Raisin diet?

One of the magazines I read has a new diet every week. I read them all because I figure I can get at least one good idea from each. Or reinforce something I've already learned. The one I read this week is the raisin diet, even though I don't think they call it that.

The idea is to replace 500 calories in your diet with raisins, about one cup, every day. You want me to eat one full cup of raisins EVERY day! I don't think so. I like raisins all right, but a whole cup...every day? emoticon

They even touted the benefits of raisins, but the amount you had to eat to get the benefits was staggering! Has anyone tried increasing their raisin intake as a weight loss tool? If so, how did it go? If not, would you?

    Ugh! I can't eat even one raisin! So I think I'll pass on that one, lol.

    I don't think 1 cup is that much raisins. I think I could do it as I like raisins, but it might get old everyday, but so do other diets and fad diets, so who knows, lol

    I like raisens but not that much. A few in my oatmeal is good for me. Sounds like another "fad" diet.

A really good day

Slept in. Got ready to take the boy to football. I had on a billion layers cos it was cold here! Okay, maybe only half a billion layers. LOL! Took a package to the post office to send out. Unfortunately, I got there at 10:36 and they close at 10:30! Dang it! I would have left earlier had I known their hours. Oh well.

The football game was a really good one. I saw a guy I worked with until very recently. He's doing well. I didn't get to talk to him for very long since he was one of the refs! The boys played really well and they won. This was a very close game. Final score was 22 - 20! Great game to watch.

After the game, I headed to the library (favorite part of Saturday!). Came home, changed into workout gear and headed to the gym. Sixty-five minutes on the elliptical and read 93 pages in my book! Came home to cook T-bone steak and mushrooms with brocolli (YUM!). Now I''m communicating with my Spark Friends until half time of the Boise State game (I'll finally shower then!) and then I'll get some stuff started for DH. AND, I'll still have time to read some more. Yippee!!!

Football tomorrow!

Saturdays are football days for the next couple of weeks. Tomorrow, we have concessions for my son's football team from eight until ten. We have enough folks working that I don't have to be there at all! I will probably swing by at least once, just to make sure that everyone is doing okay.

Then, the boy plays at noon, so has to be there at 11:00. So far, every game has been at least 30 minutes late starting. And, after all that, I get to watch my Boise State Broncos kick some UC Davis behind! Go Broncos!

I am getting things accomplished! Son has a b-day party to go to tomorrow. I got a card and gift on the way home from work and it is ready to go! I've got all my chores done for tomorrow and even have a little time to get some stuff done for DH!

At work, I'm hovering around 150 unread e-mails. I whittle it down each day, but it gains each night. I'm even getting some projects completed. YAY!!

Off to get the last couple of things done so I can get to bed at a half way decent hour.

    ive had 100 e mail once when i was not on for 2 days but i dont work
so can come on throughout the day i am glad you are getting things done hard to keep up when you work and do every thing else too emoticon

I need a goal

I mean a real goal. Not just try to eat good. Or try to exercise. I need a S.M.A.R.T. goal.

S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Achievable
R = Realistic
T = Timely

There are two I can think of right now. Stay in my range for fiber 5 days of every week for the month of October.

Walk for at least 30 minutes during three of my son's football practices each week for the remainder of football season (three more weeks).

I'm sure there are many more areas that I can improve in, but we'll stick with these two for now.

    I love it when a plan comes together.

Great idea too, especially the walking during the son's football practice. I know you'd rather be reading, but walking is a GREAT plan!
