, you all might not talk to me any more! hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee hee ahhhhh....

A little over on calories today...

if you can call going over by 800 calories a "little." I was doing okay. At lunch, I decided not to eat what I brought for lunch and went out instead. I could have chosen Blimpie's or Subway, but I went to Jack in the Box. However, I did do pretty good here. I thought about ordering the Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. Yumm!! But I chose relatively healthy and got the Jumbo Jack with cheese instead. At least, that's what I ordered. Not sure what I got cos it had two burgers and bacon. Don't get me wrong, I ate it! And it was tasty! LOL! But it wasn't what I ordered!

I wasn't planning to work out tonight as Wednesdays are puppy training days. Unfortunately, Abby has welts all over her today. We're not sure where she got them or if it's from something she ate or what. She's doing better now, but we decided not to take her to puppy training. Luckily, everyone else in our class called in "sick" too so we're extending the class by one week. Yay!

So, with no place to go, I decided to head to the gym. I did a quick 35 minutes on the elliptical while watching some shows I had never seen before. Yay me! I came home, took a shower and ate six cookies. Yep...SIX! emoticon Think that might be part of the reason I'm 800 calories over my range? Yeah, I think it might be. Exploring other options tho...just in case the cookies were meant to be eaten. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sorry to hear about your puppy, hope the welts go away soon.
Hey the cookies did need to be eaten, I had one of those days on Monday and you know something, I don't regret eating them as I didn't gain weight and I had a busy day and lots of exercise.

LOL, your blog reminded me of a cartoon that I saw years ago that is quit fitting for SP AND your blog. It was of a guy sitting at the table in the restaurant ordering his dinner. He told the waiter his order, a small salad, but not to bring the salad, but instead bring him a large serving of prime rib with all the fixin's. LOL

I love working out...no really, I do!

This week, I made a concerted effort to work out more during the week than I had for the last few weeks. And, I must say, I have been successful! I went to the gym near my home both Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately there was a glitch at the gym on Sunday so I couldn't get in! Did I give up and go home and veg? Nope. I went home and got on the treadmill for 50+ minutes!

Yesterday and today I took my gym bag to work and used my lunch hour to workout. Yesterday my "lunch" was at 4:00! I went to the gym at work, worked out, showered and made it back in plenty of time for my 5:30 meeting. Today was a little earlier, but still 3:00.

I am LOVING how good I feel this week! I slept like a log last night...first time in awhile. I didn't feel sleepy in any of my meetings or while working on the PC at work. I get to eat more food! And today, right after another meeting, one of the ladies I work with told me how good I was looking! Yay!! I have been maintaining for the last few months and I think she has noticed the glow (no, not sweat...I showered, honest!) that I have because of the exercise! I feel better about myself, I walk taller, I make better food choices and I'm more relaxed. That's what exercise does for me. I'm going to keep it up!

    exercise you are right it takes me three hours to complete mine i do only so much at one time buit i know i can be proud too to get them done as you are so keep it up and enjoy

    Woo Hoo for you! I totally agree with you. I have been getting up early and exercising before work on my new exercise bike. Then on my break at work I take a quick 1 mile walk and then surprise, surprise I felt like working out again in the afternoon. Exercise is great! It works wonders for the soul.

Workout at work!

Since football season started, I have been spending four days a week watching my son's practice. The fift week day has been spent on puppy training. This means that my normal evening workouts have gone out the window.

Today, I decided that I would work out during my "lunch" at work. Unfortunately, I didn't have any time for lunch until 4:00 this afternoon! The good news is that I went at 4:00, got a good 25 minutes on the stair stepper in AND made it back in time for my 5:30 meeting!

I even packed my bag for tomorrow. I've got to remember my I-Pod too. Reading is good, but a type_A personality like myself needs to read, listen to music and work out to truly experience the gym! LOL!

    I wish I could work out at work...but a half hour lunch just doesn't quite cut it.

  I've spent YEARS watching practices and the best thing about it is that there is usually some place to walk!! Especially at a football field--walk around the track for an hour!!

Raisin diet?

One of the magazines I read has a new diet every week. I read them all because I figure I can get at least one good idea from each. Or reinforce something I've already learned. The one I read this week is the raisin diet, even though I don't think they call it that.

The idea is to replace 500 calories in your diet with raisins, about one cup, every day. You want me to eat one full cup of raisins EVERY day! I don't think so. I like raisins all right, but a whole cup...every day? emoticon

They even touted the benefits of raisins, but the amount you had to eat to get the benefits was staggering! Has anyone tried increasing their raisin intake as a weight loss tool? If so, how did it go? If not, would you?

    I don't think 1 cup is that much raisins. I think I could do it as I like raisins, but it might get old everyday, but so do other diets and fad diets, so who knows, lol
