No. I have nothing important to say. I just like to see that people have commented on my blogs! LOL! Okay, really, you need not read this nor comment. In fact, I recommend you stop reading now and go on to something else. The best has already been written! LOL! emoticon

We did have our yard sale today. At 4:30 this morning, DH asked if we could put it off until next weekend. emoticon Um...NO! I already made the changes in my plans to accommodate this yard sale. It is happening! I didn't say all of that. I just said no. We'll do it today. And we did.

We had only a few people until about 9:00. Then it was steady people (not all people were buying, but they were looking!) until 1:00. At 1:00, the people just stopped coming! So, we started packing. DH said I could get rid of certain things if they didn't sell. Well, two truck loads of stuff are either at the Youth Ranch or will be by tomorrow! We still have a large stash of furniture, but not as much as we started the day with. And, the best part? People actually paid money! Woo Hoo!! I won't be retiring on my $$ from today, but I did take DD and DS out to lunch and paid cash! LOL!

Now I need to go to sleep. Talk to you all tomorrow!

Why were you and your husband awake at 4 am?
I'm glad your yard sale went well. Isn't it nice to have cash in your hand? Of course, when I did my yard sales, I was still out of work from my surgery so the money was used for living expenses. Darn, I wish my son and I didn't like to eat!

I saw this from my friend feed so had to see. Glad you made $$. I'd love to have a yard sale but I live out in the boonies, down a back road that doesn't get much traffic.

I hate getting ready for garage sales, but I love having them. To me they are a social event...talking to people, etc. We had a neighborhood one back in a weekend in May and made over $600. We had a lot of stuff and we are trying to get rid of clutter. Most of the sales were small amounts of around $1 or so, but I guess it adds up. We finally got rid of the hamster stuff from when we had hamsters. We have had that at about 3 garage sales and no one buying it. You never know what is going to sell. Things you think someone will buy no one does and things you don't think will sell go fast. Go figure. emoticon

Anniversary, saleing, books

Saturday, June 19, 2010

Today is my second anniversary on Spark People! Yippee!! It doesn't seem like that long! I've made a lot of good friends here and learned a lot. Some of it I probably didn't want to learn, but I learned it anyway! LOL!

Tomorrow, DH and I will be setting up for our yard sale. The kids will help setup and then everyone will pretty much disappear...except me. I "get" to run the yard sale with "help" from the kids. DH goes to work. And, when I decide I'm done, I get to put everything away. Pretty exciting, huh?

I'm actually looking forward to the putting away part. I get to donate a large portion of stuff that doesn't sell to the Youth Ranch. AND, I get to put things back in the garage in a way that makes sense to me. Stuff I need will be within reach! I'll be clearing out quite a bit of stuff and I might be able to walk through the garage again...at least until my DH comes home from his day of yard "saleing"!

I'm up to 7.5 books this month! Okay, so one was only 100 pages and small. And three have been books with really short chapters, so there were a bunch of half pages. But, I must say, it's still 7.5 books!! Yay for me! emoticon

Time to update my spreadsheets and figure out what books I'm getting from the library to continue my obsession.

Night!

  Happy second anniversary.
I did yard sales last summer and got rid of a lot of stuff that I just kept moving but never used. After several weekends I just let people take what ever they wanted for free. My landlady took most of it. It sure felt great to have all that stuff gone.
Hey, it doesn't matter how long a book is as long as you read it. I've been getting more reading done lately and I like it.

20 years? Are you sure? Really?

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Today is my 20th wedding anniversary. All 20 have been happy and all 20 have been to the same guy. Okay, so we've had our moments, but not once have I wanted to not be married. Can you imagine? Who'd a thunk that when I got married at the age of six, that I'd still be married now...at 26! emoticon Yes, I am purposely not mentioning the teenage daughter and slightly younger son.

I bet you are all wondering what wonderful thing we did to celebrate this momentous occassion, aren't you? Promise me you won't be jealous!!

I went to work at my normal time as did DH. Yep! AND, I came home and cooked dinner. T-Bone steaks! Yum. But wait! That's not all! Of course not. This is our 20th, after all. The other thing we did to celebrate? DH went to bed around 8:00 and I headed to the gym! Try as you might, I bet you can't party any harder than we did! LOL!

And on that note, I have to get some sleep. Nite all!

So many little things, when piled up, can suffocate

Wednesday, June 16, 2010

Work has been extremely busy lately. I've started a spreadsheet to keep track of all of the different projects I'm working on, what their status is and who all I'm waiting for to complete the project. I found out today that I needed to add some columns to keep track of some documentation I wasn't even aware that I needed!

