Every month (or so) a group of us get together to eat, drink and be merry. We use Bunco as the excuse. We all bring something edible to share and our own drinks. As always, I took my peanut butter balls. My drinks of choice tonight were one Mojito (in a bottle) and a really big tea. I drink the alcohol first so that by the time Bunco is over, there are no lingering effects.
Generally, I am one of the loudest people in the group (I can hear the collective gasp from all my faithful readers! LOL!) Tonight, however, I was NOT the most obnoxious member of the group. One other lady was louder AND she stomped on the floor when she did good. (That last part wasn't so good...we were on the third floor of an apartment building. I think the downstairs neighbors might have been getting irritated...)
We had bon bons, meatballs (delish!), Dibs, spinach dip with bread, seven-layer dip with chips, watermelon and cupcakes. No, I did not eat EVERYTHING...just some of most of it. At "half-time" I did not have any more food. I actually didn't feel good!
My final score was not enough to win the pot, but it wasn't low enough to have to wear the low-score chicken necklace! YAY!! I also did not get the last bunco, so I didn't get the hostess gift. But, you know what, it was okay. I had a blast and get to go again next month!!! Yippee!!

Okay, so there was no chocolate-covered bacon at my fair. At least, none that I found. Not that I was looking that hard for it! The unusual thing I saw at the fair was deep-fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. I'd rather have the bacon!! No, we didn't get any. My son can't have the bread and my daughter made a face when we read the sign.
We got to the fair about 12:30 and the kids went directly to the carnival. They rode a few rides before we headed to the magician and then the hypnotist. Both were really funny and entertaining and I'm glad we watched them. After the hypnotist, we got food. She had a corn dog and an ice cream cone. He had a hot dog (no bun) with grilled onions and pickles. I had a Junior Angus Cheeseburger and we all shared some fries. They rode more rides afterward and surprisingly didn't puke! I almost did just listening to them describe the rides.
The whole time they were riding the rides, I was sitting in the shade reading my book (G-Free Diet, A Gluten-Free Survival Guide by Elizabeth Hasselbeck). I enjoyed it very much! I even paid attention to the book so that I got some refreshers and even some new knowledge.
After the fair, I took the kids to the Arctic Circle for shakes and I got a corn dog. You'd think I would learn to just eat the corn dog at the fair and then I won't be disappointed by the other food! Oh well...I got my fix in (for $1.29 instead of $3!). I have $10 left (to be used for gas) and then I will officially be broke until payday! Yep, one full week away. Oh well...I'll survive!
Time to go relax and finish my book. Tomorrow is library day!!!

I was up and around by 8:00 this morning. WAAAAYYYYYY too early for a vacation day, but I did it anyway. After breakfast, I headed to the gym. Since I knew I had softball tonight, I only did 30 minutes on the elliptical. No strength training today. Just couldn't make myself do it! (BTW, sore today, but a good sore.)
After the gym, I showered (yes, you are all welcome!) and got dressed (yep, welcome again! LOL!) The kids and I ate lunch and then headed out. Got a whopping $7.50 for 25 pounds of aluminum cans before heading to ShopKo to return shoes and pick out new ones. Daughter found some really cute shoes (that fit) for only $10! I had some $$$ left over to get a gift for a birthday party this weekend. Then, I remembered that I needed to go BACK to Boise to get the football pants. DANG IT!!! I try to make a loop to save time and gasoline. Didn't work today!
Finally got all of my errands done and got home just in time to take the girl to practice. Came home...worked on the computer for my husband's business...got myself ready for the game and the boy ready for practice. Stayed at his practice for about 30 minutes b4 heading to my game. Did I mention it hit 100' today? Well...it did. The high was right about the time my game started. Our team was short people, but we played anyway. I had two really GREAT hits (out of the infield, in the air, not directly to anyone!) and got on base each time. I even made it around both times. We won't talk about the 3rd time up...
After I got home, I wolfed down dinner (blood sugar had plummeted at the game and I had nuthin' to snack on!). And THEN it was time to take the dogs for a walk. The good news is that I maxed out the number of spark points I could get for exercise today!! LOL!
So, here I sit, Sparking my Spark friends instead of going to bed. A girl has to have priorities, right! LOL!
Tomorrow is the fair and I am definitely have a corn dog smothered in mustard. I might have to try the chocolate-covered bacon too...if they have it.

I started doing some strength training again today. Started slow so I can still move tomorrow! LOL! I did bench presses, bicep curls, overhead triceps extensions and assisted pullups. Hopefully I won't be too sore tomorrow.
Tomorrow will be a busy day even though that is NOT what was on my schedule! Need to get the girl new shoes and the boy padded football pants. I also need to take the cans to the recycling center and coins to the CoinStar (yep, too lazy to count them myself!). All that before getting the girl to practice and the boy to practice and maybe have an extra kid spending the night. Oh yeah...and I have a game tomorrow night. Tired already!
See you all tomorrow!
