Why I Have Lost All Respect for Dr. Oz

Tuesday, February 18, 2014

As I am trying to type this blog, up popped two pages of ads for Garcinia Cambogia. I am so sick of seeing those ads that don't even have an x for me to delete them. I have to go back to my ISP, bring up the page and get rid of it.
SPARK PEOPLE tells us there is no product out there to make us lose weight, yet Dr. Oz recommends this junk on our healthy website.
What is wrong with this picture???

i used to think he was real but after CBC market place (Canada) checked out his detox program and found it was useless, every respect went out of the window. Lucky for me I have never tried any thing he recommends. So eat a balanced diet and add in movement and the weight will get off. emoticon emoticon

I never did have much respect for him. Have you tried adding an ad blocker to your browser? I get very few ads, and have never seen the one you are referring to so it must be working!

Unfortunately, he is out to make money just like a lot of doctors today get the perks from the pharmaceutical companies.

Make sure that you look for the free ones. Some say that they are free but they are trial ones. So it does say when you click on them if they are free. It goes to a page before you download it.

I agree Carol. There's something wrong with that picture for sure! It's disappointing when you find out that someone you thought was a good celebrity who was only into truth is not.

If they show up on the bar at the bottom of your start page you can right click on them there with out going to your ISP. There is also popup stoppers to stop that too. You can find them at CNET

DID YOU READ THIS MYTH?

Saturday, February 15, 2014

Recently I read this MYTH in the newspaper.
MYTH: The healthiest foods are fresh, not canned.
FACT: Canned or jarred foods can be more affordable sources of vitamins and minerals compared to their fresh or frozen counterparts, according to a 2012 study.
What's more, your body is better able to absorb some nutrients (like lycopene in tomatoes) after the cooking and canning process.

Strange. I just can't believe it.

Canned vegetables are so over cooked that all the nutrients are killed. They are just trying to get the canned veggies off the shelves and starve us to death

WHAT KIND OF THINKER ARE YOU???

Saturday, December 07, 2013

I read this in an office today and thought it was very good:

A NEGATIVE THINKER SEES A DIFFICULTY IN EVERY OPPORTUNITY

A POSITIVE THINKER SEES AN OPPORTUNITY IN EVERY DIFFICULTY

Let us all see opportunity! We will always have difficulty but we must go on.

MY DELICIOUS "NO-SPAGHETTI" SPAGHETTI DINNER!

Tuesday, October 08, 2013

It really tasted good to me and was loaded with vegetables!
I used Turkey Italian Sausages (very low fat) and split them lengthwise and browned them in a little EVOO. Took them out of pan and added chopped onion, garlic, multi-colored peppers, 2 zucchini, and all the herbs I use for spaghetti sauce with very little water and browned them well. Cut the sausages into bite sized pieces and put them back in pan with 1 1/2 qts. of Organic Tomato Basil Sauce I purchased at Aldi's. Simmered for a while, then put it over the spaghetti squash I cooked previously, added Parmesan and had a delicious dinner. No one would ever miss the calorie laded pasta!!!

How did you make that oatmeal sooo good?

Thursday, September 26, 2013

That's what DH asked this morning after having it for two mornings.
I used 1 cup oatmeal, 2 1/2 cups water, 1 small McIntosh apple, chopped, little handful Craisins and a couple of shakes Cinnamon. Cooked until apples were soft. Then topped with brown sugar and milk. (I like chopped pecans, too.)
This made so much there was enough for 4 servings. (We reheat in microwave next day.)
I will put this into recipe calculator to get nutritional count.
Try it on a cool morning when apples are fresh and good!

I like oatmeal (90 seconds) daily with cut walnuts, or other nuts, berries (variety), craisins, or raisins microwaved together. Then topped with 3 tablespoons of yogurt.
Hot and cold, soft yet crunchy, improves cholesterol levels.
