Yesterday I reported that I had to reschedule my hair appointment. This morning, I'm outside showing my kids some work they needed to do and I noticed that I have a flat tire on my truck. Bummer! I don't have anywhere I need to go now, so the flat tire can wait to be fixed (which is good. I have tons of other stuff to do today!).
I did go to the library which is just over a mile from my house. Walked there and back since my daughter needed my bike to get to softball practice. It started to sprinkle a little when I was almost back home. Nice timing!
Now it's time to make my candy for Bunco tonight, vacuum, do the Jillian Michaels video, shower and then, hopefully, relax a little before my guests arrive.
ttyl!

On Saturday, I will finally get my hair cut and colored. It's been about eight months. Other things kept coming up that I thought I should spend the money on. Well, now I have the money. It is for me and I will use it for me! Yay!
I thought it would be cool to have before and after photos of my hair to show all of my Spark friends. I took some pictures last night. I had taken my shower, so my hair was flat and I had no make up on. Apparently, I am an old woman. Or some old lady jumped in front of the camera I was holding when I took the pictured. I deleted those! I took some pictures this morning with freshly done hair and makeup. Can't get much better than that, right? WRONG!! That OLD lady gussied up a little and jumped in front of me again!!! LOL! Okay, so I'm the old lady or vain or both.
Soooo, tomorrow morning, I'm going to have my daughter take the picture and maybe get more of my hair in the picture and less of that pushy lady! If I can get a picture that doesn't make me wince, I'll post it. I'm hoping the after picture is a lot easier to get!
Nite ladies. It's been a long day and I have to work tomorrow. See you on the flip side!

At work, I was taking part in a mentoring program. I was working with 8th grade girls who are interested in technical careers. Today, they all came out to my work site and we had activities. We got to build a dance pad that when you stepped on it, it lit up and buzzed. That was fun! We also took a tour of my work. It's amazing the stuff they think is cool that we just take for granted.
After the tour, we went back to the conference room for lunch and more activities. We built an egg transportation box out of straws, marshmallows and masking tape. Our egg could be dropped from shoulder height (about 4 feet) and not break. We were pretty excited by that! The last activity was drawing on t-shirts with Sharpies and then dropping rubbing alcohol on the Sharpie. The colors spread into some very cool colors.
It was a lot of fun and I think the girls enjoyed it too. I hope I'm asked to take part in the program again next year.
