Another game

Monday, April 20, 2009

Daughter had a game tonight. We played a team from a nearby town and our girls did okay. They really started playing in the third inning. If they would start playing at the beginning, the games would be so much closer. Oh well.

Daughter got two hits, both right back at the pitcher. She kind of stood there and looked dazed for a second after each hit!! emoticon If she would have run right away, she would have been least on the first hit. Oh well. At least she ran through first base instead of stopping at it. Small improvements!!

Another game on Friday. I really hope they come together and play like I know they can!

Can you say gorgeous?

Not, not me, although I'm sure that's the first thing you thought of (LOL!!!). emoticon Okay, I'm talking about the weather. It got to around 75 today with a light breeze and bright sunshine. LOVED IT!!! My daughter and I went outside and played catch. Then I sat in the sunshine reading my book. I've actually been warm ALL DAY!!! That is a rare treat for me.

The next three days are supposed to be close to 80. I am SO sitting outside at lunch and soaking up the warmth. Yippee!!

First, let me say that I know I'm a nerd. Enginerd is a good descriptive word for me! emoticon And I'm really okay with it. In fact, I like it. Why do I bring this up? Because I was looking at my weight chart today. Not the one that Spark People keep for you, but the one I keep.

I weigh myself every morning. I then put the weight in an Excel chart and graph both the weight and the change in weight each day. (Told you I was a nerd!). Looking at the chart for the last six months (six October!) I have been hovering between 132 and 136 pounds. I think my body is telling me that it is comfortable right here. So, I changed my "goal" from weight loss to weight management. I chose 132.8 as my "goal" weight and will stay with 2 - 3 pounds of that weight.

So, starting a new part of my journey. A little scary. My calorie range jumped to almost 1700 for the minimum!! That seems like a lot! I'm worried that I will just eat whatever to make up that difference until I get used to the new range. Looking forward to this new leg of my journey...I think. emoticon

Opening night a success!!

Friday, April 17, 2009

Whew! What a busy night! Got to the fields early to set things up and didn't stop! We sold over $100 in raffle tickets and hope to sell more tomorrow. Concession stand was busy and I could watch my daughter hit for the Hit-A-Thon from the concessions. She did AWESOME!!! She hit the ball 197 feet, only 3 feet shy of the fence!! I believe she hit it the furthest of any one! That's my girl!! emoticon

Tomorrow will be an early day with the gym and then off to the fields. Should be done by 2:00 or 3:00, somewhere in there. Then I'll get to come home and finish laundry!! Yippee! LOL! emoticon

Hey, I'll get serious now. Isn't it wonderful to watch your daughter be a success! And you know what? She's been watching you as you have changed your lifestyle and set a good example for her. Which just goes to show you that it's never too late! I know you're very proud of her and I'm sure she's proud of you too! God Bless and enjoy your day! Donna

New furniture!! Ya hoo...

Friday, April 17, 2009

Or, as Zircadia says, WOOT! LOL!

When I first started my job, almost 16 years ago, wee were getting very nice bonuses. About 15 years ago, I was able to pay cash for a couch, love seat, chair and coffee table set. The kids destroyed the coffee table YEARS ago. However, until today, I have had the couch, love seat and chair ever since. The old set was green. A really pretty (in my world anyway) forest green. The material wasn't quite leather, but it wasn't plastic either. I don't know if it is pleather, but it held up pretty well. Especially considering that my dog has been trying to lick his way to the stuffing for the last four years!!

Here's a pick of the love seat (keeping it for now)

I use the love seat more than the rest of the family and it is in the best shape (coincidence?), so we are keeping it for now. However, a couple of weeks ago, we went to a local furniture store and bought a new couch and a new chair. They are a cocoa brown and they look really good in my living room. DH and I went to pick them up today after work. Good thing I've been working out! Those things are heavy! Jiminy Crickets!! There are no calorie counting activities in Spark People for moving furniture, but I'm sure I burned at least 1000 calories moving out the old and moving in the new!!

Here are pics of the new! Chair -

WOW! Really nice - I'm happy for you! By the way thanks for all of the encouragement - it's very nice of you to leave notes for me and it let's me know that there are people out there who really do care! Especially when right now I have to concentrate on health and not weight, which isn't what this is all suppose to be about. But it's people like you that keep me hanging on and hoping that I too can achieve my goal some day! So thanks for being such a special friend. Hey, now that you and your DH have that new couch moved in surely you realize you really are in good enough shape to wear that bikini?! Okay, okay, I'll shut up now! You can tell me to go away! But hey I have to have some fun some where! LOL!!! cause I am! emoticon
