It feels like progress is being made - Hallelujah! Am now into a routine and feeling more comfortable with both figuring out what to eat and, surprisingly, sticking to my daily workouts.

Have decided to treat myself next month (for my birthday) with a Chair Dancing DVD!

Hollow Victories, hmmm...

Monday, April 18, 2011

O.k., so I'm down 10 lbs from when I started SP on March 22nd, nearly a month ago. And, that was my goal for the first month - 10 lbs. Why am I not excited?

Because I've gained and lost 100s of pounds over my life time, so this is nothing new. What I know to be true, is that it can all be undone in an inkling.

What is different this time, is how much better I feel simply adding the right amount of water, a daily vitamin, more "freggies" (as my Buddy, Nora, calls them) and exercising 6 days a week. As a result, even if I never lost any more weight, I still feel better with this program.

Let's just say that I'm not jumping for joy, because I'm not convinced that I will continue to lose weight or be able to maintain it if I do. Even @ this caloric intake (1650 - 1750), I'm still getting hungry, so how on earth will I be able to ever drop to 1,200 calories?

I know it's easier said than done, but try to keep looking ahead, focussing on your goals and celebrating (yes, celebrating!) each achievement, each milestone, each tiny step. All progress is good progress, and you will be strengthening a foundation of confidence and continuing success. YES, YOU CAN! So don't look back at past failures, or berate yourself with 'could've... should've... would've...' One day at a time, onward!

I'm so extremely blessed to have the love & support of my fiance (BabyBear369) along this journey of creating a "healthier lifestyle." Despite his preference for my body staying exactly the way it is, he is willing to support my desire to improve my health. He's quite a guy!

Lucky me!!! emoticon

How the heck did THIS happen?!

Friday, April 15, 2011

Somewhere along this 3 week journey with SP, while I've been exercising nearly every day, I've discovered that I feel better and have decided to increase the amount of exercise that I am doing - WHAT?!

Wait a minute, who am I? I'm a confirmed hater of exercise. Hmmm...slowly, that seems to be changing.

I started out with the "Stronger Seniors" dvd's (we have a team on here for that), using Anne Burnell's 2 disc set - Stretch on M/W/F & Strength on T/H/Sat, then walking a mile on Sundays. Now I'm planning to add the mile walk before my "stretch" workouts 3x a week. WOWZA! emoticon

Wish me luck! I started today... ("Let the Games Begin!")

X-Country Trip...

Thursday, April 14, 2011

One of my goals is to fly across the U.S. to visit my son & his wife in October. Today's cardio/strength "Chair Workout" made me feel like I am one step closer, by making myself a little bit stronger. "Inch by inch, step by step..."
