I got a special treat for Easter, panettone, from a special Italian bakery in North Beach, so I do not feel guilty at all for having a three slices of it this morning. I did weigh it, though, and I did track it, so that is all to the good.

I was not in the mood to exercise AT ALL, but I got out my exercise bands, turned on Coach Nicole, and at least I did half of her routine. So, that is good too.

1. Stay in calorie range: ten points for butterfly team if I do!!!!

2.Do Coach Nicole exercise band workout - 20 minutes

3. Walk to grocery store and back - 40 minutes

4. Straighten up house

5pm - had 1000 calories during a light day, and I am starving right now. Am drinking H2O to see if I can hold off for dinner at 7pm.

    I bought a kids popsickle maker for 1.98 at Wal-mart and by the bottles of ZERO VITAMIN WATER WHICH IS SWEETENED WITH STEVIA and keep popsicles made to hold me over ! I always run water over the end of them at first because i don't want that much flavoring ! I THINK THEIR PRETTY GOOD AND NO CALORIES ! emoticon

5% Challenge

The goal this week is to stay within our calorie range. I almost did it yesterday, 34 calories over, and amazingly, I was not starving. Not sure why sometimes I am ravenous and sometimes not. Actually, I still had too much cal. and I see where I could have cut some out.

I do not think I really needed the sour cream on the potato. It just gets lost, it melts into the potato and then you have to put more on!!!!

Trivia this morning tricked me; I am trying so hard to get 100%. The question was" just adding 15 minutes of walking, not changing anything else would help you lose weight."The answer was no, not yes. I guess the time has to be longer. But at any rate, the question makes me realize I have to get back to my 2 mile walking program, now that the weather is improving.

    We all go over once in awhile. I know what you mean about being ravenous some days and then not that hungry at all on some days. I don't like those days when nothing satisfies your appetite no matter what you do. Getting that exercise in is essential. You just pick yourself up and go on with today. One day at a time, one meal at a time. You can do this!

Since it is April 1, I am back to trying to get 100% on trivia for this month!! I have slowly moved from 60% overall to about 68% overall. It seems silly for a 66 year old adult woman to be fiddling with spark "points" and trivia percentages!

However, the value of these things is they keep my focus on eating correctly.

Example: today's trivia asked, "which has more calories the mcdonalds kiddie cone or apple dipper? " I never eat at mcdonalds, but I used my laptop to look up the answer. Yes, it took time ( in that time I could have been doing strength exercises!) However, if I ever do go to mcdonalds, I will know which low calorie dessert to get!!

Yesterday I did something very bad. I had bought these wonderful See's easter eggs to give away next week to my mom and daughters, and I could not stand it, and broke into one, (rocky road for those who are interested) and polished off the entire thing in two sittings. One third of the egg was a serving at 170 calories, so 3 times 170 is 510. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Have not put it on my tracker yet.

    I have to admit I also ate some easter candy I purchased for the grands. I think I need to start sending them something else so I won't eat their loot.

I, too, do the trivia every day. I think it really helps the brain to "exercise" it. My mom died of dimentia, so I'm always wary of that in my own diagnosis.

(Trivia: I am currently at 75% overall, and got 81% for March. I should look them up more, but I usually "guess" (wrong of course) when I don't know.
