The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

Friday, September 25, 2009

Dan Brown knows how to write a book! I'm not even halfway through this book, but am already hooked! I have read everything that Dan Brown has written (at least everything I know about...four books...this is number five).

All of his books take brain power to read, even more to understand! I don't think I quite follow it all the way and I'm sure I'm missing stuff. But, that's okay. Means that the next time I read it, it will be a whole new book again! LOL!

Loose leash walking rocks!

Thursday, September 24, 2009

First...a quick challenge. Try to say "loose leash walking". Just once! It's harder than it looks. It's even hard to type! LOL!

Tonight was our second puppy training class. We worked on loose leash walking for most of it and Abby kicked tail! She is such a good baby and wants to please us so much that she did really well. Of course, that was just in the store. We'll have to practice in sooooo many places with so many other distractions. Should be fun! We'll practice with Scooby too. He wants to please as well and should learn very quickly.

We also practiced sit and stay (just a little bit). Our homework is to practice loose-leash walking at least 30 minutes per day, practice sit and write down all of the things our puppies do that we don't want them to do (like dig in the trash, chewing on stuff, eating small children, stuff like that).

I'm looking forward to that homework. The pulling/walk thing was getting old!

Time for bed. Later all!

Glad you both are enjoying puppy class. If you get into it then the dog does to and I'm so happy for both of you! Keep having fun with the training and you'll both end of trained. :)

RWETHAIRYET 9/24/2009 11:10AM dog is part husky...especially the part that feels the need to pull the load!! I'm happy if she doesn't just pull me off my feet, lol.
Have to watch out for that eating small children and animals part too.
Sounds like you're getting a lot out of your training. Enjoy

If I try the loose leash walking, our dogs will be at your house, or somewhere other than ours, LOL.
I'm happy that it's working out for you and Abby! You can take Bandit and Peaches, our Cocoa would do ok most likely, but no guarantees, LOL.

Keep having that FUN 2

Can you still function if your head implodes?

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

My answer is Yes! Because my head imploded last week and no one noticed! Except me, of course. With the re-org at work, we went from four people working on the same products down to me and three folks who are trying to dump their work onto me! With that, I need to learn a new part of the job, working with subcons. There doesn't seem to be a clear list of fill out this form, then this one, then this one. Still asking for that!

We did get a new body working on the "my" product. He knows the job and he knows the subcon part (mostly). Just have to train him on the product. Should only take a year or two! LOL! And, we did find out that we are getting one new person. He will be learning the job, the product AND the subcon. So, not only do I cover what will be his products, but I also get to assist in the training of both of these guys. AND, keep my projects on track. And send updates. And go to meetings (I had SEVEN meetings scheduled today...yes, I work an EIGHT hour do the math!) LOL! For those without a calculator, that means I only had about an hour to do real work. hee hee

And no one has noticed that my head imploded and that crazy little miner guys are running around through the remaining gray matter, making brain angels and having brain-ball fights. I know they are there. I hear them! LOL!

Okay, time to put all these crazy thoughts to bed.

Later taters!

Well you look pretty good and sound pretty rational for someone with an imploded head. Will it grow back or are you stuck with it that way forever? emoticon

I hope the rest of your week goes well! HUGS to you.

Y'know I thought I saw something on Fox News about someone with implosion issues. I thought Oprah or Conan were trying to get you on their shows, no? If nothing else, maybe a guest spot on Rachel Ray? Jon and Kate? KARDASHIANS??????

sorry about the implosion, but think of the bright side, you may have unlocked some phenomenal right-brain secrets that you can share with the world...or...better yet...

What am I forgetting?

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

At work today, I reduced the number of unread e-mails to just under 200. Of course, I left early to watch my daughter play volleyball, so it'll be back up to 250+ in the morning, but I did knock it down!

I'm caught up with everything at home and it's only 10:23.

So...what am I forgetting? What was I supposed to do that I didn't? Who's going to yell at me tomorrow for not doing it today? I don't know and I don't think I care enough to stay up any longer and find out! LOL!

Sweet dreams!

B - I write this because every morning I believe I lose my brains on the way out to the car, in the immortal words of Rosanne Rosannadanna: if its not one thing its another! emoticon

Being a responsible adult sucks!

Monday, September 21, 2009

And all of you who are know I'm right! LOL! If I were an irresponsible anything (adult, child, warmonger, etc.) I could have slept in much later than I did. I could have taken a nap. I would have sat on my butt and read my book until my buns were numb! LOL!

But, no, my parents had to instill a work ethic and a conscience. Dang it! I did sleep in until a little after 9:00. Since no one else was up until 8:30, I have no guilty feelings about that at all! After eating the delicious breakfast DH prepared, I started getting stuff done. I went to the gym. I did two loads of laundry. I made dinner for both tonight and tomorrow night. I started auctions. I braided my daughter's hair. I cooked my veggies for the next couple of days (and did the dishes from that!). Now I'm going to fill out paperwork for FSA reimbursements. When all that is done, it will be time for bed.

All I wanted to do, however, was find out what "terrible" secrets Robert Langdon finds in Dan Brown's newest book "The Lost Symbol"! (He's the guy who wrote "The DaVinci Code") Regardless of whether I believe everything he writes, it is an entertaining story. And I want to be entertained! Whaaaaaa!!! emoticon

Okay...done being a baby. Back to adulthood. Hope you are all enjoying your responsible lives! LOL!

I agree with you that is why I carve out 2 hours on Sunday mornings to do just that. Lay on the couch and drink coffee and read. Ohhh I love my Sunday mornings.

And it doesn't even have to be the couch - a nice walk, a hanging out by the river, an afternoon coffee in a deserted coffee shop. Or a non-stop viewing of the BBC series Pride and Prejudice...
