Two more days...

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

until the Walk To Wellness starts. I need to make a distribution list of all the members on my team so I can send updates, encouragement, etc. I want to keep everyone interested and involved, but not be obnoxious! emoticon It's a fine line to walk, but I am willing to try!

Working in exercise around life

Monday, April 27, 2009

So, with softball in full swing and my son wanting attention and all of the rest of normal life, it is getting harder to get all my exercise in. I finally realized that I can change my exercise goals every week (duh!) to match what I will actually have time to do. THEN, my calories are adjusted as well. emoticon

I know, silly me. But realizing that, and making the changes, has taken a huge burden off of me. I know I won't have time to work out two days this week so I increased my time the rest of the week by 10 minutes. Easy schmeezy!! And I don't feel like I need to try to get up at o-dark-thirty to work out. That just doesn't happen for me...

Time to pack my lunch and then relax before bed.

Feeling better

Sunday, April 26, 2009

So...I let my family know how irritated I was with their non-assistance last night. I even let my husband know that he needs to start participating in our recycling that we ARE doing as a family. I guilted him into it by telling him I needed his support. The final guilt trip I threw at him was feeling unappreciated.

My family did better after that. I got to take a nap and laundry is done (for today, at least). Before my nap, I did my JM DVD and an elliptical workout as well. I even got to catch up on reading the comics (ran out of time on Thursday and caught up today) and read my book.

Time to go play catch with my son.

did guilt work? I usually try not to use it. I know how frustrating it is when helpers do not wish to help.

Mostly good day

Sunday, April 26, 2009

Busy, but good. Got up early and put in an hour at the gym. Bunco night and I needed to get some extra exercise in! Came home, started laundry, cooked my brocolli and started the candy I take to every Bunco.

Went to the concessions stand for softball (didn't eat anything there!) for a couple hours and came back home. Lunch, laundry, grocery list and coupons for grocery shopping. Off to the library (Book sale!!!) and then a whole bunch of stores and back home. Unload and put away groceries, finish the candy, work on the laundry and cook dinner (okay, I started dinner and my daughter finished it).

Boxed up the candy and left for Bunco. Asked the familty at LEAST five times to keep the dryer going. The kids had to make their beds too, but other than that, just keep the dryer going. When I got home, the dryer was going. had the same clothes in it as were in when I left THREE HOURS AGO!!! emoticon

We really need to get our dryer line cleaned and until we do, it takes forever to dry clothes. But, not this long. IF the dryer had been running, those clothes would be dry. It is SO frustrating to ask so little and get even less. DH said I should have called to remind them (in the middle of my one night of fun). Fine, you call me to remind me to make dinner every night. Grrrr..... emoticon

Suffice it to say that the family knows that I am irritated with every siingle one of them. I will now be up late to make sure we don't get moldy clothes. So, pretty good day that got shot when I came home. Now I'm cranky and frustrated and need to work off some of the excess energy. So, I'll put the legs on our new couch, pound on the keys really hard (LOL) and then go relax with a book. I hope Saturday Night Live is a new one!!

Bummer! And if I were you, I'd take today off and enjoy myself - find something you'd like to do and let them fend for themselves all day! Just my way of thinking, but then I'm a single Mom and when Marshall (who you know is now 22) treats me that way, he finds out real fast just how much I do for him because I quit doing it. Only takes him a half a day to get it! But I make him suffer longer than that! Aren't I terrible. Anyway, grab your book, put that bikini on and go find a sandy spot and lay out in the sun and listen to some music and have a nice cool drink and just be self-centered! Hope you have a great day!     Oh, no! Kids can be SO lazy. But I'm glad you had fun at Bunco :-)

Walk to Welness

Friday, April 24, 2009

My company has started a Walk to Wellness program. From April 30th through May 27th, each person is challenged to walk a certain number of minutes or steps. The choices are 200 or 400 minutes and 20,000 or 40,000 minutes. Choose one of the four.

I decided that I would join and there was an option to start a team. So I did. I sent the information to all of the women I work with (only about 12 of us). I'm totally stoked that there are 7 people on my team!!! So many of the ladies I talked to said that they really need to do something and my invitation was the push they needed. Yippee!!! I'm ready to start walking and am a little bummed we have to wait until next week we can start tracking.
