And not a minute to think! Dang!
Work is busy and looking to get busier. My department works with subcons and the products I work with are being shipped to the subcons at an alarmingly fast rate! Although, not as fast as the powers-that-be would like! LOL! What this means for me is lots of late-night meetings (to talk to the subcons) and lots of early mornings (to get work done) and lots of meetings in between to keep everyone updated.
Then, when I get home, I have all of the normal home stuff, but I've also started a new project. My truck is 12 years old (same age as my son...in fact, we got them both in the same month of the same year!). My DD is 14 and thinks she should be allowed to learn how to drive. The combination of these two things tells me that it's time to start thinking about a new vehicle.
Unfortunately, new vehicles cost money and I really do NOT want to have huge car payments. We haven't had a car payment in almost seven years and I like it that way! The way to keep payments down (or eliminated altogether) is to have a nice down payment. Which leads to my new project. I've been selling stuff on eBay. DH brings home stuff that probably won't sell in his shop and has me list them. I pay him back what he paid for it and the profit goes to my new car fund. Nice, huh?
And so far, I've done well. The only bad thing is that I have to use what I've saved to fix the truck I have now. Major wheel alignment is needed and at least one new tire. Oh well...at least I can pay for it!
Two pieces of good news wrt to a new vehicle. We have a bill that is ~$400 per month that will be paid off in July. At least a portion of that could be applied to a new vehicle if needed. PLUS, DD will be allowed to take Driver's Ed if she has satisfactory grades AND no behavioral problems. And guess what? F's are not acceptable! And since that is what she has in Math, she's not going to be driving any time soon! Gives me that much more time to save up for a new car! LOL!
See...look hard enough and you can always find a silver lining!

A couple of weeks ago, I blogged about a menu item at one of our local restaurants. It was a Peanut Butter Burger. A hamburger patty with hickory smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, onion, mayo and, of course, peanut butter.
I was intrigued when I read that but immediately discarded it from my choices. But as the day went on, and the days turned into weeks, I kept thinking about the dang peanut butter burger!
So...DH and I headed to the Ram for dinner tonight and I ordered that darn burger! And I ate it!! The whole darn thing! And it was tasty! I'm glad I ate it. Now it no longer has it's hold on me!
The good news is that I don't have to eat it again. It was okay, but not habit forming. Now on to Super Bowl food!

Holy moly! This week is taking forever. And I'm not the only one who feels this way. All week, it has seemed like the week should be over, or almost over, and it hasn't been!
It is finally Friday Eve! And I still feel like the week should have ended long ago! Does anyone have a time machine? I'd like it to be tomorrow at this time....now!

For lunch today, I went with some co-workers to a restaurant called "The Ram." It is one of those restaurants that I don't go to with my family because DS can't eat anything there, DD won't eat anything there and DH isn't interested. Whatever.
As I was reading the menu, I saw that they had a burger called "The Peanut Butter Burger." Here is the description.
Peanute butter, cheddar, hickory smoked bacon, sliced tomato, lettuce and mayo 9.99
BTW...they spelled peanut with the extra "e" on their website. I just copied and pasted!
Okay, so I like peanut butter. I really like peanut butter. And I'm a fan of the cheddar and the bacon and the tomato and the lettuce. Not so much on the mayo. But...put it all together? I'm not sure about that! I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with monterey jack cheese, no sauce, and fries. (Fries were VERY salty so I only ate a few). I was satisfied and pleased and pretty darn proud of myself for ordering a fairly healthy meal.
But now I want to try that PB Burger! Dang it! It is on my mind and it is haunting my taste buds and it is luring me back to that restaurant. Gosh darn it!! Maybe I can order a sampler? Or make my own?
