Not too bad today

Saturday, March 14, 2009

My back is still hurting, but I was able to work out (no upper body stuff, tho!). After the gym, I made menus for the next two weeks, wrote the grocery list, gathered coupons, library books and items to return and headed out. (Laundry was getting done too!)

I was out of the house from 11:30 until 3:30 getting all my tasks done. The nice thing is I don't have to go back out tomorrow! I took an apple and a bottle of water with me so I could have a healthy snack. At Wal-Mart, I bought another water since mine was empty. So close to buying DP, but opted out of it. (Pat on the back for me!) Finished up my shopping and determined that I had room in my calorie budget to have a snack to help tide (is that the correct spelling?) me over until supper. Stopped at the nearest service station and wandered the aisles. I know, I know, not the best idea. But, it was better than stopping that the McDonald's right by the grocery store! I ended up buying pretzels and two liters of DP (they were on sale). I ate ~one serving of pretzels and gave the rest to my daughter. And, I've only drunk about 1/3 of the DP. Switched to tea at home. Yay for me!!!

Hoping the back chills long enough for me to get the next workout on HPC (hundred pushup challenge). I really want to meet this goal!

So much to cover...

Friday, March 13, 2009

and so little time. emoticon

So, I had a can of DP today. It was at the end of the day and b4 I went to the gym. Speaking of the gym, I changed into workout clothes when I got home from work, because that is what I do. I was seriously considering skipping it because I am really tired. But, my family talked about how much more tired I would be when I got back from the gym and just took it for granted that I was going. I thought "Wow! This is awesome! I have trained them to expect me to be gone. How wonderful is that?" So, of course, I went! Yay! Good thing too, cos today has been an eating day. Cookies, a fried burger and tots, candy. Lots of food. It's okay. One day every once in awhile won't kill me. Back on track tomorrow.

Didn't do my pushups today. I did something to that muscle right below my shoulder blade on the right side. You know the one. It's the one you use when you cough, sneeze or (oh yeah) BREATHE! It's getting better, so I'll try my day 3 week 3 tomorrow. Wish me luck!

I am an uber-organizer. Because of that, I was writing down all of my to-do's for tomorrow. Looks like they will run into Sunday! After I get all of the to-do's written down, I will put them in order and plan my route! The cool thing is that one of the to-do's is Jillian Michael's No More Trouble Zones (assuming I can breathe! LOL!) I'm very excited to start the DVD! Expect a report tomorrow.

It's getting late. Need to go finish watching WNTW and then head to bed.

See you on the flip side!

Cold, so very cold....

Thursday, March 12, 2009

and so tired of being COLD!! Okay, so tonight I'm really cold because I worked concessions at the high school softball and baseball games. We were set up outside and in the shade. My toes tingled when I took my shower!!

I pulled something in my back. Just one side, right below the shoulder. If I keep moving, I'm fine. But as soon as I stop and then start back up, OUCH!! Hopefully a full night's sleep will "cure" it.

Brought home a bunch of CD's to download to my PC. Then I can pick and choose songs to add to my I-Pod. Still only have 18 songs and that really isn't enough!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday! Love the weekends!!

Staying on track

Thursday, March 12, 2009

Day two (second attempt) of no Diet Pepsi. At lunch, I was heating my chili and the microwaves are right next to the soda machines. I looked at the bottles of DP and was tempted. Then, I remembered that my stomach hurt after drinking a DP on Monday. That was enough to not buy one!! Yay for me!! emoticon

Day 2, week 3 of the hundred pushup challenge. I'm actually pretty surprised about how much support I am getting from the guys I work with. Please note, I am an engineer. That means there are only about 15 women in my entire area at work and most of them are admin types. I guess I'm trying to say that I work with a lot of guys!! One of my fellow engineers told me that if I tense my entire body and engage as many muscles as possible, I will be able to do more pushups. I tried it tonight and it worked!! Monday's workout almost killed me, but I made it through tonight's much easier. Don't get me wrong, it still kicked my butt, but not as hard and not for as long! emoticon

The nutrition tracker showed good things today too. I was within my range on almost all my nutrients. The most surprising one, though, was sodium. I'm ALWAYS over, often by double. Today, I was IN!! Amazing! I am trying to reduce sodium, but was still surprised by today. We'll see how tomorrow goes!

No DP, No exercise, Pushups

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

So, I made it four days with no DP and then drank a liter on Sunday. I went all day Monday and until after work today. Then I decided I needed one with my cookies (hmmm, connection??). My stomach hurt after I drank that darn Diet Pepsi! Who'da thunk it?!? Now, all I have to do is remember that DP=Pain!

My daughter's softball meeting was tonight. I found out at 3:00 that I was on the agenda, so I had to hurry up and put together some information about opening day ceremonies and activities. I decided that I really shouldn't stand up to talk to people after going to the gym without taking a shower first. And, since there was no time for a shower, I decided I needed to skip the gym. I'm okay with it, since it's one day, not a habit. I'll be back tomorrow and just do a few extra minutes to help make up for missing a night.

I did my progress test for the hundred pushups challenge. My goal was to stay in column 3 for weeks 3 and 4. I missed it by one pushup! But, after doing day 1 week 3's workout, I'm okay with being in column 2! OUCH!!! Aren't these things supposed to be getting easier?

Oh, good news, maybe! One of the guys I work with plays on a city co-ed softball league and they might be short on players. He's going to check the roster and let me know if they can use me. Fingers crossed! I'm not a great player, but I show up and I don't completely suck, so I think of myself as an asset for any team!! emoticon We'll see if they agree after they see me play. tee hee emoticon

That's great that you might get a chance to play softball! Don't stress about about winning, it's more important to have fun, and it's great exercise!
