The weekend, that is. Dang! So...let me give you a run down.
Saturday - Get up at 6:00 and go to the gym. Come home, shower, eat breakfast and take the dogs (two of them) to get their shots. Get there by 8:45. Wait for the place to open, get in, figure out that my dogs are sooooo poorly behaved, leave at 9:15 (while noticing how quiet it is after my dogs leave).
Get my son to his football game at 10:45 (30 minute drive) and watch him play. Translation - sit in hot sun for 3 hours. Drive home, eat some lunch, gather books and head to the library. Stop at PetsMart to sign dogs up for training classes. Go to Jake's Place for GF items, hit Walmart for a couple of items, get home at 5:30. Start dinner, cook veggies for later in the week, and I'm not sure what all else, but I do know I missed most of the BSU game (they won!!!). Oh...and throughout the day, did laundry when I could.
Sunday - slept in until 8:00, took the kids out to breakfast. Planned to go grocery shopping while out, but daughter was sick so I took her home. Got her settled and headed out to go grocery shopping. Shopped, came home, put stuff away, did laundry and started auctions for DH. Went back out to have dinner with in-laws, came home, walked the dogs, finished auctions and another project for DH and did another load of laundry. Gathered food and clothes for work tomorrow and FINALLY get to sit down for a couple of minutes. Unfortunately, it is already after 10:30 and I need to get to bed soon.
I guess I know where my weekend went!
To all of you who have posted on my blogs and left comments on my page, thank you! I have read them all and I will respond. Honest! I appreciate the support and look forward to hearing from all of you.
Later all and wish me some down time!

I am too exhausted to blog tonight. Up and running since 6:00 this morning and I still have a load of laundry in the dryer. Going to go eat a piece of toast, read a couple of minutes and then go to bed so I can start all over again tomorrow.
Later y'all!

Intrigued now, ain't ya! LOL!
So, first and foremost, Grandma has been moved out of the CVICU (cardio vascular intensive care unit). Impressed with my doc-speak, huh? NOT! Anyway, she has been able to take liquids without assistance and is on a liquid diet. She is stable...not critical but stable! Yay! It's still one day at a time, but she's heading in the right direction.
Second, the BIG re-org announcement came out today. And, yes, I have a new boss! Hip, Hip, HOORAYYYY!!!
My new boss was my boss three bosses ago, so I know what he is like, what he expects and what I need to supply to make sure he's good. The one slight damper is that there used to be four people handling the same products that I handle (yes, I'm one of the four). One left to another group and two others have new responsibilities. That means that right now, I am the only one officially working on my products. Luckily, the powers-that-be recognize the hole and are working on shoring it up. Details next week...or so they say.
Thirdly, Nutritional Boot Camp. Today was day one of four. Most of it was familiar. She did say, tho, that EVERYTHING you do makes a Difference. Everything. That one donut you didn't eat, makes a difference. That one cigarette that you didn't smoke, makes a difference. I'm going to remember that the next time I think I've "blown it" for the day. At the end of the class, she was showing us some reference material. And what do you think was there?!?! YES! SparkPeople.com! She said that it was one of her favorite sites! How cool is that?
Now, for the little extra. I left work a little more than two hours early today so that I could meet with my son's teacher to discuss his Celiac and what we could do to help him stay included in school activities. I was ten minutes early for my appointment, but when I tried to open the front door to the school, it was locked. Really? Okay, so I get my phone out and call the school to let them know that I am there and they need to let me in. The call immediately goes to voice mail and does not give me any extensions to try to call.
While I am on the phone with the voice mail, one of the secretaries walks out. I tell her that I need in to meet with the teacher. Oh, she went home. She thought your appointment was at 2:45. Based on our e-mails, I could see where the confusion might have come from. But, the teacher did not call me on any of my phones to determine why I was late. She did not e-mail me. She just left.
I will admit that I handled the frustration very poorly while I was at the school. This was the last straw for me for this school and I took it out on the secretary (she needs her own dressing down, but not for this!). I left the school, came directly home and wrote an e-mail to the teacher clearly expressing my displeasure at being blown off. I did not curse (tho I wanted to!) nor did I do any name-calling (yes, I can be very childish). Instead, I explained that I had taken time out of my schedule to meet with her and she did not uphold her part. Therefore, she needs to now work around my schedule if she still wants to meet. If she doesn't want to meet, I told her that I would assume that she is an expert in Celiac and would be able to guarantee my son's health and safety in all school activities. Then I added the principal of the school and hit send.
When my DH got home, I let him know that he will probably need to be the one who interacts with my son's teacher for the rest of the year! LOL! I'm sure I didn't make any friends with that particular missive. But, you know, when you make an appointment with someone, you'd think they would be there. Can you tell I'm still miffed, irked and frustrated by this experience? The good news is that I used the anger (yes, I said it, anger!) to burn some extra calories at the gym!

Word on the street is that "The BIG Announcement" about my area's re-org will be tomorrow. I'm excited, nervous and a little cynical. Part of me does not believe that the announcement will come. The sad thing is...we have a pool going (no $$ involved, just bragging rights) about when the announcement will come. The first guy chose tomorrow at 4:30pm. At first, I figured 3:00 tomorrow as I'm leaving at 2:45. But, I changed my guess to be 9:11 on 9/11. Easy to remember, right? I'm hoping the bad day/time will balance out and become good news. I'll let you know tomorrow if it happens!
So, for my own edification (or memory!), I need to tell y'all about:
1. Nutritional boot camp
2. Re-org news (if any)
3. Update on Grandma
Not necessarily in that order!
Later!

My company is offering a class titled "Nutritional Boot Camp" for free during lunch for the next four weeks. I have to give up my read-on-the-patio-and-soak-up-the-sun time, but I think it will be worth it. I feel like I am pretty knowledgeable about general nutrition, but am always open to learning more. I'm really hoping that I learn things that I can put into practice in my daily life.
First class is Friday. I'll try to remember to let you know how it went and whether it was worth it (yes, it's free, but my time is EXPENSIVE!!!) LOL!
