My DH and I moved into this house during the summer between our DD's kindergarten and 1st grade years in school. She is now a Junior (or 11th grade). It's late, so you get to do the math! The house was about two years old when we moved in. And we moved in very well. Besides DD, we also have DS and two dogs. All together, we've been very hard on our kitchen floor.
Poor floor...notice the holes in the linoleum? That's what happens when you don't have wheels on the desk chair.
And the brown spot? No, not a fire. Apparently, bug spray, sunshine and linoleum do not mix well...unless you like brown spots on your floor.
Now, that area looks like this:
We weren't as hard on the space for the fridge, but I think that black mark is a permanent stain.
Can't see the stain now!
The area in front of the stove is just plain dirty, faded, and worn.
Not any more!!!

A few weeks ago, I changed my goals to show myself losing seven pounds by the end of the year. I figured that a slow-and-steady pace would take away the stress I was feeling and make it easier to stay in calorie range.
I was wrong.
Instead of making it easier to stay in calorie range, it got really easy to be over. Not a lot (usually), but over. And, sure enough, my weight followed. I saw my highest number on the scale this weekend. Granted, I had just eaten four pieces of Pizza Hut Meat Lovers Pizza...and was physically ill! But, the number was high and I didn't like it.
So...I readjusted again. I moved my goal up to losing seven pounds in three months. My exercise goals stayed the same so my calorie range shifted down quite a bit. But, that has been good for me. I've been more focused on getting my nutrients in within my limited calories. I have been able to fit a couple of treats, but I am not indulging everyday. I'm still taking my cheat day tomorrow, but it will be one day this week, not every day this week!
The good news is that the scale is down four pounds. I realize that most of that is bloat. I don't care!!!! It's gone! LOL! And, best of all, I am feeling it. I don't know for how long or how soon I will be tempted to over indulge. But for now, I'm feeling it and I'm liking it.
