In the book of Amos, the Bible says Jehovah made cluster of stars called Pleiades, and made the constellation Orion; and it says that we are to seek the Creator, Jehovah (rather than worshipping the creation).
Seek Him Who made the Pleiades and the constellation Orion, Who turns the shadow of death or deep darkness into the morning and darkens the day into night, Who calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out upon the face of the earth: Jehovah is His name.
Below is a picture of the Pleiades, AKA the Seven Sisters, AKA M45; one of the brightest and closest open clusters of stars - contains over 3000 stars. The Pleiades is about 400 light years away.
Scripture says God created ALL the stars. Psalm 147:4 says He counted them all and also named them (look up in the night sky; after considering He created and numbered and named them all; it makes our problems look puny, right?). Below is a star map of the Pleiades, with their human names.
Perhaps you have seen ladies wearing a mustard seed encapsulated in clear plastic and worn as a necklace (symbolic of Jesus' famous statement about Mustard Seed Faith)? Well below is Pleiades jewelry.
Pleiades and Orion are mentioned again, as well as Arcturus the Bear (Ursa Major), in Job 9:9
He made all the stars--the Bear and Orion, the Pleiades and the constellations of the southern sky.
The constellation of Orion the Hunter is famous for the three bright stars that make up his hunter's belt:
And here is a Hubble telescope picture of Orion, can you find the belt?
And our names for the stars in Orion:
The Pleiades are easily located by finding Orion's belt, then aligning straight through from the belt, through Taurus, to the Pleiades.
God of Wonders
Rather than focusing on the creation, and focusing on aligning the city of Teotihuacan, Mexico with the Pleiades, and focusing aligning the Giza Pyramids with the belt of Orion, instead let us focus on and worship the Creator of the Pleiades and Orion, who is Jehovah.
Have a blessed day In Him!
