Victory in Life

Wednesday, March 24, 2010

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:57-58

SparkPeople's version of Victory over Trials:
The need to weather hard times is constantly part of our business and personal lives. Do you ever think of these hurdles in a positive light? The next time you are faced with opposition, instead of looking at it as a source of anxiety, view it as an opportunity! Can you apply what you have learned to other areas of your life? Will this experience make you stronger and wiser next time around? Sometimes the worst and most painful experiences are the ones that help us grow the most. Having a positive attitude can deflate even the scariest situation. Overcoming adversity can help you achieve the extraordinary!

PS For those of you who pray I'm asking for prayers for supernatural favor for a job application I submitted yesterday and this morning. Thank you!

For Cat Lovers

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

I received this in email.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Nice Kitty!!

This big cat's picture was taken a few weeks back right outside of a home in Prescott, Arizona. 2 labs had been barking and doing all sorts of unusual things so we had just opened the door and let them inside. Now we know why they were going crazy. We were about to call someone when the animal disappeared. It took about 24 hrs. for our dogs to get relaxed.

This is interesting. I know of people in the mountains of California that had a Bear look into their window. I would have been concerned that it would break in but I think they made a lot of noise with pans and it went away. I would also be concerned the animal might return. I do not know what precautions a person would take in the event their children play outside.

Thanks for posting! Great pictures! We live in Indiana and a neighbor who lives about a mile from us as the crow flies saw a cougar worrying her horses not that long ago. As a Christian you probably remember that proliferation of wild beasts is mentioned in Deuteronomy 28 as a part of God's curses against Israel if they disobeyed. Kind of makes ya stop and think, doesn't it? emoticon

It is sad that humans are taking over their natural habitat; then they show up looking in our windows and people want them put down. (not implying that you do - just making a statement about people in general)

Hope for Today

Monday, March 22, 2010

For those of you struggling, the Bible says that those who plow are to plow in hope.

"Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Doesn't the Law say the same thing? For it is written in the Law of Moses: "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain." Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely he says this for us, doesn't he? Yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest." 1 Corinthians 9:7-11

Keep plowing. Keep on trucking. Keep on keeping on. Don't quit! Plow on, and plow in hope! Never, never, never give up! WORK like it all depends on us; PRAY like it all depends on Him.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I wanted to lose 1-2 lbs a week this year beginning in Feb, and including today there are now only ten days left in the month of March. 1-2lbs a week, would be 8.5 lbs to 17 lbs by March 31st.

Since I have only lost 6 it's imperative for me to get back on track, before I fritter away this year, as well.

So for these next 10 days I'm putting health first (after the Lord, of course; everything comes after the Lord). Yes I still have to job hunt; but outside of doing that, and before and after that, exercise and water and veggies and sleep are first priority.

Jehovah Reigns

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Jehovah You Reign

He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the most High; and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of David his father; and he shall reign in the house of Jacob forever. And of his kingdom there will be no end. Luke 1:32-33

But you, O Jehovah, reign forever; your throne endures to all generations. Lamentations 5:19

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Revelation 19:6

See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come . . . Song of Songs 2:11, 12

Thank you! We definitely need to be focused on the sovereignty of God after that debacle last night. I was angry when the "pro life" Democrats** sold out making passage sure but when I got to bed the Scripture that came to mind was,

" Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5,6

**Isn't the very term "pro life Democrat" an oxymoron? How can you be pro life and be a Democrat when abortion is part of their party platform?

But, I digress...

God Bless you for going to Washington yesterday. I was praying for that event. Also praying God's Will prevail and He soften the hearts of so many and show them the right decision for America. I hope they will see it is important to consider the image we portray with the values we hold high as followers of our precious Lord. Still praying today as the vote is planned to take place. What a travesty it would be if the legislators choose a Bill that supports the Planned Parenthood and force us to pay taxes to an organization that contributes to the death of the innocent. I am just Praising God for His Love in spite of the decisions people make for us as well as the poor ones we make for ourselves. He is dependable when others fail. May God Bless and guide America in this situation. Our Lord does truly reign!

Kill the Bill Rally in Washington Sat Mar 20th, Noon

Saturday, March 20, 2010

Kill the bill! This is a last ditch, Code Red rally. Get in your cars now, we need thousands to turn out.

Try to get there before noon.

Many are already driving in from Georgia, Indiana, and up and down the coast, as well as all of us locals in the vicinity and neighboring states who are going. Yes it's last minute but the situation is what it is, and the situation calls for it.

If you can't come at least listen to 03/19 Mark Levin show, it's free.

I respect opinions that differ and am glad you commented on my blog, I am glad you felt welcome to do so and hope you continue to feel welcome to do so.

My comments are:
1. Yes the link provided confirms I'm speaking of the Health Bill.
2. Everyone loses with this bill, especially including seniors and children, and also myself. This is a fact based on language in the bill itself. Everyone agrees reform is needed. 57% of Americans disapprove of this bill. This bill doesn't even address the reforms that ARE needed! I can tell you have not read the bill.
3. God reigns, but still gives us the ability to make evil decisions and to sin, and that is why we are in the mess we are in. This is called free agency rights. If he gave us the ability to choose, but then overrode our choices with only good, that is disrespecting free agency rights, then why even give us that gift? He respects our free agency to make choices, even wrong ones. Otherwise we would be like marionets, like puppets on a string.
4. Reconciling craziness - yes you are right there is much wrong. The Bible speaks of this, and tells us to do right. If everyone did right, there would be no wrong. It is up to us.

The Bible speaks of the path of doing right, how to do that, and why. The Bible speaks of God setting the choice between life and death before us, of good and evil. And then he begs us to please choose life. But he leaves the choice to us.
5. Because we think about others besides ourselves, is the reason why we choose to do right, and the reason why we fight against the bill.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the health bill, but if you are, you're only thinking of your self and not the millions of seniors that get screwed over everyday of our lives because of the present health care. And if God is in control, why are we in the mess we're in?

I know you're all very religious, but everyday people of all ages are suffering with cancer and terrible things and where is God. The bible says not to let the children suffer, so why are they? I have tried for years to reconcile all the craziness in the world and if God is so powerful, then something is wrong.

Have your religious beliefs, but think about somebody besides yourselves and help those who are suffering in this world.

I personally hope this Code Red Ralley helps. We are watching it unfold now on TV.

I personally feel this administration has their own agenda and is not listening to Americans.

I agree with Susan that God is in Charge. He will take care of us! God Bless us all.

The more people in Washington to make a difference and hopefully open their eyes of the Congress the better. I pray God goes with you and His Will prevail. I also hope many others will pray and fast over the votes and the outcome. The only way to make an impact is to be active in the process.