On top of that, there are all of these little things that just keep popping up that come to me to be fixed (why doesn't this match that? can we order this material in even though no one else in the whole world has even considered using it? I know you said it had to be exactly the same, but how exact is exactly?). By the end of the day I was so overwhelmed that I was wavering between crying my eyes out and upchucking the contents of my stomach.

Luckily, I did neither. I distracted myself on the way home with a book on CD. After I got home, I talked to DH a little bit about my stress. And, since he is the worrier, I had to explain to him why it wasn't as bad as I was making it. So, by reassuring him, I was able to calm myself down and formulate a plan. I feel much better about things, but will only feel comfortable after I've gotten things where I want them. In other words, at retirement! LOL!

On the better side of the evening, DD didn't so her dishes until late today. Why is that good news? Because the dishes I needed to make dinner were dirty, being cleaned in the dishwasher. DH decided that maybe we should have Chinese instead. Okay! No cooking for me AND I got to eat Chinese food! The other good thing is that I was able to get a few more auctions started tonight. Trying to sell some extra crap...I mean very special items to earn money for season passes to the local water park. Four visits would make them pay for themselves. Heck, I plan to do that in just the one week I'm taking off work! Not to mention all of my weekends!

And on a even better note. I did not eat to soothe my stress or because I "deserved" to. I ate because I was hungry and stopped at a reasonable amount. Within calorie range today! Woo Hoo!!

Night all. Time to rest up for an organization marathon!

Glad that your explaining things to your DH helped talk you down.

The only thing I could think of when I read the title to this blog is all those stories you hear about boarders who fill up their house because the can never throw things away, and end up dying because all their crap^h^h^h^hprecious stuff falls over on them. Glad to hear that you aren't one of those!

Have you ever looked at Microsoft Project? It sounds like a good choice for you to keep up with all of your different projects. Come on down to North Carolina for 2 days of classes and we can have lunch!

My thought on work being busy at this point is job security! Just don't forget to keep breathing and maybe you need to go back to your boss and tell him that you are now drowning?

I hope today goes better, wow Chinese sure sounds good!

It sounds as if you left all the work stresses behind when you left work, which is great! They all percolate to the surface when I'm trying to go to sleep, at which point they always seem MUCH worse than they really are.

What are you selling? I might want to buy it. You never know!

It's okay if you cry - I do it all the time - I always say I'm the biggest boohooer in the world! And I guess it's okay if you upchuck if it made you feel better - personally it wouldn't me and then I'd probably do it again when I had to clean it up! LOL! I've always said you're the busiest person I know and I don't know how you do it! So naturally there's gonna' be some stress...in your case probably a whole lot. But I've watched you handle that really well too! Everybody has their off days, so I'll share with you what works best for me (I posted this on secrets). I find something I can laugh about. And boy can I laugh! And it really is true that laughter is the best medicine for whatever ails you. (including being overwhelmed, stressed and over worked). But from the sounds of the end of your blog you really didn't need any of my advice because you handled it all quite well just as you always do. I admire you and you really are an inspiration to a lot of people. Question?...Are you gonna' where that bikini when you go to the water park? LOL! gotcha! Well, hang in there kiddo! And remember you're in my thoughts and in my prayers.

I had a dang good day!

Sunday, June 13, 2010

I got to sleep in for a total of a little over nine hours. DH made breakfast and then we went out and started working on the garage. We dragged everything out, priced stuff for our yard sale next weekend and then put it back in. Threw away a lot of stuff and swept up some garbage. The best part? DH agreed that an entire wall of boxes can go away! If the stuff in them doesn't sell this next weekend, I can take them away and donate them! Woo hoo!!!!!

After eating some lunch, I took DD and DS shoe shopping. They both needed new sandals for the summer. While we were out, I bought DS a new pair of shorts, DD a new tank top and me three new sports bras. These are the kind with spaghetti straps and I wasn't sure they would be effective (if you know what I mean!). I changed out of my torn up old sports bra when we got home and tried on a new one. Loved it! And I got all three for only $10!!! Sometimes being less endowed up on top has it's advantages! LOL!

Came home, trimmed the lawn (so DD could mow!), finished a book (and started another), went to the gym and then made dinner. While dinner was cooking, I also made potato soup and GF bread for the boy. And now, I'm ready for bed...and it's not even 11:00 yet! LOL!

Night all!
