Anti-Cancer Information

Monday, April 23, 2012

Are you still eating processed foods? I'm not. I had stopped, BEFORE, my sister died of cancer at 51; a rare, mystery cancer no one could figure out how she got, & usually only seen in extremely old people and less than 2% of the population. She'd never drank, smoke, nor used drugs. Now, everything I read is like "Oh yeah; that's how she got it".

The Food Industry is Waging War on Your Cells with These 10 Toxic Ingredients
(and by the way, neotame is now added into everything, even certified organic food that is PROCESSED, and neotame is NEVER listed on the label)

Cancer Prevention & Cures (the word prevention is used alot because you can't be sued for that; so everywhere you read the word prevention, substitute the word cure). But we've actuallly known how to cure cancer since 1931, someone won a Nobel Prize for it:

I'm getting my morning routines down. I've struggled. It's taken me almost a year to find one that really works well for me. I struggled for a long time to get exercise in. When I started doing Leslie Sansone DVD's, morning was perfect because it was not dependent on the weather, daylight, etc. I started getting up earlier on mornings that I was exercising. Then I started exercising almost every morning. Since I don't walk the same distance every morning to keep my body guessing, I would be taking the time every evening to figure out what time I need to get up in the morning. Then I started taking the fitness classes at work, and it got even worse, because 3 days out of the week, I try to go in 1/2 hour early to make up my fitness class time. I was totally frustrated. I finally simplified it and just started setting my alarm for the same time every morning regardless of the amount of exercise I have scheduled. This has relieved me of stress. I get my exercise before my brain can figure it out, eat my breakfast and log my exercise on SP and my Walk Across America, make my coffee for the road, get my shower, and off I go. Lunches are almost always packed the evening before that I am ready to grab and go.

I'm not doing my daily swish and swipe in the bathroom right now, but I must pick this back up. I've lost it somewhere along the line, although I must say that this little habit was a small thing that helped keep me sane after my Mom died. That sounds strange, but it was like one thing that hadn't changed. One thing I had control of. One thing I could do.

Now mornings I don't work - that's a different story. I struggle with thinking I should get up and get my walk first thing and get my day started and thinking that my body deserves a break and sleeping in.

Anyway, a routine morning has eased my stress a bit!

Relationship Between Food Allergies, Inflammation, & Overweight

Saturday, April 21, 2012

www.food-allergy.org/

There is a close relationship between food allergies, inflammation, and overweight. For more about this, see the author’s Food Allergy and Gluten-Free Weight Loss website.

I have (and currently am) resisting, with both heels dug in, trying going gluten free as a test. It reminds me of how I initially strongly resisted organic food; until my sister died, that is.

However, I've had allergic shiners all my life, and other classic symptoms of food sensitivities.

See also the GAPs diet:
www.naturalhealthathome.com/?p=610

I believe none of this would be necessary if mankind hadn't MESSED WITH and genetically altered, i.e. "improved", the grains God gave us to eat.

As soon as I have a career job again, I am going to get organic grains and pantry supplies from Azure Standard. If there's not one in my area, I'll gladly take on being the drop coordinator.

I don't know that I've had any adverse reactions to gluten. It would be a big diet change for me to go gluten free. Wishing you the best in finding what works for you.

Man thinks they know better than God so they try to make it so-called better and that makes it toxic to us and all creation

Carol, it might not be gluten. Have a look at milk as a possibility. See my blog entry on casein for what we've been experiencing with my daughter.

I love homemade tomato soup. I'd classify it as comfort food for me. Add a grilled cheese - splendiforous! I like their idea of always having the same Sunday lunch. Would take the stress out of planning.

Parsley is a Blood Purifying Superfood

Wednesday, April 18, 2012

I love tabbouli; it's my fav parsley recipe.

Do you have any parsley recipes? Parsley is great for detox, and detox is a cornerstone of cancer prevention. The cucumber in tabouli is a high pH index food, so cucumber is also a friend in the cancer prevention arsenal. Here's my tabbouli recipe:

Except I use 3 bunches American curly parsley. I keep bulgur wheat on hand as a pantry staple; any time I can get reasonable prices on tomatoes, cukes, and parsley, I make tabbouli.

Parsley is a Blood Purifying Superfood

by Dr. David Jockers

(NaturalNews) Parsley is considered the world's most popular garnish. Parsley was originally cultivated in Europe and the Middle East but has become a staple in American cuisine. This herb has remarkable healing and blood purifying benefits that classify it as a superfood.

Parsley has been revered throughout history and used for both culinary and medicinal purposes. The Greeks made crowns of parsley to bestow upon their sports champions. It was used for the Hebrew celebration of Passover as a sign of rebirth in the spring. The Romans used it to deodorize corpses before funerals.

It contains a unique combination of nutrients that make it a powerful superfood. The volatile oil compounds myristicin, limonene, eugenol, and alpha-thujene have been shown to inhibit tumor cell formation. Additionally, parsley is rich in flavonoids-including apiin, apigenin, crisoeriol, and luteolin that have strong anti-oxidant properties.

Parsley also contains about three times the amount of vitamin C by volume as an orange. Vitamin C is extremely important for healthy immune function and youthful skin & joints. Additionally, it contains carotenoid anti-oxidants lutein and zeaxanthin which enhance eye function and help the body neutralize damage from UV radiation.

Super rich in chlorophyll
Parsley is super rich in chlorophyll, the energy producing substance that gives herbs and plants its characteristic green color. Chlorophyll helps to alkalize the body, purify blood, and form new red blood cells. In addition, the chlorophyll and flavonoids in parsley help to enhance cellular glutathione formation. Higher levels of cellular glutathione allow the body to detoxify and heal more effectively.

Through these properties, parsley is able to improve cellular oxygenation properties. Increased oxygenation = increased cellular energy = increased detoxification & healing mechanisms.

Parsley is a fantastic source of folic acid which is extremely crucial for its ability to reduce homocysteine levels. Homocysteine is an inflammatory mediator that is linked with cardiovascular disease and brain degeneration. Folic acid is also important for pregnant women as it plays a critical role in fetal development. It is also an important nutrient for cancer prevention.

Parsley is also known as a powerful diuretic that reduces blood pressure and enhances kidney function. In particular, parsley increases sodium and water excretion thru urine and increases potassium reabsorption into the kidneys. This is particularly useful for anyone with poor circulation, swelling, cellulite, and other cardiovascular problems.

Juiced parsley is also believed to stimulate uterine contractions during labor. This juice has also been used to enhance skin and hair texture. It is also thought to reduce inflammation and mucous formation throughout the body. This is why many individuals see results using parsley to reduce symptoms of asthma, allergies, bronchitis, & urinary tract infections.

The rich chlorophyll content is also a great body odor and breath freshener. Chlorophyll acts as an anti-mutagen and it reduces odor causing bacteria which are responsible for producing bad breath and body odor. Parsley combines well with garlic and onions and reduces the strong pungent body odor these sulfur rich foods are known to cause.

Parsley dipped in apple cider vinegar is especially useful for reducing body odor and improving digestive function. The natural acids, chlorophyll and enzymes present in this food combination synergize to enhance the intestinal microflora. This is one of the best aids for neutralizing acid reflux, gas and bloating.

I've not made tabouli, but I think I should give it a try. Parsley is something that I usually use dried, but last summer a friend gave me some fresh from her garden and it was unbeatable! I'm considering growing some in my garden this summer.
