Day two (second attempt) of no Diet Pepsi. At lunch, I was heating my chili and the microwaves are right next to the soda machines. I looked at the bottles of DP and was tempted. Then, I remembered that my stomach hurt after drinking a DP on Monday. That was enough to not buy one!! Yay for me!!
Day 2, week 3 of the hundred pushup challenge. I'm actually pretty surprised about how much support I am getting from the guys I work with. Please note, I am an engineer. That means there are only about 15 women in my entire area at work and most of them are admin types. I guess I'm trying to say that I work with a lot of guys!! One of my fellow engineers told me that if I tense my entire body and engage as many muscles as possible, I will be able to do more pushups. I tried it tonight and it worked!! Monday's workout almost killed me, but I made it through tonight's much easier. Don't get me wrong, it still kicked my butt, but not as hard and not for as long!
The nutrition tracker showed good things today too. I was within my range on almost all my nutrients. The most surprising one, though, was sodium. I'm ALWAYS over, often by double. Today, I was IN!! Amazing! I am trying to reduce sodium, but was still surprised by today. We'll see how tomorrow goes!

So, I made it four days with no DP and then drank a liter on Sunday. I went all day Monday and until after work today. Then I decided I needed one with my cookies (hmmm, connection??). My stomach hurt after I drank that darn Diet Pepsi! Who'da thunk it?!? Now, all I have to do is remember that DP=Pain!
My daughter's softball meeting was tonight. I found out at 3:00 that I was on the agenda, so I had to hurry up and put together some information about opening day ceremonies and activities. I decided that I really shouldn't stand up to talk to people after going to the gym without taking a shower first. And, since there was no time for a shower, I decided I needed to skip the gym. I'm okay with it, since it's one day, not a habit. I'll be back tomorrow and just do a few extra minutes to help make up for missing a night.
I did my progress test for the hundred pushups challenge. My goal was to stay in column 3 for weeks 3 and 4. I missed it by one pushup! But, after doing day 1 week 3's workout, I'm okay with being in column 2! OUCH!!! Aren't these things supposed to be getting easier?
Oh, good news, maybe! One of the guys I work with plays on a city co-ed softball league and they might be short on players. He's going to check the roster and let me know if they can use me. Fingers crossed! I'm not a great player, but I show up and I don't completely suck, so I think of myself as an asset for any team!! We'll see if they agree after they see me play. tee hee

Started week 3 of the hundred pushup challenge. Dang! It's still hard!!! Back on track on my food intake. Planning to do as well tomorrow. Need to go pack my lunch (and breakfast!).
My legs are still sore from my 5k trial on Friday. I am getting old! Then, to top it off, my ellipticals (I know they aren't mine, but I pretend they are ) were being used. I ended up doing 30 minutes on the stair climber. Just what my quads needed...more torture!
Tomorrow night is the parent's meeting for softball, right smack dab in the middle of my favorite show (Biggest Loser)! It is the only show that I insist my family let me watch. So, I'll be running home, hurriedly changing into work out clothes, working out, making dinner for the family (grilled chicken salad) and running to the mtg with daughter. THEN, running home to catch the end of the show. Already exhausted just thinking about it! tee hee

My son had is birthday party yesterday. Six boys (five extra) came over for an army man party. The party itself went really well. It was the preparation before and the clean up after that wiped me out. Then DH brought home a margarita mix. He made me a drink, with extra tequila, twice. I'm not a drinker. The combination of me being exhausted and the alcohol made me loopy. I was in bed and asleep by 8:00. No idea when the kids went to bed, if they even did!! LOL! I didn't get up until 9:00 (10:00 with DLS time)! My body was sore from all of the sleeping! I LOVED it!!
I made it through Day 3 with no Diet Pepsi. REALLY wanted one first thing in the morning, but held out. Sunday mornings, DH makes breakfast and we usually have a liter of DP with breakfast. I had him buy me one, but I only drank a third of it. I've had about 2/3 of it by now. Still a lot less than I would have had. The cool thing is that I figured out that I can have lunch at work without the liter of DP. So, my plan is to finishe the DP I have and go back to drinking other things more. I've even already had six glasses of water and am working on 7 and 8!
I mentioned that on Friday I ran a 5k to see if I could and if so, how long it would take. Man, am I paying for that now!! My quads are P.O'd at me!!! Active recovery, right? Oh, and I need to do my progress test today for the pushups. I'll let y'all know how I did!

Day 2 - No diet pepsi. Still no headaches and no real cravings. Weekends are harder all the way around, so we'll see how I do tomorrow.
Week 2, Day 3 - Pushups. Man! Those pushups are hard! And they keep expecting me to do more than I did in week 1! Some people...jeez! My progress test will be tomorrow. My goal is to stay in the same column as I am now. That's a lot of pushups!!
One of the trainers at my gym mentioned a 5k that just happens to be next weekend. I started thinking that maybe I should sign up. Then I wondered if I could run a 5k, no stopping. In my head I can, but in my head I could also do 24 pushups two weeks ago. (My head was WRONG!!!) Tonight, I decided to do a running workout instead of elliptical. The plan was to run for a full 30 minutes or 3.1 miles, whichever came first. At 30 minutes, I had around three quarters to half a mile to go, so I kept going. Ended up doing the 3.1 in 33.5 minutes. Not as good as I wanted, but at least I did it!
Son's birthday party is tomorrow, so I'd better go bake the cake. With him having celiac, the days of buying a cake at the bakery are long gone. *sigh* Oh well, this chocolate cake tastes just like chocolate cake! YUM!
