As I never use any added salt, I'm kind of wondering if the recent increase in salt (thanks to a box of seasoned crackers & lemon/pepper, which also has sea salt in it, that have made their way into the house) are creating water retention & perhaps are thus the cause of my current weight plateau, hmmm...

    There's one way to find out...eliminate the salt once again and see what happens. Sometimes these things happen for a reason to teach us some valuable lesson. Good luck.

Cholesterol Check

I got some good news from the doctor today:
Cholesterol = 173 (this has always been good) 200 is normal
Tryclicerides = 118 (under 150 is good)
HDL = 40 (too low, should be 60+)
LDL = 109 (100-120 is o.k.)

Does anyone have suggestions on increasing the "good" HDL levels? (I can't have soy, cuz of my thyroid meds)

On Wednesday I go to get my Thyroid medication level checked.

Tomorrow, I need to make a trip to Trader Joe's for more fruits, veggies, roasted turkey breast & chocolate sorbet (that is the BOMB w/ fresh strawberry slices!).

I was up REALLY early this morning to catch a bus on my way to the lab for fasting bloodwork. Now I'm exhausted. Guess I'll try to catch a little nap & then exercise when I wake up.

Gotta say, I did a FABULOUS job of taking a healthy breakfast with me, so as not to fall into the pit of eating breakfast in town. Am not quite ready to face "on-the-go" food sans the net of knowing what I'm planning to have ahead of time.

Couldn't be more delighted to report that I am FINALLY down another pound - YIPPEE! emoticon

Last week was quite the adventure in experimenting with my calorie intake. Now I'm down to 1600 - 1640 & will plan to stick w/ that for a week to see what happens.

Onward... emoticon

New Goal

Instead of looking so far down the road to my ultimate goal, I've decided to make a midway goal of the first 50 lbs by October 1st. My idea being to be able to more comfortably sit in an airline seat (& not have to pay for an extra seat due to my weight), so that I can fly across the U.S. to visit my son & his wife.

This means a shift in my daily calorie intake down to under 1640. As I'm still hungry @ 1700-1775, I think I need to increase the amount of veggies I'm consuming. Will start experimenting today & hopefully, be ready to go into full swing tomorrow.
