Harry Potter or G.A. McKevett?

Thursday, July 23, 2009

Tomorrow night, daughter is going to a water park with her best friend for a birthday party. DH has mentioned taking son to the "Hottest Movie of the Summer"! (Which, I guess, is Harry Potter.) I have not officially been invited to join the boys and I am having an internal debate about whether I want to be.

Pros of being invited:

Spend time with DH and son
See HP movie (like the books, movies are ok)

Pros of not:
I get to stay home by myself!
I could read
I would be home with only the dogs
I could Spark people with no interruptions
I would be alone
I could read

So, what do you think? Which option is better? Hmmmmm..... emoticon

LOL, I figured that you would NOT go to the movies with the boys and make'em pay for not inviting you. Would that not be the way I should have expected things to go. LMAO

Good luck either way, can't say that my way would be the best either.

But I would definitely be interested in your final decision. I kinda sound like that game show, "Is that your final answer?" LOL

PS - I did not mean to double post! The stupid program kept telling me to remove the profanity from my post - there wasn't any, so in trying to figure out what the HECK (let's see if it will allow that!) was going on, I somehow managed to post twice.

I just LOVE computers! (Insert sarcastic tone there) Is it just me, or are computers kind of smug?? It seems like they're always acting like they know it all, even when they're wrong! Sounds like a couple people I know!

Crikey! What a day!

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 started out normally. Meeting at 8:30. Ten minutes into it, I get a page to see the e-mail and mtg notice for 9:00. Okay, fine. Leave 1st mtg, read e-mail, go to 2nd mtg. That one lasts a little over an hour and (of course) I get action items! It is now 10:20 and I have 40 minutes to do my "regular" work. Eleven o'clock, new mtg, lasts until one. Really fast lunch...more "regular" work. Three o'clock mtg, lasts until four. Regular work, 4:30 mtg. Lasts until after five. All mtgs (except the 8:30 one) was with the same group of people. Corporate needed info today for a mtg tomorrow. Can you say "Short Notice"? emoticon

Of course, I get home late and guess what?!? No, no one started dinner. I was hoping. I mean, that's what the menu is for, right? More running around to get dinner on and get ready for softball practice. I guess it's a good thing that practice was cut short (only two of us showed). Now I can get the rest of my work done so I can do it all again tomorrow! emoticon

I'm beginning to believe they expect me to do nothing but go to meetings during the day, and then do all my work at night, for free. It's an interesting new paradigm.

LOL, Barbara, Sounds like someone needs to delegate. You don't have to do EVERYTHING do you?

Have a GREAT day!

Then again, you could always let the battery go dead on the cell or pager, whatever your method of contact is, LOL!

Did you catch a baseball with your eyes or...

are you really tired? emoticon

Yep, someone asked me that question today. And, after looking in the mirror, I had to agree...the circles under my eyes were HUGE! Guess that's what happens when you don't get enough sleep.

So, on that note, I'm going to sign off and get to bed earlier tonight...maybe even an hour earlier!!

I've never been one to wear makeup. And finally, at the age of 21 I decided I was going to start. So I spent like 30 minutes in the bathroom doing my eye makeup. Eyeshadow, eye liner, mascara.

I came out of the bathroom and said to my boyfriend: "well?!?" - awaiting a wonderful response.....he said "you got it all underneath your eyes"

I ran to the bathroom in horror and looked to see what I got all under my eyes - IT WAS CIRCLES! The bags were so big. Now I have to wear concealer there. Blagh!

So, reading this I had to laugh - and thought of my horrible circles story!
Hoep you're getting yoru sleep tonight!! NIGHT!

How do you know when the dog is done walking?

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

When she lays down in the shade of a parked car.

We took the puppies for a walk before softball practice today since it would be late and dark by the time I would be home. So, son and I troop out with Scooby and Abby at 6:30. I guess I should mention today's high was 97'. emoticon

We didn't quite make it to the turnaround point when Abby, the boxer, laid down in the shade of a parked car. We took that as a sign that she might be just a little hot and tired. We rested, turned around and headed home. Every drop of shade, every blade of grass turned into a resting point for that poor puppy!

We all made it home safely. The dogs drank ALOT of water (so did son and I, but we're not as important emoticon) and then collapsed!

I drank my water, grabbed my socks and headed to softball practice. So glad I don't wear a fur coat!

When the weather is THAT hot, it would be good to take a bottle of water for YOU and one for the dog(s). That way everyone gets a chance to get hydrated. I usually don't take water on the walks, as I don't walk that far with the dogs. When we take them to the dog park, we ALWAYS take water. If I took longer walks with them, I'd start carrying water too.

Good luck and keep up the great work that you are doing. You are like that Energizer Bunny, you keep going and going, just like ME

.after drinking too much coffee, LOL

That was me for the first half of the day. It could have started with being woken up by barking dogs (yeah, my own!) earlier than I wanted. Could be that my DH was stressing about $$$ this week and was stressing the need to spend as little as possible at the grocery store. It could be the kids were fighting. All of those things happened, but I don't think any of them made me cranky. I think I was just cranky because I haven't had the time to sit and read and just relax. There's always something to do. Laundry, make dinner, go to work. You know, time-wasting garbage!! emoticon

This afternoon, I was able to read for a couple of hours. Then I went to the gym and got to read some more. The combination got me in a MUCH better mood. Still not ready to go back to work tho!

With a Subject line like that, I thought sure you were talking to ME. LOL

Glad you had such a great day, or what turned out to be a great day. Sorry that I was peekin' in your windows to get your dogs to bark at me. LMAO

Have a super great week
