Looking good...

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

My daughter's softball team is looking pretty good. They had a rough start to their game tonight, but pulled it together. They ended up winning 15 - 9. My daughter played fairly well. She made it to base twice and got thrown out at first once and got out with a pop fly once. At least she was swinging! And hitting!

It got really cold just sitting there watching, but I'm really glad I could stay and watch the whole game. I really like softball! emoticon

Epiphany

Tuesday, April 14, 2009

Watching Biggest Loser tonight, I had an epiphany. Tonight was the makeover show where they get to see themselves in their new bodies with new clothes, hair and makeup (for the girls, anyway). Tim Gunn (Project Runway) was there to help with the clothes selection. He said that they needed to "see" themselves as they really are rather than as they were.

I'm actually at that point. I looked at myself in the mirror (wearing only bra and undies) and thought, I could let someone see me like this (thinking bikini, not underoos!LOL!!)! My legs are still bigger than I want them to be, but they always will be. The rest of me is pretty awesome!! What a great feeling! emoticon emoticon emoticon

Now you know why I sent the bikini!!! one pound - two pounds - you were already there! Just keep up the exercising and maintain and that dh of yours will have his chest all puffed out when he sits next to you on the shore of any beach, lake or whatever!!! Give yourself some credit - you've been working hard! Want me to send you another bikini now that you're ready to wear it?! Congrats on your epiphany!

Softball

Working on getting opening ceremonies organized. We'll have the Boy Scouts present the flag (color guard) for the National Anthem. We're having a ceremonial 1st pitch. Raffles, introductions, concessions and a Hit-A-Thon. I think I'm looking forward to it more than my daughter is!

Time to go get "home" work done now. Pack my lunch, prepare for tomorrow, etc. Another long week is looming.

I did it!!

In-laws took us to Red Robin last night. I had decided to have the turkey burger and dinner salad. I ordered GF fries for MIL and my son and regular fries for my daughter. DH and FIL had the tower of onion rings. I even split three of the onion rings between my kids (she gets the breading and he gets the onion). I ended up having three fries and what I had planned to order!!! Yay for me!!! The nice thing is, I didn't feel like I ate too much. And even better, it all tasted really good! I can do that again.

Of course, Easter brunch was another story. We went to a buffet and I accepted the challenge!! LOL! Okay, they are not supposed to be challenges, but I always treat them that way. Went back a couple of times and made very unhealthy choices. Didn't have lunch (cos it was brunch!!) and had a fairly healthy supper. I did go to the gym and worked a little bit of it off. Then, because it was such a gorgeous day, I used the weed whacker to cut down grass around the fence line and then clean out some of the weeds in my flower beds.

Back on track now. Tomorrow will be easy schmeesy, right? emoticon

Love your honesty! You hang in there, girl, 'cause you're gonna' make it after all! You've got your own number and you hold yourself accountable - I admire that! Thank you for the Easter goodie by the way. Hope you had a blessed Easter - sounds like you did! It was beautiful here and I would have loved to have gotten out, but no strength yet, so I must be patient. Hope you have a good week! Catch ya later!

Whew!

Saturday, April 11, 2009

Long busy day. I decided to get up at 5:30 this morning, get in a nice long workout (to make up for missing a couple earlier this week) before I started my day. I got up and really did not feel the gym thing. So I decided to go back to bed and exercise in the afternoon. When I got back to the bed, my DH had sprawled over the whole thing! I didn't have the heart to wake him, so I went to the gym after all. I did tell him thank you!

Next up was laundry. Got that started and then took daughter to softball practice and worked concessions from 9:30 - 1:00. Came home for lunch and then took off for grocery shopping (after doing more laundry). Three stores later, finally made it home. Put everything away, cooked some brocolli and am FINALLY relaxing until DH calls me. MIL and FIL are set up at our local flea market. Today is the last day, so they are packing everything. As soon as they're packed, we're all meeting at Red Robin for dinner. I'm having the turkey burger and a dinner salad.

Great news tho! There is an adult softball league in my hometown. It is only $25 to play and I am going to play!!!! Yippee!! I have wanted to go play on my daughter's team. I'm small enough I would blend...until they noticed the wrinkles! emoticon Games don't start until July, but I'm sure practices will be sooner. I can hardly wait!!!
