One more bruise for the collection

Tonight was our third practice. The guy I warmed up with can throw the ball HARD!! Apparently, I caught one of his throws right upper pads on my hand. Nice, pretty bruise now. I'm icing it when I'm not typing! emoticon My plan is to tell DH that I can't cook dinner tomorrow because my hand is too bruised. I need to ice it so that I am ready for softball!! LOL!!

We practiced hitting and I did pretty good. I found that if I wait just a beat longer, the ball won't ALWAYS go to short stop. Also, if I step up just a little in the box, I can hit it to right field (okay, in right field's direction) sometimes. When we weren't hitting, we rotated the different positions. I actually caught a fly ball to left field! Yippee!!! We won't mention all of the ones I missed. emoticon

Time to ice the hand and relax the bod so I can get ready for bed.


Extreme calorie reduction

So, I'm watching an episode of Oprah where they are talking about folks who drastically cut their calories in order to live longer. Listening to what they are eating and how much, I don't think it's so much calorie reduction, but more of a nutrient increase. One guy eats the peels from three apples every morning, but not the rest. His lunch is this HUGE salad with no dressing or fattening sides/toppings. And his calories goal is about 1950 per day. That seems like a lot of calories to me, especially when you don't have anything tasty! LOL!! I don't think I want to live that long if there is nothing good to eat. emoticon


Spent the day at the water park

The kids each earned a free pass to the local water park. The catch is that they are only free passes through June 30th. After that, they become buy one, get one and they're not good on Saturdays. So...we used them today. Hottest day of the year so far and a GREAT excuse to take the day off work!

We got to the park about 10:20 (they open at 11:00) and immediately went to one of the newer rides. I am not ashamed to say that I screamed like a girl the whole way down!! emoticon It was scary!!! But, I would do it again. Went to the ride right next to it and didn't scream at all.

After that, I sat and read while the kids played. We took our lunch and at about 1:00, went to the truck to eat. Sandwiches, grapes, carrots, strawberries. Yummy! After we went back in, we hit the wave pool and the endless river and then I read some more. I finished one book, started another. The kids hit a couple more rides without me and we finally left a little after 5:00. Kids are going to be early tonight! And I hope to follow them shortly after. one got sunburned! We reapplied sunscreen multiple times and drank lots of water to avoid dehydration. Overall, I'd say it was a very good day. Now I have to go to work tomorrow. emoticon Probably a good thing. I need the rest! LOL!!

DH took a nap and turned the air conditioning waaayyyyy down. So, I spent the time outside! emoticon I read my book, drank a mojito and almost fell asleep. As soon as I finish making tomorrow's dinner, I'm heading back out there. I shouldn't be cold in the summer!!! emoticon

    My DH and I are constantly struggling over the a/c when it's hot! He hates the heat and will blast it till it's like a icebox in here - I love summer and want to soak up the warmth while we've got it!

200 Squats Challenge...

Done! I did 70 squats on my initial test, so I decided to start at week three. I did the first two days and then got off track. So, today I decided to see how many I could do. I got to 70 and thought Okay, I can keep going. At 125, I was feeling it, but not dying. At 150 I HAD to finish. My legs were a little rubbery at the end, but I did it!! Yippee!!! We'll see how loudly my legs yell at me tomorrow. emoticon

Before that, I did week 3, day 3 of the Hundred Pushup Challenge. I should have done it a week and a half ago and either forgot or didn't feel like it. Guess what?!? Pushups are hard! I got them all done, but with lots of rests in between. I need to be a little more consistent. Monday will be day 1, week 4. After I finish this, I will start the 200 sit up challenge. Maybe I'll actually finish that one in the six weeks!
