Day Three After Cruise

Sunday, June 10, 2012

Today, I bit the bullet and got on the scale. I gained two pounds in one week on that @#* cruise!!! It stands to reason that I could lose two pounds in one week by returning to my former lifestyle, right???? HAVE A FEELING THAT IS WRONG!!

So, today is day three of walking after the cruise. I am very pleased to be instituting a new habit. I know it is not a habit yet, and I have to use will power to go. My new plan is to walk as soon as I get up, BEFORE I have coffee, instead of after the coffee. When do that, yes, sometimes I walk, but often I do not. Today, I walked to Peets Coffee about a mile away.

My hair is always a mess and so I used that as an excuse not to go for my walk as soon as I get up. Ha ha, girl, did you ever hear of hats?

So, today I wore an Alaska baseball hat over my bedhead, and it was fine.

At least you gained on the cruise, I gained that without going anywhere just making bad food choices. Walking before coffee is great. Keep it up and we will both lose the pounds. emoticon

You know, that is a GREAT idea. If I get out the door before anything else, I may just get it done, too. Too many districtions if I wait. Thanks for the good advice. And good luck. Those cruises can be murder on the waistline.

The coffee gives me energy to walk and run. I always eat before I go out as I need the carbs and have coffee, sometimes black before I go. My diabetic nurse suggested having something with a little sugar in it as it goes straight to the muscles more quickly!

Don't fret about gaining 2lb. Its nothing to worry about! You will soon lose it when you get back to the challenge! emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticonYou got up out of bed and you went for a mile walk! You should be very proud of yourself! Especially since you have to get back into the swing of things after your cruise! I hope you had a wonderful time! I remember almost two years ago when my husband and I got married and we went to Jamaica. I remember when we were arriving at our home airport and I was thinking to myself, "What am I going to do?" Everything looked so plain! It took a few days, but I got back into the swing of it. The good thing is that the resort had a workout room so I used it every day! Have a great week and I hope your doing well! emoticon emoticon

Don`t give up. I too gained the weight after my last cruise - 4 lbs - but quickly lost it.

The food on the cruise is full of salt and you retain a lot of water for quite a while after. Once your body is back to eating healthy food you will find it will come off fast.

Back on Track

I just posted a few wedding photos. I am extremely happy to be married. We have been having a wonderful time; even though we were together for 8 years, being actually married does make a difference.

The cruise was wonderful for a honeymoon experience, being coddled and served like that all day long. But, of course, it is very inactive!!! The most activity you get is walking to the restaurant and back!!! They had shore excursions, but those were again sitting in a bus and maybe walking around a museum. Loved all of it, but glad to be back to my more active life.

Went for a walk yesterday morning and today, am really out of shape and this time I am not going to let anything stop me!!!

Back from Alaska

The cruise was great!!! But I refuse to weigh myself right now!!! They had the most delicious wines with both lunch and dinner, and it was like eating in a gourmet restaurant for dinner every night (and even lunch!!!)

Today is a glorious beautiful day, and I am going to get back on track, with exercise and tracking my food!!!

Suddenly there is no wheel to spin!! Everything is the same on my computer, but it says I do not have flash player by Macromedia. I googled flash player and clicked download but nothing happened.

My flashplayer crashes most days -- I have windows 9 as well as googlechrome -- when one crashes I head to the other one. I think it's on the flashplayers problem b/c after a short time I can go back and all works fine. I had a computer tech who came to our house tell me he has the same problem and the way he circumvents it is to have more than one type of browser on his computer....

Are you running an AD BLOCKER with your browser?

Because if you are, that is what is causing the trouble. It's on your end, not SparkPeople.

SP has recently implemented this change, and rightfully so. Ads are what runs this site for free. So they figure if someone is going to block advertisements, those people don't deserve to spin the wheel at a chance for free prizes.

iPad doesn't have a wheel either and it doesn't accept micro media. I have to click on the word here. I miss the wheel.

Spark has been very SLOW the last couple of days. It takes longer than dial-up time for each page to load, including the wheel. It's not your computer, it's Spark's website.
