Week 2, Day 1 of the 100 push up challenge. First two sets were 14 pushups each! After my first set of 14, I realized that one short week ago, I was struggling to get 14 pushups (my initial test was 18). And here I was doing SETS of 14 each!!! WOW!!
Of course, my arms are still rubber from the remaining sets. But that's okay, because they are starting to be chiseled rubber! Ya baby!!

I already went over on my calories two days this week (Sunday - Saturday), so I was planning to stay in today. Of course, breakfast was two pieces of pizza (640 calories) so my work was cut out for me. However, I kept busy with the library, laundry and grocery shopping (at four different stores!) and then reading. After supper, I still had 32 calories left. Woo Hoo!!! I even ran my nutrition report to help signal my brain and the world that I was done eating!
And then it happened. The sugar cookies my DH brought home started their siren call. I tried to ignore them. I even thought about having my kids tie me to the couch so I couldn't go to them! I caved. And then, I apparently thought I was still hungry, so I had a couple of servings of tortilla chips. Even now, my tummy is trying to trick my into eating. I should go to bed, but I have a load of laundry in the dryer (almost dry) and one in the washer. I will try reading and drinking water until the laundry is done. Then it's off to dreamland and dancing with sugar cookies.

Today was day 3 of week one toward my goal of 100 push ups. Dang! The first two days, I was able to do all of the pushups plus more than the minimum on the maximum set. Today, I got to #13, started to push back up (last one, I can do it!!!!). No, I couldn't. Collapse!! My arms are still rubbery!
I'm still determined to make it to the 100 push ups. I'll definitely know that I earned it!!

Well, I did it! I opened my big mouth and told all the guys at work that on April 4th, I would be able to do 100 push ups. THEN, I challenged them to try to match or beat me! AND I dragged my friend (who works there too) into the challenge. The date was pushed to April 10th, but "It is ON like Donkey Kong!!" Did I ever mention that I'm a bit competitive??
And what is it with guys. I mentioned to multiple people (mostly guys, cos that's who I work with) that I joined this challenge. All but one asked if it was for "girl" pushups. As though I couldn't possibly do a "real" pushup. JEEZ! And then, the guy I carpool with asked if I would be up to driving next week. He was concerned that I would be sore from the pushups. HELLO!!! I started this week, not next week. The soreness phase is OVER! Dork! I am so going to show every one of those macho so-and-so's that girls can do proper form push ups!!
And I did take the "before" photo. I have a double chin, you can't see any definition in my arms AND the shadows make it look like I haven't shaved my arm pits in months (if ever!). Not posting that where anyone can see it!!! Unless I'm really hot in the "after" shot.

Does anyone use the new graphs that are created after entering all of your food in the nutrition tracker? That is the neatest thing!! I'm a complete nerd and LOVE the graphs. The graphs help me see where I need to tweak my food intake to improve my health.
I even have an Excel sheet that I update every day with my weight. The graph shows my weight and the difference from the previous day's weight. (Yes, I'm addicted to the scale!) Having the graph, and daily wiegh-in's, helps me see any patterns. For example, I generally eat more on the weekends and the scale usually shows a 3 - 4 pound gain. I lose it by Thursday and then start over again on the weekend. Hmmmm, now why am I still three pounds from goal?
