What more could I ask for?

Started the day with 35 minutes on the elliptical. Came home, ate and started laundry. Then it was off to the softball fields to watch my daughter play and work concessions. Quick trip to the library, and then home again to get some more laundry done.

About 4:00, headed to a friend's house for his graduation party. Sat outside, talking, drinking (water in my case), eating and basically enjoying the beautiful weather. Back home, sparking people and then off to read (and do laundry). So, other than laundry, it was a GREAT day!

Hope everyone else had beautiful weather and the chance to enjoy it!

It didn't happen!

I blogged yesterday that I was going to be paying today for my run yesterday. I was sure that my quads would be SCREAMING at me for the minute I stood up. But...they don't hurt! At all! I can hardly believe it! I did a workout on the elliptical this morning (no pain), walked to and from my son's school twice (no pain) AND rode bikes with my son to go get some army men (very important, you know). All of that and NO PAIN!! I must be getting in better shape than I thought! Hee hee! I'm no JM fitness model, but I can walk! Bonus!!!

By the way, today was bread making day. The kids all loved it. They got to do the mixing in a plastic bag so there was minimal mess there. Then, they kneaded the dough and shaped into a loaf. Then, the loaves were put in a proofing oven to raise and then bake. Then, each kid got to bring their own loaf home. Them kids can bake! It was tasty bread. My son was a little bummed that he couldn't eat his own bread, but was pretty excited that both Mom and Dad liked it.

Time to go chill, read a book and sort of watch the movie my men have on.

Have a sparky good evening! emoticon

I'll be paying tomorrow...

but it was soooo worth it! Today is the first day in a series of warm days. It will be close to 90 on Monday. Woo Hoo! I was planning to do the JM NMTZ DVD, but decided to go for a run outside instead. Planned on going two miles and ended up doing three. Took about 35-ish minutes to run/jog three miles. I'm pretty okay with that time! It was so nice outside. I plan to spend some time outside every day this weekend to enjoy the warmer weather (SO tired of being cold!).

So, how am I going to pay? My quads are going to be SCREAMING at me tomorrow. I'm talking screaming like a colicky baby who's also teething. I stretched a lot, but I can already feel them tightening up. I'm going to go to the gym and do a workout on the elliptical. Hopefully a little bit of active recovery will help stave off the pain. emoticon

But, you know what? I'd do it again! emoticon

So here's LUCK! LUCK! LUCK! And I hate to say this but I don't think there's any hope for your sanity, so I'm not sure what the luck is gonna' do for ya'! LOL!!! And if I was with ya' I'd be LOL!!! Oh shucks! just kiddin'!
Really!! I know what you mean and I know it's been a hard week for ya'! But I really am proud of you for resisting those donuts, I don't know if I could have! And by the way, thank you for stopping by and checking on me, you're a good friend and I do treasure our friendship! You've been with me from the start of this and you still put up with me! That's pretty courageous!! Anyway, I'll pray you through tomorrow so you can enjoy Friday with your son! Take care and God Bless. Donna

The weirdest thing happened on the way to get gasoline...

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

I knew that I had some calories to "burn" in today's eating plan. I decided that if I didn't eat the orange and cheese stick snack, I could have something else a little less nutritious. I walked into the convenience store and started looking for just the right thing.

And I walked out with....nothing. I picked up a couple of things, checked the nutrition label and decided it wasn't worth it. The one thing I thought might be worth it (cake donuts), I stopped and thought about how I would eat it. Not how I should, but how I knew I would. Picture shoveling an entire donut in at one time, chewing enough to swallow, but not really taste. That would be me on ALL six donuts. Didn't sound appealing! So, I walked out with a receipt for my gas!!

I still have a couple hundred calories to meet my plan for today and I'm not sure if I'll meet them. Weird!
